Demul has been removed from Batocera, there is not even a "cave3rd" folder anymore
hi, I was trying to use your guide for the cave, but on the archive site I can't find the necessary files, not even system, what should I do?
Any chance of a new tutorial, since demul is no longer supported?

I have all of these games working flawlessly on Bv32 using mame. That's why my system is locked down, it already does everything I want. But good video for newbies.

If you want these to work , just put the Roms in the MAME folder, set emulator to MAME (Last option) but only set the emulator for these roms or some of the others in that folder might not work. And you're good. No need for all this.
That's true. Nonetheless, with Mame, some folks have so many games that it's nice to keep them separate from other Mame games.
You could just create a sub folder in mame I guess.
But I like to keep systems sep as well.
Wish we had sep systems for psp mini, famicom, Turbogrfx16 etc too. Rather than just psp, nes, pcengine.

I’ve done exactly what the video said, I’m even using the same theme pack, but as soon as I load up a game, it just crashes out back to the games list. Is there something I’ve don’t wrong? I’ve followed the video to the detail.
Same for me. I've tried vulcan,open gl, mame direct etc.... games kick back to main menu everytime. 😡
Also, I saw the same problem. The games kick back to the main menu every time.
Try changing the emulator 2 mame or mame libretto.
Forgot 2 add only change it on these roms, it you doit 4 all games the other roms will stop 2 run.
@@intrepido7221 There is no option to change the emulator within the Cave advanced system settings.

Hey i just installed batocera on a usb stick with balena etcher or somethin like that. And i just want to boot up to batocera when i try to boot up a picture of batocera appears and few second later i get a Blackscreen. I hope somebody can help me

how to record batocera screen?
I'm using batocera v34 on PC and there's NO cave3rd folder in the roms directory. Is this because I originally had v32 & updated to v34 ? Followed this tutorial to the letter. Not a single game launches sadly.
I haven't downloaded the roms of the video but I already have them and I run them whit mame, change the emulator 2 the bottom mame or you can also try libretto mame.
Only change it on these roms and not all the games of mame or the other roms will stop working.
I did step buy step,but the games can not open.

Hello ! do you think its possible for Batocera to recognize an ori stick without bluetooth ? ilt's an old model...Batocera can detect it when i plug it but nothing work after that ...thank u for ur channel !
Don't believe it is possible. It might detect you have a stick, but it might not have the linux drivers to make it work.

The video snap? On some cards the video snaps don't appear no matter what you do.

You can just put these in the mame folder... you don't need to do any of this complicated stuff.
Yes you can. Though many like me still like to have each system as a separate entry in Batocera.

I'm running batocera 34. When I go into ROMS there is no Cave3rd folder. Do I just need to create a new folder for the cave roms or is there a reason why the folder is missing??
You have to download the files he was talking about in the video. When he’s talking about downloading 2 files, you can see the website address in the address bar, just type the full address in your web browser, and download those .zip files. When downloaded, unzip them onto a usb stick or external hard drive, and just follow the video when you load up Batocera. Press F1 to enter file directories, and copy the cave3rd folder into shared/roms/ folder, and then there’s 2 more that go into different folders, which he also explains. Good luck.

@@mikenaisbitt No worries, we’re all having the same issue, every time we try to load up a game, it just kicks us out back to the games list, so just hoping Batocera Nation pickup on this, and put out a fix.

Are these games already in a full mame set?
Not all, the mame version that's bigger than 90 or 100 gbs may have it, the other ones only have some.
The Cave3rd folder is not showing in the rom files
You create it. Or just copy and paste the files you download and the folder is automatically created.

Previously I used version 33, the Yuzu worked normally, after I updated it, the Yuzu couldn't. If I go push f1 and go the app I can run yuzu and games run no problem but in batocera when I select the same game the game won't start. can you make a video to solve this problem?? thanks for the help
Every time you upgrade Batocera, you have to reinstall it like the first time. Since Batocera does not support Yuzu, the necessary files for Yuzu are not automatically installed when Batocera is upgraded.

@Thomas Tjiang Don't need to uninstall Yuzu. Just follow the first video that shows installation and the one that shows how to upgrade Yuzu.

Not working for V35 :(
Hello, I really need help with batocera. I've got 2 usb flash drives, the first one works fine with batocera, however the second one has a few problems and differences even though I had set it up the same way I set up my first flash drive. One problem is not being able to upload files through the Internet, it is alot slower and when it's finally about to upload, it'll show something like 600mb/600mb and then say there was an error uploading. I've also noticed that when running batocera on this second usb, there are freezes every now and then. I'm using THE SAME DEVICE FOR BOTH of these usb flash drives. PLEASE HELP!
Edit: The startup also takes longer
Performance issues aswell (aren't present on other usb), takes longer to load in (everything),

Is the slow one usb2 maybe? If so that could well be the reason.

Not sure what the problem could be as to why one is so much slower. Could be brands, dunno. Are the both legit brand name flash drives too?
But I would recommend using usb 3 over usb 2 not only cause file transfers are faster but boot up is quicker, and loading large disc based games would be bit quicker too.
And the UI wouldnt be laggy like if you are using usb 2 either.
But actual game performance wise it shoulnt make a difference, except maybe with ps3 games, not sure on that one.
@@fonzitheman they are both the same brand (Verbatim) and look identical except for the their colours. I ran a test on both of them, the usb's thats working alright has a transfer speed that would jump from 0 mb/s to 200 mb/s constantly and the one I'm having issues with is a stable 6 mb/s I think this is why it feels slower. Kinda strange huh?
Why not just get a usb 3? I mean 32,64 or even 128gb ones are pretty cheap nowdays.

I’ve got the same issue.
This is 4 di nubs that want 2 use the turbo fire, First open a room, the press hotkey±a 2 open the retro arch menu, the first thing u will see is resume, press b 2 go back, you will see the main menu, select settings Then input, go down to port 1 controls and press a, once u enter press up, on the bottom u will see turbo, select it whit a, once selected press the button u want 2 use to activate the turbo, mi use Lt button and +2 appears, then press b several times 2 go back, chose main menu, quick menu, resume, start playing, 2 activate the turbo mi press Lt+a, then I left go of the Lt button while keeping the a button pressed and the turbo auto fire start, u can press b or any button u like on turbo mode, also when u die u have to activate the turbo once again, u also have 2 do this steps once u change of ROM or close the ROM, I try saving the changes But it doesn't save, so me recommend reading it on your phone or writing the steps on paper until you memorize Dem.
