I saw one of your videos where the manufacturers name had been ground off. As a child my father had a friend that sold knives at the flea market. He would get a lot of factory seconds and give one of each model to me. That's what you have. Watching your videos has brought back my passion for knives. Thanks for everything you do.

Ok doc. I purchased a Kershaw federalist from betel I on your recommendation. When you showed it today my first thought was a full size sod buster. The blade looks very similar to me. I’m looking forward to getting it. Thanks for your channel. I watch every day.

Nice haul. About 3 weeks ago I scored a Para 3 with Spyderedge (full serrated) blade from pawn shop for $60. I talked them down from $70. They had its big brother, Paramilitary 2, that went back after 2 weeks later for $120. Both are in excellent condition. Just needed some light cleaning and oiling.

Yes sir I feel the same. I am working on redoing a case trapper that is my dad's but he is paralyzed after stroke. I just need to get a shield for a full size trapper. Have a great day Mr Kevin

I love my buck 110 I've carried one for years but for the past 6 months I've been caring the Buck 110 sport and I love it.

Wow yea ive never seen a locking folding hunter. Man doc you made a heck of a trade. That is a real slick looking spyderco with the wood handles. I really need to look into some spydercos myself. Great stuff brother. God bless and have an amazing memorial weekend

I agree with you Doc, I have bought a few new ones lately and actually got one today a new Trapper . From Sheppard Hills Cutlery in Lebanon MO. They have good deals on Case , Buck and a lot of other USA and German brands. In this store you can look, smell, feel and work the knives before purchasing. I like that a lot better than buying online. That way you can avoid QA problems. But I probably will start switching to Buck myself. They have and are coming out with a lot of super nice knives . I just love those Spit Fires 🔥!!!!

I been eyeballin the kershaw they make my favorite edc knives thats agood deal from wade almost 1000 dallars worth of knives for almost 200 dallars worth of case knives now you got knives for the auction and collection you inspired me to start selling and trading with my co workers lol

They say Case quality went down after Zippo bought out Case in 1993.
I've had no problems with Case, I guess I've been lucky.

I still like my Case knives. I had to return 2 Bear and sons knives last month. Cracks in the handles. I haven't retuned a buck, but I have a 503 that does not seat all the way. I buy more Case so the odds of getting one with a problem are higher. My Case Longhouse locks up good. It is disappointing to have to send any knife back for issues. There is a knife event in Bradford this summer. You should go to it. If you are a Club member you can tour the factory.

Agree with this. Besides making a great USA made product, they are awesome people over at Lynch Northwest. I’ve got 1 on my Spyderco Manix 2, and I’ll probably be getting another for my new Leek.

If you're looking for a really good USA made Spyderco slipjoint, check out the UK Pen Knife. Made for the UK market and their stupid knife laws. They come with plastic handles standard, which makes it super light, but there's a specific version sold through Heinnie Haynes with red g10 and s30v steel, and it's one knife I will absolutely never get rid of. Just classy looking, and seriously the most comfortable design in your hand. If the Chaparral feels good in your hand, you'll love the UK Pen Knife even more. It might be a bit more trouble to get one, but it's 110% worth it. they occasionally pop up on ebay too.

I have had the problems with the Case knives also. A Tony Bose Tribal Lock with a buggered bolster and 2 of the Case Select knives, that they are supposed to take extra care with. Question is , shouldn't they take the same care with all their knives?
Yes. They used too. In the last I ever had trouble with new case knives like there is today.
My Dad carried a 6165-L for years. He actually cut a guys ponytail off on his lunch hour one day because the guy said his knife wasn’t sharp. True story.🤣🤣💪🏻💯

I agree 100% on case quality. I just bought a buffalo horn folding hunter from case with a sheath one of the blades hits the liners, it's sloppy in the sheath and I've got butter knives that are sharper and that's a 200$ knife. The rough ryder copperhead knife less than 20 bucks is way sharper than the case.

The only time newer buck ever disappointed me was on the buck 110 lite my spring broke in a week

The folding hunter was absolutely Gorgeous!!! The Spyderco "Birds Eye Maple" handle Rocked!!! The pare military 2 was awesome, but this young senior could not afford such a luxury!!! At Menards I bought about a month ago a Camillus Chonk 440 on one side of the blade, Under the Camillus name its says Titanium!!! Long lanyard hole, index finger throw, and a lock blade!!! You should check this one out!!! RAZOR SHARP bee careful!!! About 20 something dollars!!!

Nice Benchmade! But if you wanna buy a Puukko, you should buy one from Finland. Its Homeland. One Example is Terava Jakkaripuukku. Perfect knives from Scandinavia. As good as Esee and Benchmade at a fraction of The price.😊👍🏻
I didn’t buy it…I traded for it. It’s very well made and was worth what I traded for it.
I found some case knives that have older price tags cuz they don't sell very many. I hit gold mine ended up getting 2 case knives for $100 what a bargain. All I can say about location is way up north in Michigan 😮

I used to get on whatnot a lot but too many people now to get a good deal 😂 Great knives Mr Kevin I am still waiting on stickers so I can send you a little something. Now they have even better steels on the para 2 and para 3, the manix 2, but k390 steel is the best steel imo, edge last a good year or better. Ok haven't been able to catch as many videos but I am trying to get to a 1000 subs before I get to where I can't. I got a 75th anniversary copper lock and cracks in the springs and such. I made a video saying I was not ordering case anymore and it hurts

that's why I don't buy case or Benchmade quality is better with Benchmade but they want so much money than what they give in materials for there knifes that's why it would be buck first then spiderco I have a few spidercos there fantastic knifes for pockets buck never left and offer knifes that are quality and great design for great price plus if you want to up grade they aton of stuff for you I think people kind of over look them so I always tell them you've should look and they seem to find something that they like 👍 I always look forward to your next one thanks doc😊

It is a shame what Case has become because it seems they have no QC. I like Rosecraft Blades traditional knives because their fit and finish are superb yet still comes in under $65. Yes, they are made in China but the QC is top notch and the China sticker is a peel off. I bought a "Second" with about a 40% discount and my wife and I think we see what the blemish is. Made in the USA is supposed to stand for quality and Case is not living up to the standards.
I have the Kershaw Topo limited edition and the USA made leek. We need to talk some trading around Mr Kevin. I love to horse trade

Do you collect any Remington knives
I have a few. Not many. I like the old Remingtons Pre 1933.
I own a benchmade knife that was purchased around 2000. I dropped it and chipped the handle, I tried to get company to fix or repair it. I was told by them that it was nothing they could do to help me. So I can’t buy another and have no trust in company. It’s made in china, hopefully the USA knives are better but I’ll probably never know.
You evidently bought a fake. They won’t work on fakes. All real Benchmades are made in the USA.
Everyone stopped buying from case because they started to give you bad quality in 2019 they stopped putting effort into the quality of the steel and fit and finish and you still pay a lot for case

I don't care for Benchmade! Out of the 1,000 plus knifes I own I have never wanted one! And that's not a scandy grind on it! They might call i5 a puukko but far from it! Scandys don't have a secondary bevel!

I really do not like ANY knife sheath for folders made by CASE. In my opinion, they are all FAIL.
The cheap belt cut-out on the back means your leather belt is rubbing directly on the knifes handles.
It is just a bad, cheap design, made to be easy, fast, cheap to make. I prefer a belt loop made and sewn onto the back like a BUCK 110 sheath.
Dont know why they make such a poorly made sheath, but I guess it is profitable, cause so many peole who are of the mind that anything made in America is so much better than anything made anywhere else, they buy em' up. I guess, there is a market for just about anything you can make.
