WHAT HISTORY IS BRUV READING
Ivern is gonna be a huge pick. The aoe heal from redemption and the shields on the frontliners in mid-late gm teamfights can be a difference maker. I wanna see the west utilize enchanters while also drafting for tanky engage for front to back teamfights with mid and adc on hypers. Heck, some Karthus/Soraka wombo combo, Senna/Seraphine (used with Ivern jg, Olaf top, and Trynd mid ghosting on enemy backline getting extension on Seraphine ult/Senna ult layered over/ Ivern redemption over the top of Olaf/Trynd), Kalista/Renata (throws Renata in with ult to get best placement possible for Renata ult on key targets.)
Sample drafts with Xayah/Kai'sa banned (think how these ults synergize and layer):
Olaf, Ivern, Tryndamere, Seraphine, Senna
Rumble, Wukong, Orianna, Kog'maw, Braum
Poppy, Karthus, Jayce, Draven, Soraka
Malphite, Jarvan, Orianna, Kalista, Renata

This was amazing. A more relaxed format than what I normally watch. Just riffing off each other. Really fun to watch.

That was a very fun get together. I think it is nice for them to talk with eachother about their respective regions, where each of them has something to tell to the others that they don't know, instead of all of them knowing everything about 1 specific region already.
This was super entertaining!! Hoping for more from this combo! 🎉
haven't laughed this much with a podcast in a while! Watched 5 minutes only and Azael is unleashed. Keep it up guys!

20 minutes in and I've already had water shoot out of my nose and 2 spit takes. I need this EVERY worlds. Great content guys, hope Azael and Vedius got some sleep after.
about caps discussion, I feel like Vedi has Caps in such regard he takes him out of EU mids category and compares him with all time great asian mids, where Caps regretfully doesn't measure up that well. he is a greatest mid EU ever had.
I can agree with What he said about the best in the world. To many great midlaners. But the humanoid take is bit weird. This game is more about laning.i also Think the teams Will be more focused to shutdown caps in games then they Will for humanoid. Humanoid was never in the conversation for best in the world
Thats the recency bias maybe, last time we saw caps being in his prime was vs BDD in 2020, Humanoid had great showings last year
I agree on 90% of what Azael said at 33:00 about maybe EU and NA shouldn't have a pool 1 seed. The only issues I see with this is 1) under what objective argument do you measure when EU or NA deserve a pool 1 back or not? And 2) (and this is the biggest issue I see) is that you can maybe argue that a team like G2 is maybe 2 or 3 steps below a pool 1 team. But the 2nd EU seed is like 4 steps below G2. What if that G2 gets enough results across 2 or 3 years to firmly deserve a pool 1 seeding, and then next year they don't make it as EU's 1st seed and the 1st seed just lucked out? Or if they make it as pool 1 seed, but the 2nd seed (that should get pool 2 seeding) is extremely inferior to other pool 2 teams? It's very tricky because the gap between G2 and other western teams is just as big as between pool 1 eastern teams and G2.
If we are sticking to current format, pool 1 would be based on who makes semis, or finals of worlds and msi.
Pool 2 would be playoffs etc.
@@lazydk2654 The problem is Worlds isn't region vs region. It's teams vs teams. DRX won Worlds last year and with your definition they should be pool 1, but they didn't even make it to Worlds. So we give LCK a pool 1 for a team that isn't there? What if that pool 1 team gets clapped by the other pool 1 teams?
Say this year GAM wins Worlds because they get lucky with their draws and luck out all tournament. Does VCS next year deserve a pool 1 seeding when they only have 1 Play-Ins seed rn? I know it's a stupid example, but sometimes completely unexpected things do happen at Worlds, and they don't necessarily reflect next year's perfomances.
I feel like everyone is underestimating the NRG buff against teams that they should lose to, they always win games against better teams, which is, in theory, every team at the tournament, so they’re going undefeated
NAMEN
However, if they go 3-0 in Swiss, they are suddenly a top team and expected to win, so they will get swept by like BLG in quarters
@@darkienl5886However, when they are 2-0 down, everyone will say it was just a flash and they are not the favorites again, resulting in them reverse sweeping their way through to the title.
I liked that a lot! More of this in the future
Azael and Atlas are really my favorite casters!! And totally underrated
Neither is underrated. They both are held in high regards.
Vedius and the conversation around caps can be so strange at times. He has indeed had some poor performances vs great mids internationally, but he also has performances like last year in the first round vs RNG and T1 where he made fun of both Xiahou and Faker(and yes having the reverse happen after). He's nowhere near as consistent as chovy or knight but it's not uncommon for him to have standout games(including lane) where he stomps the worlds best too.
All Hail the best pogcast that has been made! And pls, keep it at all Worlds! It's so fun to see caster from differente regions interacting! And would be awesome if some guests from other regions could be included (LPL and minors)!

I love the chaotic energy!
Azael literally has the best takes love the content!
The seeding question is relatively easy to resolve. Before each worlds, lets look at all the international events of the last two years, each win awards a point. That will set up a regional ranking. Top 2 regions get first two seeds in pool1, 3rd seeds in pool2, top3-4 region gets seed 1 on pool 2, top 1-2 seed 4s and top3-4 seed 2 in pool 3, rest of the seeds plus playin goes to pool 4. THat way, it always gets the best possible seeding, and most realistic power ranking.
two years? one meta one team!
I love the extra long podcast formats! Hopefully there's no pressure to make it shorter hahaha. Great to see the different podcast regions in one collective mega podcast.
I share the same sentiment as Azael when it comes to Caps, he 100% was in the conversation as best mid in the world in 2019.
What a great and fun podcast this was. The banter, the prediction, Vedi HATING caps lmao, over all banger of an episode, cant wait for the next one after de best of 1s

Please have someone checking sound. Either having Vedi really low that its just silent or I turn it up and then everyone else is hurting my ears. (at least midway, they pull up the mic afterwards).
What is Vedius saying, without Caps, Europe would be probably consider like NA o would have the same achievements as NA (None)
the audio was a bit off, specially when laughter occurred (i was hearing without headphones)
just my two cents
that aside, loved the content, was looking forward for something like this
I can't get over Vedius saying Caps doesn't perform well internationally. He won MSI, hard carried FNC to worlds finals, went to worlds finals the very next year with G2, and has come in 3rd at worlds. And the timeline was he was in world finals, won the next MSI, then was in the NEXT worlds finals, then came in 3rd at the next worlds. How many other players in the history of the game, any region, have won MSI and been in 2 worlds finals?
i think what he means is that when G2/fnc got to those biggest stages, he was a pretty defining factor on why they got 0-3'd most times. not cuz he wasnt a good player, but his opposing mid laner was just *that * much better. he's good, but against the likes of knight and chovy theyre just...built different.
he's also possibly just trying to reverse psychology G2 so they exceed expectations, cuz most times they get super hyped vs an LCK/LPL matchup they got 3-0'd. so temper expectations and maybe itll work the same way. xD
You didn’t watch FNC 2018 if you think Caps carried them to anything lmfao
@@mwbwyatti can see That. But dont Mention humanoid. That was Just strange take. Like humanoid did something special international.
Vedius is smokin something, he can't say that Caps has performed poorly internationally, he can't say that Humanoid is better internationally then Caps cause that's just not true. I think people hold him to such a high standard compared to everyone else. My man has been on top form since 2018, that's 5 years now while being regarded as the top player in his team, when every opponent prepares for him, target bans him almost every game, and he reinvents himself time after time and stays relevant. I'll give you the guide for how to prepare against humanoid: Ban whichever of these is the most meta at the moment - Azir-Orianna-Viktor. Congratulations, you won against humanoid (or larssen, another 3 trick-poney). People always try to descredit Caps, but he's just the best EU has ever had period. He is built different. 2018 2nd place. 2019 2nd place. 2020 loses to the champion. 2021 the team didn't function well, but the strategy was to play for Caps. 2022 still very solid. 2023 on top of the game again, with a LARGE gap to other EU mids. 70% winrate top 48 Challenger in Korea. What else do you want from this man? Just give him the praise he deserves
Well, is it fair to be upset about some injust opinions about your favorite player and do the exactly same thing to other player? Humanoids first LEC match champ picked was Aatrox mid, he has montages of Qiyana and Akali plays from LEC matches, he had some epic plays with TF, Jayce, Tristana and Sylas and still he is beast on control mages like Ori, Azir and Victor. You can try to picture other players as lesser, to support your argument, but it would be fair to point out qualities of someone you want make shine above the others without throwing shadows on the others based on your feelings, not facts. Btw Caps is goat LEC mid.
@@Jemnej I might've gotten carried away, i was triggered xD
@@Jemnej Caps LEC goat. Perkz western goat. I wish they play together again with Perkz as adc literally semi finals team with them on team.
@@Jemnejagree, the humanoid name drop was just weird, dont think humanoid would have been close to showmaker or rookie. Thats what he mentioned when caps dint preform. Like they were not the best players in the world or close at the time.
I've always agreed with Vedius' takes but to say Caps has performed poorly internationally is one I hard disagree with and I'm glad Azael pushed back on this. Caps has been one of the Wests best performing players in recent league history. He was a key player in both the FNC and G2 teams that made it all the way to finals
i think what he's trying to say is that when it comes down to the bigger matches vs important teams (such as finals) he's performed far worse than his norm~
@@mwbwyatt nah caps has been really clutch, but in 2022 he didn't do the best
recent history? like 2022 worlds 2023 msi ? bruv i love Caps but at MSI the only reason G2 lost was Caps he was heavy underperforming . But still lets hope Claps is back for worlds
2018 and 2019 isn't recent by lolesport standards lmao

Shortest International game is actually IG beating T1 in 15 minutes and 57 seconds at MSI 2019. It hurts as an LPL fan when people usually forget this 😢. They remember IG collapse in semis and G2 MSI win and remember T1 win on second shortest game as the shortest. Being one person, I can only yell out so loudly...
Difference is, T1 played something very out of their comfort zone. It was Taric, and Sona if I remember it right. IG was able to capitalize on that by using very aggressive, and early power spike comp. In comparison, T1 beat MAD on standards draft, and on a scaling comp.
It was Sona taric , I think. And ig had draven .
They got the win but , not too impressed since , T1 give up basically.
Wow, this was one of the best League podcast episodes ever. Felt like no wasted time, and everyone got equal time to speak. Just wish they'd focused on matchups a bit longer but 10/10 lads

This podcast constantly popped into nonsensical chatter lol, love it
I think if seeding was to be revised, lck/lpl 1-2s pool 1, lec/lcs 1st and lck/lpl 3rd pool 2, rest are pool 3.
Fantastic episode. I want to mention something, though. 46:49 The talk about how they wanted to go hard LCK style, practice like Korean teams. But they can't. Because the quality of solo-queue time, and the quality of the scrims, are not going to instill great habits. When they go to Korea, and start dealing with solo queue in Korea, where its a different standard? They'll improve. But then they eventually have to go back to NA. So you can try to emulate LCK all you like. But until the quality of opponent in the home region improves? They'll slide back.
Such a fun podcast! Just rubs me wrong how Vedius was so mean to Caps the whole time 😄 /s
This was so good
The POG State intro music + Atlus intro line really had me hahahaha
Loved the episode and the shows in general, but the Spotify upload of this episode desperately needs some compression/audio balancing. It goes from barely audible to ear-shattering constantly and made it hard to listen to during my commute. The youtube version seems better.
great episode but please add timestamps
They're in the description.
The chances of all 8 lck/lpl teams going through isnt great.
Even if we assume that 5 lpl/lck teams go through in the 3-0 and 3-1 sections. In the 2-2 matches, you have 3 eastern, and 3 western teams. Odds are decent that they'll draw eachother
Oh yeasss pog stage for worlds!!!
Caps is good, to say he is playing bad is unfair. But, and this is a big but.. he has not been able to step up to the greats internationally in a while. He used to be one of them back in 2018 and 19, but nowdays, eh less so. He is still the best western mid by a large margin, but to say he can keep up with any of the top 4 eastern midlaners across LCK and LPL is in my PERSONAL opinion a bit of a cope. That said, he is still more then good enough to be the midlaner for G2 and while, I think he is not the strongest player on there I also don't think he is dragging the team down.
The sad thing for Vedius is that the episode ended with a :47 😂
Can't believe that we need NA fan and castor to put some respect on Caps XD
8:21 is when they start talking about the League.
Vedi having zero faith in any team but G2 as always. What a representative.
God forbid he have an opinion
That's because nobody but G2 and fnatic has ever proved they can win anything. I adore MAD and they're my favorite EU team but let's be honest
So in your opinion a representative would be someone who lies or talks BS, like a politician?
I mean has any EU team shown promise to do anything bar G2 in last few WORLDS?
Asia is unbeatable because they’re not that good so Eu catches up to them. But then Eu throws with happy picks and support nasus. Then Eu loses and the cycle repeats. Pyke mid too.

Caps is the most successful western player (and midlander) at international tournaments in league ever. He is known as the western Faker.
How can Vedius say Caps does not perform well internationally??!! No wonder Azael woke up and disagreed!
I feel like they were talking about different things tho.
Vedius was completely right that caps never can hold up with the best team at the tournament.
It’s not even flame, caps is still making it work against other really good competition.
But at most caps is able to go even vs Asian mids and even though caps had a fine summer playoffs.. my god this was one of the worst year for caps for sure. It’s not even like he had insane competition because his team was so dominant 😅
So I kinda agree with both takes from azael and vedius
Finally Worlds is here!!
I dont agree that the best 8 teams will get out the majority of the time, they even said it in this video. Even if you assume that the eastern teams (or top 8 same premise) wins every single match against the other 8 teams there is still a 60% chance that one of them doesnt get out. Like that literally means that even if there is an astronomical gap between the top 8 and bottom 8 the correct 8 teams still doesnt get out the majority of the time. And thats not even accounting for 1 or 2 bo1 upsets which will deffinetly happen because its.......... bo1's.
Let's go azael!
36:53 There was no MSI in 2020 because of Covid...
I still hope NA manages to go 0-15 at worlds this year, we can do it
It's not possible for all 3 teams to go 0-3. If all 3 teams are 0-2 after the first 2 rounds, at least 1 team will go 1-2.
@@FukoHasStarfish dont break my hopes like that man :(
@@donutlie315NA can still go winless against every region besides itself.

About caps being a liability for the team, I totally agree. Not to say that caps is bad or anything, but it felt to me like whenever his team started falling apart (fnc and g2) it was him getting destroyed first. For example the games versus Rookie and DionB, it felt like he had no answer to them when he lost.
So it's not to say caps is bad, he is the goated EU midlaner. Though i totally understand Vedius viewpoint.
you can't add the "phoria" part without my boy Drakos!!!
Podcast lineup of GODS
Over the course of his career, Caps has been the best performing Western player of all time both domestically and internationally. He has had his bad games, even bad tournaments - but quite frankly, Vedius is absolutely delusional with this take.
It's like saying Rooney was underwhelming because he didn't win a ballon'dor. Just really, really foolish.
ATLUS WOW IM A BIG FAN
34:20 Hey Vedius, I had to pick a comment of mine from earlier this year but I did (the) minimum research of LCK and LPL teams at Worlds after the LPL Boom:
Every year since 2019 China has been considered the best region easily and yet the number od teams qualifying to Worlds Semi-finals has Korea winning 8-6 against China and in quarters Korea is also ahead 14-10 from 2019 to 2022. I agree that Chinese teams feel better #1 to #4 but I never count Korea out, specially after DRX miracle run.
I hope we can expect atleast one rep from each region in the coming episodes.
1:03:00 That would not be the first time all of LCK teams did not get out, in 2018 Gen.G went 1-5 and became the first Korean team to not get out of groups.
Seed the groups better. 1st group should be top two from Korea and China. That's the only change this needs
They won't do that because riot wants western teams in the quarterfinals
We shall see how it all plays out. Swiss format should course correct easily
man riot should make a podcast
