I will definitely look for your mirror video. Since its been half a decade, do you know if there are certain year Tacoma handles that will fit my 2010, or have they not changed?@@dironaa
if you can not make the new handle fit, change the interior part of the handle to the original handle that worked before. the handle is 2 part assembly that will come apart by removing the screw on the inside.
Man, you should write technical manuals and make instructional videos for a living! Exact camera angles, perfect lighting, etc., and you did it in the cold and the snow! I replaced my handles and mirrors without a hitch and will also follow your lead with the simpler winch bumper on the front. Really well made video and it gave me the confidence to do it. One question for you. I had ordered LED bulbs for the mirror lights and I have slipped my hands behind the glass to pop it free for access to the bulb and pulled outward what I thought to be rather hard. I stopped because I was afraid of breaking the glass. Is there a trick to that? (i.e. grip from left or right, top or bottom?) Thanks again for great videos!
If only I could... I’ve needed to pop the glass out of factory mirrors before, and if I remember correctly you need to tilt the bottom of the glass out and pull. I think there is a 1A Auto video on RUclips showing how to replace mirror glass on an FJ that should help. Don’t do it in the cold, it’s held on by some fragile plastic clips, ask me how I know...
Being that I installed this so long ago I can’t remember much about it. If I were in your shoes I’d take it apart again and try to figure out exactly how everything should work in there
It didn't when I bought it but here's a link to the video where I installed it: ruclips.net/video/zro19tPOdPA/видео.html I bought some cheap fobs off of Amazon which worked ok for a while but quickly died so I ended up getting a used factory fob for it.
any chance the discrepancy in the tab holes was a tundra vs fj difference in design? only curious. when you flash the insides of both you can clearly see thre FJ handle has the holes further inward@@dironaa
Great video. Definitely will do the same. Will need mirror change out too.
It’s a good look. I made another video changing the mirrors that might help you.

@@Faded14367 I believe I used tundra handles but can’t remember the year. There should be info on fjcruiserforums.com
This is one of the best videos I have seen. Great job! Thank you.👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

Great way to improve the look!
Great video man. Thanks for your time. You made it look easy .
Very DIY-friendly mod. Thanks for watching!

Great tip!
I like these. I just plasti-dipped mine. that takes care of all the silver parts
Thats a great option too
how long does the plasti dip last tho??
@@l8nightvibes That’s what I want to know, especially when taking it off road. Any plasti dip will scratch off, if it gets rubbed by a branch etc.
Awesome and great vid to watch. Ty for explaination as well
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
Thanks man! Appreciate the detailed help
Glad it helped!
👍👍👍 Thanks for the video
You bet!

@@dironaa Ha ha! Perfect! Thanks again!
Would you be able to help explain why the outside handle isn’t working I install it? My inside handle still works. Thanks

Great video, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching
Are the parts the same for driver and passenger side?
Yes, since both the driver and passenger side can be unlocked with a key.
If I buy 2 driver side handles, will it fit the passenger side?
Not sure. If you try it let us know if it works
Never thought about putting duct tape on screwdrivers before 🤔😅
Duct tape: 5,468 uses and counting
Do this FJ have keyless entry? Still struggling with mine after adding receiver and eBay fobs!

What size to torx please?
27
why not just paint the original handle?
Could but I would have been worried about the paint peeling or chipping
Link to the handles?
Got them on Amazon, I think they were marketed as Tundra handles

nive video . careful with after market parts all make in China break quick happen to my fj .
I agree and usually try to do a good amount of research and check reviews
I like the silver better and would prefer chrome.
