If you really want a treat, check “Coal Miners daughter” a song of Loretta’s that became the name of the movie about her life. One of the best movies I haver seen. It won and was nominated for like ten Academy Awards. Won like three I know best actress and best supporting actor. Not sure about Best Movie. It’s just an awesome movie 🍿!
Loretta ain't messing around :) She's a great story teller & artist. Here biggest hit called "Coal Miners Daughter" is autobiographical and it is a country banger...you would like it Holla! Keep em coming!!
My Great Uncle spent a lot of time standing behind her right shoulder. He spent about 30 years as her lead guitarist. The Coalminers band isn’t in this video but still loved this performance
This is based on a true story. Loretta’s husband cheated all the time but never left her & Loretta didn’t believe in divorce. One day her daughter came in from school crying. She told Loretta the bus driver told her her daddy was gonna leave Loretta for her. When her husband came in she had her daughter tell him what the bus driver said. He took Loretta & his daughter to the bus driver’s house & told her in front of them he didn’t love her & he would never leave his family for the likes of her.
Reba McEntire- You should check out some of her others like "Fancy," "Whoever's in New England," "Does He Love You?" "The Night the Lights went out in Georgia," "I'm a Survivor," "Cathy's Clown."
Deanna Carter-Strawberry Wine Sara Evans-Could not ask for more, A little Bit stronger The Judds-Love Can Build a Bridge, Grandpa LeeAnn Womack-I Hope you Dance Alison Krauss
An underated Loretta Lynn song is The Pill. It's a pretty straightforward song, but it was written when birth control was still VERY controversial (many radio stations refused to air it) and did alot to promote the availability of the pill in rural communities.
She wrote that song because her husband was "test driving" other "cars" that thought they could snag him but she squashed all that. I admire this woman so much. I grew up listening to her and we feel like she's a part of our family. She is still singing and putting out albulms at almost 90 years old.
She has a few songs similar to this and they were all inspired by her husband’s serial cheating! But they loved each other and Loretta just wrote songs about it! 😂. Another of my favorites is, “Fist City”! She has so many other great songs that I’d be here all day if I listed them! Another of my favorite Loretta Lynn songs is a duet with Conway Twitty called “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man”! Her twin daughters, Peggy and Patsy Lynn (The Lynns) have a similar song called, “Woman to Woman”! Those two ladies have some great harmonies but I haven’t heard much from them after their first album and heard they had decided to concentrate on their families! Loretta’s sister younger Crystal Gayle also has some great songs! Some of my absolute favorites are, “Ready for the Times to Get Better, You Never Miss a Real Good Thing (Till He Says Goodbye), I’ll Get Over You, Wrong Road Again, Talking in Your Sleep & Why Have You Left the One You Left Me For”! Loretta’s granddaughter, Tayla Lynn was part of a trio with two other descendants of famous Americans. Caroline Cuthbert is a descendant of Daniel Boone and Jennifer Wayne is John Wayne’s granddaughter! I love their song, “He Better Be Dead”! Unfortunately they didn’t have any other success after that one song and parted ways.
Tammy Wynette "I don't wanna play house", "DIVORCE", "Stand by your man" , LeAnn Womack "I'll think of a reason later" , "Never again ,again, ", Mindy McCready "Ten thousand angels", " Maybe he'll notice her now" , DeAnna Carter " Strawberry wine" , Did I shave my legs for this" Some other Loretta Lynn songs "Fist city" , "One's on the way" , "Coal miners daughter", "Don't come home a drinkin' (with lovin' on your mind)" ,Carrie Underwood "Jesus take the wheel", Reba McEntire "Take it back" , "Why haven't I heard from you" , " The night the lights went out in Georgia" " Does he love you (official video ) with Linda Davis", Trisha yearwood "She's in love with the boy", "Walk away Joe", "How do I live"
And ditto on Callie Davila's Miranda Lambert suggestion, and I'll add "Kerosene" by her as well. And all of Crick Rock Farm's Trisha Yearwood suggestions.
You should take a night in, and watch Coal Miner's Daughter. It's her life story, and it's one of my all time faves. I used to watch it with my dad all the time when I was a little girl. No reaction necessary. Lol! Just watch it.
Loretta lynn is referred to as the first lady of country music. There is a movie called coal miners daughter that is all about her life getting married at 14. When her songs came out country radio stations would not play them she became best friends with patsy cline. She writes all her own songs. She has alot of grest songs but one of my favorites is fist city. Please react to fist city.

If you love Garth Brooks you will love Trisha Yearwood his wife. He might be a better Entertainer but she can sing him under the table. In addition to her debut single mentioned above please check out " heaven heartache and the Power of Love," " this is me you're talking to," walkaway Joe, the song remembers when, a duet with Garth called in another's eyes they both sang in 1997 when they were both married to other people. No shade but that Tonight Show performance on that song is absolutely Electric. And lastly while I do not think this song is her best I would like you to do "how do I live" and compare it to the LeAnn Rimes version. They were recorded and released literally within days of each other. It was quite a controversy back in the day. Tricia had a country hit with it and LeAnn had a big pop hit with it. Leann's version greatly outsold Trisha. Trisha still sold 3 million copies let's keep it real. And even though LeAnn was given the Primetime spot to performing on the Grammys in 1998 Trisha went home with the trophy right after Leann's performance. That's what passed for juicy country scandal back in the day. But In fairness both women kept it classy. But the songwriter Diane Warren made out like a bandit with the publicity selling millions of copies of both versions. I would like to get your opinion all these years later
