I've heard someone say that other slavic women would decorate themselves with river pearls often,
also, if a girl is beautiful we say that shes ''milk and blood'' which might also be reflected in her coloring ( color theme white with red-ish blush)
also in my opinion I feel like Natasha looks like a czech fairytale character called ''Bílá paní'' (lady in white) which is a ghost of a royal woman that goes around hunting castles, but she's a kind hearted woman and usually pretty harmless :D
And with Zima being russian for Winter, it fits so well.
She reminded me of a Eastern European folklore character too!

I don’t even collect dolls. I quite literally don’t own a single one; I just watch your channel and Clawdeena9 because I appreciate the art of these dolls. But even I, someone who is not really in the doll collecting world, can recognize how stunning this is, how well executed and impeccably thought out and designed it is, and how badly Mattel needs to step up its game in comparison. MGA is really putting the old guard to shame.

My grandmother was a chemist in soviet Lithuania/ukraine, and one of the things she worked on is chemical hair dyes. With Natasha being a slavic name, and Zima being russian for Winter, she reminds me of my heritage. I just might have to get her!
OMG!!! That is so cool. What a fun connection you have to this doll. You definitely need her!!! And I have to say that I love that she's got Russian/Slavic name given the war. I think it's important for us all to be reminded that Russian people are awesome and wonderful, it's just their leadership that's at war with the West and hurting the Ukraine.
Zima is winter in most slavic languages, in Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Serbia and Montenegro we say the same.

It actually has a Latin origin and one of the meanings is "born on a Christmas day". I don't see anything Slavic in her at all and she is creeping me out like bones of a corpse.
wow, MGA has really stepped up their game with the shadow high line! i swear the quality of the dolls get better and better with every release. her alternate outfit is absolutely gorgeous, and the earrings are just STUNNING!! i wasn't sure on how to feel about natasha when i saw the initial sneak peek photo with the whole group lineup, but after seeing an in-depth review from you, the beautiful details in her outfit have totally won me over 🥰the retail price is definitely worth what you get. also, margot looks amazing in natasha's clothing! i'd love to see how natasha would look in more colorful clothing 😍can't wait for the playlist
She's just such a cool idea.....I mean she's totally white....it's amazing!
I gotta say I love that the SH theme song calls RH "bougie" because those girls' families must make BANK. Avery has her own sports car, girl what! 😂 I also love the kinda more imaginative focuses of the SH line.
I've been really impressed seeing these dolls against people's colourful collections, it really makes them pop. They look so ethereal. I was only going to get Heather initially (she reminds me of one of the Bleeding Edge goth dolls I could never afford as a kid haha) but I've been so impressed, I might get more.
My only dissapointment is that they didn't really lean into the goth aesthetic with any of the dolls. With how popular it is again to dress that way, I'm surprised there isn't any gothic elements in the dolls.
heather is the closest to goth or grunge vibe I feel like. I hope down the line we get more goth looks in Shadow High

Loving the release of SH. I usually don't collect all the dolls in a line, for several reasons ( not enough space/ broke most of the time 😂). But for these I will buy all of them in the line. But Natasha is giving me a ghost bride vibe , I ❤️ that. I'm excited to see all of them.

These might be my first "Rainbow" High dolls I'll get.
Natasha alone is so beautiful?! Depending on her price I'll probably get her and maybe one of the others if I like how the dolls look.
At first I was honestly worried it'll look weird with that white skin colour since its really just white and the others gray but? So pretty? Wow.
Edit: With them I actually also get the feeling they're actually targeted more towards collectors than kids/younger teens.
A lot of people are saying they think collectors will like them better. I'm dying to see how kids react in stores. I might have to haunt the RBH aisle in Target :-)
Shadow High has some excellent PR people. I'm living for all these RUclips reviews and I am excited that they put so much effort into these boxes with each individualized experience for each unboxing I'm watching. Chef kiss!!
I absolutely love the design of these dolls I find them interesting from any doll line we have seen before !!!I think the skin tones are highly more interesting they remind mind me of aliens or paranormal beings which I know is not everyone's style but I love it how they are reaching out to the more Gothic side of potential buyers who want to see more Gothic dolls then all rainbow and colors. Rainbow high has serious competition also I think it's great for the color blind people so when the people look at their doll they're seeing exactly what they see their doll so they're not missing out on anything
I cannot wait to hear what the backstory is for the dolls. Like why are they like this? Is this natural or did they do something...what's the story???????
Wow Melissa 🖤🤍🖤 absolutely loving Shadow High 🖤🤍🖤 the T-shirt looks awesome on you. Natasha almost looks like she’s made of white china or porcelain, such a unique skin tone. Really like the take on ‘greyscale’ that MGA are doing and will definitely be adding these to my collection 🖤🤍🖤
I’m OB SESSED. Love love love the concept and execution of these dolls. And I’m so excited to have neutrals items for the rh kids to use. This whole line is so innovative and artistic…I hope they thrive and continue to push the concept even more towards an edgier rh. I’m so here for a different aesthetic, even grungier and hopefully even fantasy one day.

I'm the most excited for Shanelle. She looks so striking from the promo photos! I like Natasha's design and clothing but I think that she would have looked better with a different face mold.

I am so happy that MGA finally came out with grey scale dolls! It would be cool to have a couple of these in my collection. I especially want Luna to go with Sunny and the one with split hair has my interest too! So going to look through Walmart’s site to see when they will be out.

I'm so happy that she has a slavic sounding surname, scince I'm czech and it seems like noone is ever talking about our country, it's true that shes much more likely to be russian or ukraian but until it gets confirmed just let me have my headcannon of us being czech sisters thank you!
P.S. I'm gonna bother yet another set of people with this fact which is: in many slavic languages the ends of surnames end with different letters with different genders (for example for czech its the -ová : Nováková, Svobodová... and if Natasha's name was gramatically correct in the czech language, she'd be called Nataša Zimová)
also zima = winter / cold weather in czech and other slavic languages

I like these because they are different more than because I like the aesthetic itself. I will probably get at least one, but not this one. She really looks like a ghost, which could be great if that’s what you are looking for. It’s a bonus the clothes can be shared with other RH dolls.

Holy crap!!! MGA is spoiling doll lovers with these! I have RH Jett and Kia for myself, not to mention my niece's fairly large collection ... yet they just released 3 new sub-lines, wow! I think my mom and I have had more fun with these dolls than the 9-year-old, LOL!
Even my non doll collecting friends love looking at my Rainbow High collection. They are just blown away by the fashions and I agree!

I like the commitment MGA has gone into this theme. I like Zima, but can't wait to see how they handle all the other gray scale dolls. I think I will like the all black doll, mainly because I had to go through the "Goth" phase with each of my children as they entered their later teens. It would be nice to have a doll that reminds me of that, but her picture doesn't look Goth, so may it won't remind me...anyway, I think I will like her.
Shanelle didn't end up looking goth at all...too fancy I think. But I think Heather has some good goth potential!

I am fascinated by how this line almost seems to be modeled after black and white photos???? I don't know how to explain it. Like, we've seen black and white as a design before, obviously, but this doll especially looks like a black and white photograph turned into a doll, if that makes sense. She's just so different!

Natasha and the other dolls are all so stunning! Natasha and Shanelle are tied for my favorite, but I honestly really like all of them! IMO Ash is definitely the best boy doll they’ve released

Hi Melissa! Great video again, loved your looks. I haven't got one RH doll, I am a Barbie collector through and through. I can appreciate the quality and looks of other dolls also, the RH dolls quality overall is really good, great fashion and the accessories ( house, pool etc) are fantastic would buy them for sure. With SH I can only see one thing ... MGA's answer to Monster High shady as shady can be. Doll wigs at dawn LOL.

Just to clarify for anyone worried that this doll is not vegan, those are not feathers. It's a type of yarn cut into little strips to look like feathers and is most likely made from a type of plastic.
I came here to say this too, the feathers look like eyelash yarn.
