Man, you really did a great job providing this informative video on the front and rear camera installation on the 2015+ Mercedez-Benz. Clear and precise instructions. Really appreciate it.
After looking for a few years trying to decide which camera to buy, we just installed this in our 2015 C300 and 2015 GLA250. The dash cameras arrived very quickly (around 5 days) and it took us just about two hours to install both. The hardest part was uninstalling the rain sensor cover 🤦🏽♂️ and figuring out where and how to plug the cables in the GLA (the fuse box is different than the one on this video). We did some research online and done. Image quality is great and everything works perfectly. The App is very user friendly and easy to install and set. Thank you so much for the amazing installation video.
Great video! I purchased this same dashcam from DMP Car Design in 2021 for my girlfriend's Mercedes C300 Sport. I ran the wiring to the trunk fusebox as shown and set it up to turn on when the car is started. It's still running fine after 2-1/2 years. The 32GB card holds about 6 days of videos based the amount of local driving we do. I have the video quality set to the highest setting, and there has never been a problem with the micro-CD card keeping up (you should use a card like the one shown in the video, which is designed for high speed writing.) If you're on a long trip, however, it fills up in a few hours and then starts overwriting the oldest videos, which is by design. Therefore, if there's a certain video you want to keep while on a road trip, you will need to download the specific video you want to your phone when you take a break from driving. My girlfriend likes that fact that the front camera is built into the rearview mirror housing and can't be detected when you look at the car. The rear camera is not noticeable due to the rear window tint, but it can be seen if you are specifically looking through the glass to see if a camera is there. All told, it's a great dashcam and has held up well, even when the car is closed up and sitting in the hot sun.
Here ya go again. Another amazing video. It looks like the cam came with the car. That’s looks a lot better than other suction sitting on the side where everyone knows you have one . Awesome!
@@TheFlexxGarage Thanks for that tip… Just reached out via email to confirm the cam for my car. It appears that yours and mine are the exact same setup with just the rain sensor - aside from mine being a coupe. Because of a previous video I also bought their Apple CarPlay module with mirror link. Will be using your install video as an installation guide for myself. Thanks again for sharing your insights.
Hey Flexx! Long time subscriber here! Just was wondering if you have any update on pros/cons with this kit after two years of use? Was looking to pick this up for the holidays, and would certainly appreciate any recent feedback you may have (if any). Hope all is well with the move to TX! Definitely looking forward to the continued great content that is on the way. God bless!
It’s still on my car and I love it. Working awesome. No issues at all. No issues in the cold or 100 degree TX Weather. Never have to really screw around with it. Just set it and forget it. Maybe once every few months, it will alert me to format the memory card so the memory is always in good working condition. I can format it right from the app. Definitely a must for any car.
Really clear explanation and step by step. I don’t have a car that has a rain sensor. Is there a box made to have a similar install in a Camry or Civic ? My kids and their friends unplug the dashcam. I want a covert install like you demonstrated so it is less obvious.
I done a similar set up all worked. I have a separate front and rear dash cam. The front dash cam is connected through the cigarette lighter this also has a usb port at the back. The rear dash cam is connected to that. There is USB port inside the compartment storage. I have not connected to those port. However, for some reason the rear dash cam, the date and time always seems to reset. It could be either the power is not too great through the front dash cam cigarette usb connection or I should use the usb in the storage unit instead or the rear dash cam is faulty. It is quite old and basic.
Thank you Flex. I just bought a 2015 W205 C300 diesel hybrid, Amg line premium. My wife wants us to get this because of some crazy drivers here in the UK as shes a new driver. I also would the dashCam turned on even when car is off so it can detect if anything goes wrong. I will like to ask if it is likely going to impact much on my car battery or its health considering the car is Hybrid and they usually starts on the electric/battrey pack rather than the engine. 🙏🏼
When the car is off, the offline mode doesn’t record all the time. It only records when it detects motion around in the viewing area of the camera or it senses an impact jarring the car. And you would set the duration of the recording so it doesn’t stay on all the time. It will only drain the battery if the camera keeps detecting motion (like a cat keeps playing in front of your car for hours and hours). Lol.

Yeah. It was a great idea. If you actually know how dashcams work or any camera with a lense, then you would know night is more important then day. At night is when you can see the difference between crap cameras and good cameras. If a camera can perform well at night, then it’s gauranteed it’s gonna perform even better during the day. If you wanna go buy a dashcam based on how the video looks during the day, then go ahead. But don’t be crying when somebody hits your car at night and the video looks like junk and you can’t see their plate.
Anyone know what that rain sensor cover clip is actually called...took mine off today to take photos and one of the clips connector pieces was broken off.
Great video! Quick other question - do you know whether a complete Augmented Reality (U19) Kit for one of the other Mercedes Models (for example GLA, CLA) would be compatible to add to the new Mercedes C Klasse (W206)?
Hi .would I need Wi-Fi in the car for camera to work.I have a dash cam on motorcycle and same thing needs Wi-Fi turned on but obviously I don’t have Wi-Fi on the bike if ygm
Not sure. You gotta ask DMP. And loop recording depends on what card size and resolution you are recording on. And if you are recording just video or video+sound
Why did you use the fusebox in the trunk when there are 2 fuse boxes inside the car: the driver side on the side of the console and the other one on the passenger side below the glove compartment?
No. The WiFi connection from the phone is just only between the phone and the dashcam if you wanna watch videos or download them or delete them. WiFi connection has more bandwidth so video can be transferred.

Hi Flexx, love your videos, you make everything look easy! I have a W205 Cabriolet. Two questions: where do I route the cables to get to the trunk, and I assume I will not be able to use the rear camera with a convertible top?
Yeah. Convertible is tough. I’m dealing with how I can use a rear camera on my R8 Spyder. The rear camera is not water proof so it can’t be ran near the rear license plate. I think for your case, it’s probably better if you mount it on the front windshield pointing back so it can capture footage while the top is down. It’s better than nothing.

Yes. As long as the screen has cellular service shut off when you connect WiFi to the camera. For some reason, the camera would only connect to the app on my phone if cellular is shut off.
Is the rca yellow plug for the android screen so u can view it on there? I was pondering on getting the dashcam for the w204 but I have the android screen so I was double checking
you don't need to use it. The android screen uses wifi. No point in tearing apart the radio to run that wire. Plus, it's not like you need to look at the screen or your phone all the time. What are you talking about? You don’t need to connect the phone to it until you want to review footage or download it. A dashcam is designed to work on its own. You angle the camera the right way during setup and it auto records when car is on and auto shuts off when the car is off. There’s zero point to have it connected to your phone to see what you’re recording live. Your eyes belong on the road…not a screen.

I bought the same dash cam thanks to you, i set it up just the way how you did, it works perfectly but i have to turn it on and off manually( using the switch button) it doesn't work with me turning the car on or off, what i have to do Flexx?
Thank you in advance
You didn’t wire it up right if you have to manually turn it on and off. If you bought it from DMP then they can walk you through making it work right.
@@TheFlexxGarage i will give them a call and fix it out, thanks again
How has the camera been treating you? Looking into possibly getting this one
Do they still sell this?
Yeah. Go look in the video description. The link is there.
@@TheFlexxGarage Thx!!!!
Good jod
Why you didn’t use any fuse? There’s no protection
Go watch it again and look at the 3 wires in the beginning when i explain each part of the kit. And go watch the part of the video where I install the 3 wires and look at my drawing.
I recommend you stop skipping around on the video and pay attention. Hahahha.
The only problem is while recording, you cant use the your mobile phone Internet.
Will this work on the 2016 e350?
Not sure. Go look in the link if your car model is supported.
