I received this truck yesterday and immediately mounted the tires on beadlocks. It out performed my built SCX24 C-10 out of the box. The smooth control has spoiled me. My 1/10th scale rigs could never reach this level of performance. Save your time and money with this rig.

All it needs is some good tires, a little brass on the front and some good oil filled shocks and it is a good little truck. Thanks for the review.

I was always jealous of Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear for having the best job on the planet. But working for Amain would come in a very close second.
Have been watching the releases from Furitek for the last year or so. They have become a premium small scale company. Really digging these trucks.

Sweet truck. Building up these small crawlers can add up super quick. If you got a FCX24 and added a brushless system and the new chassis you are already at like $300 in no time.

About the price: A Furitek motor/ESC combo costs almost as much as an entire new SCX24, so I think with the added value of the additional parts this is decent value.

Just built a scx24 with a bunch of goodies.

    That's an amazing price.
When you modify anything whether it be SCX24 or TRX-4M, you're already at $150, then you're spending $150 for the brushless Furitek system... now you're at $300. Need links, more brass, tires, etc. You're well into $450+ on a TRX-4M or SCX24. the 4x4 Cayman Pro is an amazing deal

I have the Furitek Hiroyama, which is just superb. I've got monster truck wheels as well as Treal beadlocks, so it can be a micro stunt truck or micro rock bouncer (looks great with my modded Ryft). I have a couple of SCX24's which I've spent similar amounts of $ on, so to me the value of these rigs is decent. The quality of the electronics is next level and I'll be getting one of the dedicated crawlers next.

Update: my scx24 is now entirely aftermarket, excluding transmission, skid, and driveshafts, and I have over $750 into it, and I imagine it's only slightly more capable than the cayman, largely owing to the fact mine has a lexan body and immensely heavy axles, hubs, and wheels

Nice overview, thank you. So it looks like with some adjustments one could fit some nice 1:18 body on it (maybe doing something crazy like converting the 6x6 into a 4x4 and putting the FMS K10 body on it). On such a high-end piece I would definitely want some oil shocks. Do you know which ones would fit?

    • @willyjimmy8881
      @willyjimmy8881 Год назад +1

Traxxas built this thing to sell overpriced hopup parts. Everything needs upgraded. Everything. The esc and motor is horrible. Has bushings everywhere. Have to buy the light kit seperate. The shocks suck. But of course Traxxas has everthing for sale additionally at stupid prices. Get the T-Hunter if you want a cheap base to upgrade, or the FCX24 that's basically a short wheelbase 18th scale.

It's good for beginners who don't have the time to build a whole truck, or just don't want to. I won't be buying one, but I'm glad that it exists.

Excellent motor and tranny, then junk wheels, tires, shocks, plastic drive shafts, axials, portal covers, on $15 chassis,
    and no 4ws...
So $500, THEN have to start dumping money into upgrading EVERYTHING BUT the motor and tranny 😂😅🤣
"STOCK" Axial XC-1 $150 blows it outta the water, AND has 4ws...
Fir $150, buy XC1 you'll have plenty of money left fir upgrades...
But i do agree that the scx24 fails all the way around, and is way more expensive to get hopped up to be in the category of this truck or the XC-1...
But the XC-1 will eat them both up and spit them out, right outta the box...
