- Next our project is repairing driveway and small, shallow asphalt potholes. We use Hanson Drive Reapir Macadam Asphalt(25kg) and SJC Bitumen Cold Joint Sealer.
1. Clean the pothole, remove debris
2. Apply bitumen Sealer
3. Put asphalt into the hole and compact it
4. That's it! You get repaired tarmac! In course of time, asphalt become harder. Don't use some hard broom to sweeping couple of weeks.

Thanks for the vid. I'm about to step outside right now and do just this! Very helpful.
It all went down great. Thanks
Kind of wish I had some potholes in my driveway to fill... and wish I had a driveway... and a house that the driveway leads to.
😆
Thanks so much! I was wondering how I could fill the three inch wide area between my yard border and the asphalt.
Fantastic video thank you for sharing with a rookie like me. How best to warm up the cold lay macadam before using as don't you need to get it warm first before laying? Also is it OK just using a block of wood and mallet rather than a tamper as that seems a much more cost friendly option 😁 when you were mixing the sand and gravel in the pot was that a mixture to smooth out the edges and did you use masking tape to protect the block pavers? Thanks again
Probably a bit late to answer this, but just in case. Have just done a very similar job on my driveway, the bags handily have on them that you can pour boiling water over to soften, but we just put them out in the sun unopened for half an hour beforehand. The tamper we used did seem to get smoother results than in the video, but takes a lot out of your arms, wrists and shoulders. Haven't tried the gravel mix trick yet.
great job. thanks for sharing
nice
Nice job. How does the tarmac dry though? From cold. Does it react with the air?
This why I wouldn't have a asphalt driveway
🙈🙈😬😮
What is it that you mix with the spray in the lid ?
Just sand and very small gravel, because asphalt (tarmac) is simply a mixture of sand and gravel. Nothing else :)
PS: Please note, sand and gravel should be dry to mix with bitum. Bitumen does not stick to wet surfaces
Cheers for that makes sense now 😅
