Love the video! The idea of honoring your mom by cooking her recipes is wonderful! Definitely give yourself grace. No two griefs are alike and no two days are alike. However you're grieving is just fine. Lost my mom in 2002 and sometimes it still feels like yesterday. Hugs to you and your family, Allie!

This is normal grieving and its ok. Be kind to yourself and do what you can. Its ok to have days that you can't do anything. You will eventually have more productive days than bad days. Everyone grieves differently.

Yes, Dinner Prep with Allie! Sounds like a good idea to me. No biggie if you mess up - we all have "happy little accidents" in the kitchen! 😅 I'm glad to hear you are finding your way. It sounds like your Mom is still taking care of and guiding you. ❤️ It will be special to see some of her recipes.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Really love and appreciate your videos. One idea for some of her favorite and memorable clothing pieces could be to make a quilt out of squares of the items. ❤

You're doing great! I'd love to see a live cooking show. I really enjoyed this video. When my sister, my best friend, passed away, it took me a long time to get off the sofa. Give yourself grace. I'm so glad you're honoring your mother by continuing your channel. It'll be a wonderful tribute to share her recipes! Take care, Linda 🦋

I lost my mother to a long illness when I was 9 years old. I lost my father at 40. I lived my life the last 26 years reminding myself that my parents health issues are not mine. Living healthy is how I honor them. Sometimes it is hard but I remember my family needs my role model not my history. Everyday I say a gratitude prayer. I've had so many people, things, and experiences since changing my mindset.

I am so sorry you lost your mom and dad so young. You are so right, you are honoring them by living healthy and being a example for your family. ❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss. ♥️🙏 Praying for peace as you navigate through the grief and your new journey. I’ve lost both of my parents… my mom when I was 23 and my dad 29 years later, which was just 2 years ago. I miss them both terribly but cherish the memories in my heart. Yes, definitely give yourself grace. I can be very hard on myself too and am also learning to love myself enough to extend grace. When we love ourselves, we are then more free to love others. ❤
Oooooh, the Tupperware! I sold Tupperware years ago and absolutely still love it.
Cooking your mom’s recipes is such a wonderful way to keep her close to your heart. ❤️

Cooking your mom's recipes sounds like a great idea to me! 🥰
On a side note, I do not like "soggy" pasta either, so I always serve the noodles separate from the sauce (not stirred all together as it usually is). This also allows each person to use the amount of sauce they prefer. I store it in the refrigerator that way too. The noodles will seem dry as leftovers but are fine when you put sauce on top and warm it in the microwave. But I totally agree with him about not liking pasta that has been frozen--I don't like it either. Lol
    Take care!

Thank you, I am glad you like the idea! And, I will try your pasta idea and sauce idea! Maybe that will help do the trick!!! 🥰

Sorry to here. Lost my mom 3 years ago. It's a tough journey, but God will get you through. Something that helped us was a Griefshare class at our church. Hopefully there is one near you if interested. 🙏

It doesn’t even need to be live, just cooking videos. I have a feeling you know a ton about cooking. Explaining why you do a certain something when you cook a certain food etc.
If you could explain how to cook for 2 would be great. I can’t always wrap my head around it. How to shop without spending a ton because I end up with more ingredients. I’m the type to not freeze. I don’t really know how long foods are good for or I don’t take the chance.

OK first, you are doing awesome! Giving yourself grace now is absolutely the thing to do. I have to tell you that I am a little envious... now hear me out! No, I would not to experience the pain you have been through, but it is clear you had a close relationship with your mom. My mother passed 16 years ago. Aside from not being able to ask her something like how old she was when she went through menopause, or a question about me as a child, my life did not change one bit when she died. We were not close, in fact she drove me crazy. Add to it that her death was utterly and easily preventable but she had irrational fears and it directly led to her death. I guess I'm still stuck at the anger phase, though not angry with God or the universe, angry with her. Anyway, while this is maybe the hardest thing you have ever gone through, it is because there was much love, and that is something to be celebrated. For what it is worth, I manic clean when processing anything serious and I have a close friend who repaints rooms in her house as a coping mechanism. You'll find things that work for you. OK, second, the fix to freezing meals with pasta is to undercook the pasta by 2-3 minutes. That way when it is reheated, the pasta doesn't overcook and get mushy. Freeze Meals 101 here on YT has tons of recipes that give great results, though they don't necessarily focus on healthy recipes but use convenience items rather than making everything from scratch. They have a free printable for what ingredients freeze well and what doesn't. Depending on where you are at in your health journey, you can sub out seed oils or healthier ones, and make other adjustments to their recipes to make them cleaner. I meal prep a little different... I cook up a big pack of chicken breasts in the instant pot, shred them, and freeze them in amounts right for my family. Same with pork butt roasts, and beef chuck roasts. The shredded meat can be used in tacos, quesadillas, for sliders, in soups, stews, casseroles, in pasta, lettuce wraps, rice bowls, homemade pizza, or even as a topper for potatoes. I freeze it without sauce so I have more options.... teriyaki for rice bowls or wraps, BBQ for sliders, salsa for latin recipes or add a seasoning mix like taco seasoning or ranch depending on the application. You can do the same with ground meats... cook them up plain and freeze, then season or sauce later. Healthy fast food at its finest! I also try to double or triple what I am making for dinner, cook them all, eat one and freeze the rest. I always have frozen cooked meatloaf in the freezer. I slice it up and flash freeze the slices on a sheet pan, then bag them up. That way anyone can grab a slice or two for lunch, or I can grab enough for a meal. I'm sure you could skip the flash freezing if you separated slices with parchment or freezer paper. I try to look at how my family eats on the regular and prep what I can for those meals. Precooking the protein is a big time saver for me. I still start with raw meat for many meals like chicken thighs, but I try to freeze them in a way that they'll thaw faster flat vs how they come in a package. And for pork tenderloin, I tend to cook it up as medallions instead of the whole piece, so I will slice it and tenderize it before freezing. Think of what meals you use marinades in, and freeze the meat *in* the marinade. Hang in there girl!!! Big hugs!
