1:02: Those beauties used to take me to school - along Strathern Road to Grove. Great buses. Nos 7/8 Circular or 5 Branhill via Strathmore Ave. Curiously, many of the later ones haven't survived.
At 0:36- there's a STARTING HANDLE at the front of the bus! Reminds me of something my dad told me. He was raised in the 1920s & 30s. In the 1970s he said to me in all seriousness (& he was a very serious man. A World War II veteran): "When you are starting a car, DON'T grip the starting handle with your thumb AROUND it. Make sure it's ALONG it, otherwise if the handle springs back it can break your thumb." And he was SERIOUS. In the 1970s.
Fantastic video. It's a really good museum, I only live a couple of miles from it. Lathalmond used to be a Royal Navy storage depot.
