Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the twelfth major installment and the twenty-second release in the Assassin's Creed series, and a successor to 2018's Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Set in the 9th century, the player controls Eivor, a Viking raider and Assassin during the Viking invasion of Britain. The game is scheduled for release in late 2020 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia, and is to be Ubisoft's launch title for the next-generation consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
In Valhalla, the player takes on the role of Eivor, a Viking raider who leads their fellow Vikings from Norway in raids and battles against King Aelfred and the four Anglo-Saxon medieval kingdoms of England - Wessex, Northumbria, East Anglia, and Mercia - near the end of the 9th century as part of the Viking invasion of Britain. Additionally, the game will continue to tie into the modern-day events related Abstergo Industries' researcher Layla Hassan, who was featured in both Origins and Odyssey, and to the Templars and Assassins that have tied the series together.
Players will have the choice of playing Eivor as either male or female and are further able to select their hair, warpaint, clothing and armor. Combat has been changed to allow dual wielding of almost any weapon. The "Eagle Eye" mechanics are also expected to return in the form of a raven that will be Eivor's animal companion in the game. The player can use the raven to scout the nearby areas as previous avian companions had done in Origins and Odyssey. The game will rely less on a traditional leveling system and instead focus more on the selection of skills through skill trees selected by the player as Eivor advances through the game. Enemies will be rated based on the collection of skills. The skills trees will be similar to those found in The Witcher, Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Player choices through conversation or gameplay options will have impacts on the characters and their political alliances with other non-player characters.
A central feature of the game is the settlement that the player, as Eivor, will help build and lead during the game. Ismail described its importance as "a lot of what you're doing in the game world is, at the end of the day, going to feed into the settlement so that it can grow, it can flourish." The player will be able to direct construction of certain types of buildings which in turn provide benefits for gameplay. To build these structures, the player will need to lead the vikings on raids to collect resources. Naval combat will return, though more as a means of faster medium for travel for performing such raids, and for escaping after land combat, rather than in engagement with other naval vessels.
Valhalla is a single player game, but will include online components for the purpose of encouraging players to share their progress and creativity.

For everyone at settlement level 3 or higher who does not have this kid in the longhouse you have to talk to Valka at the docks first and complete the quest A WISE FRIEND before the child will appear in game.
I thought it was glitched at first but that NPC does not appear unless the quest to help Valka bring her items to her house is completed first.
After you reach level three, the seer house becomes available.

The upgrade for the ability is in Oxenenfordscire in a fort called Crepelgate. It's just outside of London to the top left of it.

I was hoping that the big ass wolf mount had some kind of fighting ability. I was riding through the woods and had a wolf attack me. You would thank, I'm riding on this big ass dire wolf and a lil Ole wolf had the balls to attack. That wolf mount would make him a happy meal.

@@desolatedreams21 the only one you can say is as good as Valhalla is odyssey and odyssey was amazing. Though I will say vallhalla still needs some updates fore visuals and that like whalst you are in that black room whalst loading cos I practise combos and rhat in there also big assassin gap needs to be bigger.

I thought the wolf in that pack was going to be like this one. I don’t much care for it being a mount. (Plus they have its footsteps sound like a horse, dogs don’t make that loud clop clop when they walk ) It howls all the time so I never know if it’s actually wolves sneaking up to attack or if it’s that mount. It would of been better if we could have some interaction with the wolf mount. It would be awesome to have that huge beast fend off the bad guys lol

"The Berserker mission," that you get with certain editions of the game, contains a white bear as part of the storyline. Unfortunately, you don't get to win it or choose it as an option after mission complete.

I know what you mean, I thought it was going to be part of the Berserker pack and we would be able to obtain it in game.
If the ability won't pop, re-do the quest and make sure that the wolf stays with you and the kids at all times. If it runs off or despawns, the quest bugs out. This happened to me . I ran to the village at full speed and the wolf despawned and was not there when I talked to the kids. I loaded an earlier save (when I was just in front of the house with the wolf in), ran back at a very slow pace, made sure to keep the wolf in my sights at all times (even when she ran off to take down a deer) and we made it all back together to the village and the ability popped.

Ever since I romanced Randvi, I've had a permanent "Speak to Randvi" quest. Like, I'll go report a Region I've won, pledge to another one, and the "Speak to Randvi" quest is still there all the time

I did the quest, didnt get the ability due to the known glitch out there. But I found the ability as a Book of Knowledge... just cant get level 2 of the ability until the glitch is fixed. Level one is trash

I found the "upgrade" and now have the ability, but didn't get it initially when I completed "A Small Problem". I can assign the ability but can't use it. Any thoughts?

I did the quest and got the wolf but the ability didn't show up and I noticed in your video it wasn't there either straight away, then your video skips and appears all of a sudden at 11:42, please can you explain this and how you got the ability to appear? I chose the name chewy, does that make it big out and did you re do the quest to make it work?
If your Wolf ability hasn't worked it's because you need the book of knowledge in Oxenfordscire next to Lunden then it will appear in your abilities then you can assign it. 👍😁 I thought it was because I chose the name chewy and nearly started it from an earlier save. Glad I found this out first

Elites at full health with definitely take damage from "mans best friend" ability. Also keeps them incapacitated for a moment for you to take down another enemy or 2. But it kills elites around half health I think. I love the ability. Helps with archers from far away too.
Also you can stamp on there faces.
Also my wolf won't deal damage for some reason. Just flaws them
@@blacklegbeastro5295 I don't think you can stomp while the ability is happening. My ability damage is a little buffed from passive skills. That might have something to do with it. But basic enemies around your power level should definitely take damage from your wolf.
Typically I give the kill to my wolf or I shoot them in the head with an arrow while they're incapacitated.

Some reason I can stomp on them but my wolf doesn't deal damage, sooooooooo my game is backwards.
I haven’t gotten to this yet but I did come across a black wolf that was caught in a hunters trap. I freed it and it started following me every where it had the green dot above its head but I got on my horse and it disappeared. Guess I didn’t wait long enough before I got on the horse. If I come by one of those again I think I will have it follow me back the settlement just to see if it will become a camp companion. Curious to see if the game gives us other chances at getting a pet wolf just in case we miss these kids. Just got my settlement to level2 but I have been off on a mission and not at the settlement.

I think the ability is very good but I do not like that the wolf attacks once and disappears, it would have to stay at least until the combat was over...
This is exactly why I loved the hunter class in WoW
Me too. I even had a wolf with me as my companion.
I adamantly disagree with the notion that the shipyard be a early focus. It only gives you cosmetics. The blacksmith should definitely come first, then the hidden ones and after that either the store or the stable. Even after that the hunter shop, and the fishing shop would be more important as the actually help you earn resources. The seer’s place would take priority over everything except the blacksmith and hidden ones, i mention it last because i dont think you get the option to do it until after you do a number of other upgrades.

Thanks for the explanation. I have my settlement in lvl 3 now with about 5 of 6 buildings and still cannot find this kid in the longhouse. Do you need to finish a certain mission first of the storyline?

I got it with settlement lv 3 then having leveled up a couple times to power of 75 after killing 2 daughters of heron and Thor the fist monger (mini bosses). I think your power level also determines when you can get some hidden side quests for ability like this

If they made the wolf a companion tho theyd have to flesh out it's AI and give the player a lot more ways of controlling it tho, so it makes sense that they didn't altho i agree it would be dope.

Another comment below tells what you need to also do before this activates. It did work for me however on the way back from the house the wolf ran off on its own chasing a rabbit. It never did come back. It never gave me the ability. Maybe I have to build that lady's house first.
I'm not sure if I messed something up but the boy in the Longhouse did not appear until the exact moment I took woman who reads your dreams (Valka) to her new home.. this Mission appeared to me the moment I made my settlement a level 3 settlement. After I took her to her new home the boy appeared in the longhouse
Quest is Kinda bugged and doesn’t always give the ability. Here’s hoping for a patch to give everyone who finished the quest or can’t do the quest the Wolf ability. I have it from finding a book that was supposed to give you rank 2 but gave me rank 1 instead since quest didn’t give me the ability.

I have had a problem with that the wolf ran after a deer when we walk back and than I didn't get the ability. So I reloaded and made sure that there were no animals and than I did get it when it walked back to the settlement. So I just wanted to mention this fore someone that haves the same problem and don't know how to fix it.

I talked to the kid and then did the quest line and got the Best Friend ability, selected it, but so far NEVER EVER seen it yellow (usable). It always remains greyed out... Don't know what's wrong. :-(

I have the wolf ability but was going from halstead outpost to the mysteries west of that and found a wolf that was in a trap and set him free and now his following me. Don't know how long he will stay with me as I just did it.
Hmm, can't take your camp dog with you in RDO, but you can fight along side a wolf in AC Valhalla... Think I'm sold

I agree. Like how it has been the last 2 ac games. Calling it in to kill real quick then disappear is kinda lame and unimmersive. I spent more time defending my canine companions in the last 2 games than i did myself though, so maybe thats why.

I used the wolf ability once and its no longer available. I have it equipped with full adrenaline and the cooldown never resets
When I first got the wolf he hung out in Eivor room now I never see him unless I use him for battle which I have only done twice because I always forget about the abilities until after the battle is over lol

Is it just me or did anyone else find the wolf companion wolf in Grandesceire near where Soma's advisor Galinn ship landed? It was just laying there and I went to wake it up as it was on the ground. Wish I wouldve recorded it but i didnt. It stayed with me for a bit and disappear a little after. I already got Man's best friend lvl 2 at that time too.

This is one of the best viking games i've ever played... i'm still waiting for the new assasins creed game to come out though.

So...I did this twice. The first time I didn't get the ability and had to reload an earlier save. Lost so much progress. Second time around I got the ability but it doesn't work. Do you need more than 1 adrenaline bar or is there some other reason it won't work? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

On PC I did that quest a long time ago and at the end of it never got the ability... works as intended I guess?! Now the kinds are always around the little dude that tells stories and was selling the Opal stuff but I can't even access that shop, he's stuck telling stories.
On x box one Exactly the same shite happened to me after 50h in game still don’t have the ability but I picked a different save with about 30 h in it and I’ve done the quest and yes I got the ability but almost 20h of content lost just so I can play it again to have that ability!? Is Sad 😔

the wolf ability was disappoint , you need to build up your adrenaline for it only to attack one enemy. I wish it would stay longer

the quest starts in the longhouse, you will see a chat symbol on the head of a kid.

This ability was available on AC Odyssey. I never equipped or used it so I'm not sure how it worked but I know it was available on one of the skill trees.
You knocked an animal out and just walked up to it and pressed the button it told you to. You coultame wolfs, Lions And BEARS

I got this ability but I also found another wolf with its leg caught in a trap I freed it and it followed me for a little while and helped me too

I cant get the wolf ability to reset even with full adrenaline. The cooldown never resets
When you aim you will be able to do it. You cant do it without aiming at the target.

hmm, try upgrading to level 3.. I have a save where he is there on two.. but someone else is saying he only showed up after 3. Might be something that was patched on the day 1 patch.
