      Funnily enough, I'm not a bus enthusiast at all but was dragged along by a friend who's a bus fanatic. I did enjoy it and would certainly recommend it.

    I would just LOVE to drive one of those old buses. As a kid, I loved their CHARACTER (& being from Glasgow, the "characters" on board!), the upholstery, the big dome heater against the front wall/floor, the wee dull light bulbs, the open back door, the great sound of the engine, & the conductor! TODAY'S buses are just "soulless nothings". I now live in Australia, & am licenced to drive buses. I'd jump at the chance to drive one of these great old buses!

    Thanks for this, Tim. A goodly reminder of the couple of times I've visited with my wife. We were last there in August 2018, and I have only just put together a video of the trip on the wee caboose. I have only taken pics of the buses, but watching your video I'm thinking maybe I could make a decent slide show to share my pics.
    Cheers. 👍

    I would have really liked to see some information on the buses. We did not get some of those here in NZ. The Bedford OB and SB were very common, and Daimlers were common as well, but I didn't recognise a lot of these. The Daimlers we got were interesting as they had Gardner 5 cylinder Diesel engines and 4 speed Wilson gearboxes.

      Thanks for your response - a browse through my channel will show that buses are not really my interest. I was at the open day to support a friend (who crosses the camera briefly at 2.03 and is a life-long bus fanatic) and am amazed at the support this video has attracted. Can't help you with any further information - but best wishes to you - Tim

    Does this museum have the Albion Viking bus of VK 41 or VK 55 model powered by BRITISH LEYLAND 0.370 Engine or British Leyland 0.400 Engine?

    • @schoolshorts
      @schoolshorts  3 года назад +2

      Not my area of expertise, I'm afraid - I've only visited the Lathalmond museum on that one occasion.
      However, a friend of mine is heavily involved with the SVBM and he tells me that there are two Vikings at Lathalmond, one in Alexander Midland livery with the 0.400 engine and the other in Alexander Northern colours, engine unknown.
      He also tells me that a friend of his has a Viking VK 43AL (reg VMP 8G) in Highland Omnibuses livery at the Bridgton museum of the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust.
      Hope this is of some help.
