I received this truck yesterday and immediately mounted the tires on beadlocks. It out performed my built SCX24 C-10 out of the box. The smooth control has spoiled me. My 1/10th scale rigs could never reach this level of performance. Save your time and money with this rig.
All it needs is some good tires, a little brass on the front and some good oil filled shocks and it is a good little truck. Thanks for the review.
I was always jealous of Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear for having the best job on the planet. But working for Amain would come in a very close second.
Have been watching the releases from Furitek for the last year or so. They have become a premium small scale company. Really digging these trucks.
Full scale=spectacular job. RC= Voyeur wannabee.
Wow, this looks majestic, such a nice model
Excellent review. Very impressed how quiet the truck is!
Yeah! It barely makes a peep when it's slowly crawling.
-Brett
Would love this but haven’t been able to afford a new rc in a few years but things slowly looking up amazing video man
I was just thinking about the FMS Atlas 6x6 / fcx24 power wagon while taking a leak and said to myself "ah if only I could just buy it already optimized, with better shocks etc.." and this video comes up on my youtube
Sweet truck. Building up these small crawlers can add up super quick. If you got a FCX24 and added a brushless system and the new chassis you are already at like $300 in no time.
About the price: A Furitek motor/ESC combo costs almost as much as an entire new SCX24, so I think with the added value of the additional parts this is decent value.
Just built a scx24 with a bunch of goodies.
Would have been cheaper and likely better off to start with this.
It’s amazing the amount of money you can spend on these small scale trucks.
I like it alot and i liked the comparison in size to the other products. Thanks! I think i want one!
That's an amazing price.
When you modify anything whether it be SCX24 or TRX-4M, you're already at $150, then you're spending $150 for the brushless Furitek system... now you're at $300. Need links, more brass, tires, etc. You're well into $450+ on a TRX-4M or SCX24. the 4x4 Cayman Pro is an amazing deal
I have the Furitek Hiroyama, which is just superb. I've got monster truck wheels as well as Treal beadlocks, so it can be a micro stunt truck or micro rock bouncer (looks great with my modded Ryft). I have a couple of SCX24's which I've spent similar amounts of $ on, so to me the value of these rigs is decent. The quality of the electronics is next level and I'll be getting one of the dedicated crawlers next.
Fred savage! Good to see ya buddy!
Everyone complaining about price has obviously never built out a micro crawler. You'll have $500 or more into one by the time you're done.
I have 2 SCX24 built, 2 TRX4 built, and 1 of these. = $5000 total. It's been an exciting couple months. $369.99 seems reasonable
Spoken like a true privilege trust fund gentrified yuppy brat
I have probably 400-500 into mine and it's still on stock ESC and motor, this seems like a great deal to me
Update: my scx24 is now entirely aftermarket, excluding transmission, skid, and driveshafts, and I have over $750 into it, and I imagine it's only slightly more capable than the cayman, largely owing to the fact mine has a lexan body and immensely heavy axles, hubs, and wheels
That looks like the perfect platform to make a scale version of the off-road wrecker build from Matt's Off-road Recovery.
Love the banana.
Damn DuDe! Wherre did that beard come from? haha was not expecting that
I like them but for that sort of money I’d rather buy upgrades for my fifth scale trucks! They’re probably going to be even more expensive here in the U.K. ! Great video
SWEET Truck guys!!
HELLO FROM V&B SPEED..FURITEK IS KILLING IT THIS YEAR😊🏁👍🚀🚀🚀
hey i liked the way you ca glued the tires on
Thanks. That trick came from our lab tech and former pro driver, Chad Bradley.
-Brett
A beard! A beard on Brett! Lol. Great video Brett, very informative as always!
the only thing these need is options for 4ws. not sure how you would manage, maybe just the last axle steers at 50% of the front axle and the middle stays straight? awesome video and really envious of your awesome job :)
I like how quiet it is
Nice overview, thank you. So it looks like with some adjustments one could fit some nice 1:18 body on it (maybe doing something crazy like converting the 6x6 into a 4x4 and putting the FMS K10 body on it). On such a high-end piece I would definitely want some oil shocks. Do you know which ones would fit?
Check for the aluminium fcx24 shocks, they're oil fillable and they probably fit right away. And i agree with your idea, that would look amazing.
@@tarantula-man Thanks!
Honestly I wanted to sjip this video, because I just ordered an AX24. But the I read 6x6. And now we're talking.
Great rig, thanks for showing, are you shipping to Europe? This might be a great easzer egg for me.
Hey Brett,
Are you going to review the Traxxas TRX4-M?
I’m thinking about getting one when they arrive here in Australia.
Thanks
Traxxas built this thing to sell overpriced hopup parts. Everything needs upgraded. Everything. The esc and motor is horrible. Has bushings everywhere. Have to buy the light kit seperate. The shocks suck. But of course Traxxas has everthing for sale additionally at stupid prices. Get the T-Hunter if you want a cheap base to upgrade, or the FCX24 that's basically a short wheelbase 18th scale.
Yeah you bet! We just recently bought the one shown in the video and we'll probably do an upgrade video with it. We haven't done anything with it other than unbox it, not even drive it, but it looks aesthetically great and the fit and finish is really polished up. It's impressive. Did you get one?
-Brett
They are crazy its the most expensive 1/24 ever it even beats my 1/24 bm racing bmr-x all brass car
That price is a tough pill to swallow. My Vorteks 3s arrives today and was not much more than this. Looks pretty cool tho just the same.
nice bret allways good videos
I know that I want one! Could it be ordered through AMain Hobbies? My lhs can't get it. Thanks!
Mine is on the way!
Which do you prefer 6x6 or 4x4.. really like your video
fun part if u get ur own trans mitter it would not be hard too make the 4x4 4wheel steer
Softer tries would help I would think. I know nothing about these things though. I have no idea how i landed on an rc vid, but here I am...lol
When will it be in stock?
Very informative video. Have a question. Could you replace the rear axle of the Cayman with a Cayman front axle to give both the front and back with 4 wheel steering? Thanks Bruce
Not sure Bruce. I imagine you'd just need a second front end to put on the back, including steering links, servo and axle. Sounds a little pricey, but it sure would be cool!
-Brett
Cool, very nice.
Hello Furitek Cayman Pro
The wheel nuts on a standard fcx24 is 5mm right??
I have a vintage 27inch tether boat hull, i was thinking about trading it for a cayman, am i getting a good deal? Or is the boat hull worth more?
now, just to find one (6x6 ARTR) in stock. :(
What battery connects to the cayman just received mine but came with no battery 😕 what type of connection am I looking for?
Cool little trucks, but for that kind of money, you can have a very descent 1/10 scale car
Is that motor micro or mini Komodo? Mine is the micro.
Lowkey miss the old song amain had in the intro
If someone considered this mini crawler from Fms is overpriced, you are wrong. How much money I put mini gladiator go over the price of this fms mini crawler. Don't hear and don't ley any person convince you, I have the furitek brushless system, I never regret the money I spend and I have many persons are jealous of what I have
What are the battery tray dimensions? Any preference on what batteries?! Thanks!
Its not specified but it's similar to SCX24 battery size. We used this battery: www.amainhobbies.com/ecopower-trail-scx24-2s-30c-lipo-battery-w-ph2.0-connector-7.4v-450mah-ecp-4015/p1280269
-Brett
Thanks for the reply, and I appreciate the recommendation. I have a couple Helios 650’s on the way. I will probably order a couple of the ones you suggested, too. Never too many batteries, amiright?! 🤙🏼
340+ for a 1/24th scale...?
This is getting out of hand.
And thats just the start, you can easily double that. These are a good starting point for someone wanting to drop $500+ in a mini crawler. The motor, electronics, and chassis are all top notch stuff and will make a great foundation.
Ron Swanson? Is that you?
Yo beard
Why are those so much money? I mean I can understand the 160 for the brushless system but it's got alot of plastic on it , they need to make theys things more affordable for the crawler community
nice beard
I need a flat plan truck
Do you ship to Australia 🇦🇺?
Yes we do! Some items cannot be shipped to Australia, hazardous items for example (nitro fuel, lipo batteries, etc) and some brands have region restrictions; we can only sell/ship Traxxas within the Americas for example.
-Brett
@AMain_Hobbies thanks have sent email
How do you call that cheap
Because you get everything without it costing $600
First time I seen a crawler that crawls very very good for $300
Very decent! But at least make it 1/16 scale for that exorbitant price.
Does it come with full bearings ?
Yes, it's all ball bearings.
-Brett
Друзья, как модель можно в Россию отправить?
It looks like my G Shot.
400 dollars for a tiny crawler you can buy a 1/10 scale crawler for that much or basically any other 1/10 scale
I'm sorry, but that's too expensive. I'll stick to my 1/10th crawlers. I don't mind spending the $500 + for them and paying for upgrades for them. Not paying that kind of money for a miniature version of a crawler.
$340?! Not worth it right off the bat
I like the idea of it, but you're spending the money it would take to fully customize a truck to your liking, on a truck that you might not love to begin with. It's good for beginners who don't have the time to build a whole truck, or just don't want to. I won't be buying one, but I'm glad that it exists.
Great video. But let’s be honest. This is way over priced. This should be around $100 to $150 max. This technology is very old and very cheap. Toy can get a nice traxxis rc for this price.
No you didn’t lol
I'm not BIG on the SMALL stuff. 😜
Excellent motor and tranny, then junk wheels, tires, shocks, plastic drive shafts, axials, portal covers, on $15 chassis,
and no 4ws...
So $500, THEN have to start dumping money into upgrading EVERYTHING BUT the motor and tranny 😂😅🤣
"STOCK" Axial XC-1 $150 blows it outta the water, AND has 4ws...
Fir $150, buy XC1 you'll have plenty of money left fir upgrades...
But i do agree that the scx24 fails all the way around, and is way more expensive to get hopped up to be in the category of this truck or the XC-1...
But the XC-1 will eat them both up and spit them out, right outta the box...
Wow..389 for 6x6? Crazy.
it's really wide and really long..that's what she said!
Beard makes you look 20 year older
Lol, id buy a 1/10 for that price..
$400 .00 LOL ..... Yeah right
A bit too tight on the price for my likings that's just my opinion
Cheap!?!?!???
$350ish? They are on drugs.
Recession scale RC. PAY MORE for smaller size.
Blurring Hobby and Toy thin redline.
looks like a wltoy clone from 2016....
There is no freaking way I'm spending $360 on that.
I like Furitek electronics. I run them in 3 different rigs… but these are extremely overpriced in all their forms.
1/24?.. Yeah right...
not at that price lol
Over priced. Its not worth it. Its not competition ready. Still need to add brass parts. Cheap wheels, cheap radio, cheap shocks that aren't smooth. I dont like my barebones kit, waste of money.
It's priced identical to 10 scale stuff, very overpriced
Sucks being broke
Rude, unnecessary comment.
Wanted a 400€ radio on a RTR? 🤦♂️
Take it easy... Maybe for someone wanting to buy all those parts separately this combo comes at a good price. 😉
chill out, it's a toy 😂
Overpriced junk.
$369 price all no good 1/24
Yep. That's the ugliest RC crawler yet. Good effort.
1st
For $400 I prefer buying an RC nitro than this little truck seriously you have to buy pretty much everything you still have to purchase the grill the glue for the tires the batteries I mean it's expensive for a little car
Well, Dong, your name suits you.
Pass
There out of there minds with the prices. Rips offs
You lost me at 340 without shipping. This is that bullshit
$400 cheap? I hate to see the expensive version LOL
