Amazing that this is 5 years old
The council hires bottom of the the pool road fixers.
They don't square off the hole...heck they don't even clean out the loose stuff or dry the water up.
Oh and they just tread on it to compress it and half stick the tape on top which falls off in days then the car tyres pull up what they did and the hole is worse than before.
    Yay technology

Thanks for the comment. When a second layer is needed, we do recommend to lay it slightly high as the material will compact more over time. The ThermaBand seals the joint and stops water getting in, which can freeze and make the pothole start to form again. A big problem in England.

How does this address the fact a pothole is usually the result of a collapsed foundation?

It does not but then again that is not true.

@@lenrichardson7349 I'd disagree. Usually potholes are resistant to filling due to freeze thaw damage to the base. You fill the hole, and it just reopens because the base collapses into the subsoil. Hence why you keep filling them and they keep reopening. Material just gets pushed through the hole in the base (foundation)

Shame the council don't use this method....when they "repair" them they looked better before! every pothole they repair looks like they used a knife and fork.
