i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my login password. I love any help you can offer me.
@Waylon Emiliano thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Hi, I am a school caretaker and have had to do that job on the school driveway, you would find it easier if you do it on a warmer day it will be softer and compact down better. And I cant think of the name of it right now, but you can get a spray can of tar that you use after you have compacted it down, you spray it around the edges of the repair to help bond it to the old tarmac to stop it breaking up around the edges over time, it has lasted well on the school driveway and it gets a lot of traffic over it including delivery trucks :)
I left my bag of tarmac in the sun for a couple of hours then to make it a bit softer I put it in a bucket of very hot water for 5 minutes and it was really easy to use.
I did a little tarmac repair today, I got advice from the builders yard, he said to heat the tarmac up with petrol in a wheel barrow if cold temperatures, today was sunshine and the product was better to work with.
Good on u. I use 200 bags of cold lay per week. The Hanson cold lay tar is not a nice product to use so really well done. Becarful using a blow torch as it can burn off the bitumen in the tar. 👍
Nice looking repair, definitely a job best left to a hot summers day though, I have never had cold pack be that tough right out of the bag, so good on you.
It's a lot easier if it's warmer I put it in the footwell off the van or a car with the heaters on and then just use a garden folk to tees it into small pieces makes it easier to work with May be helpful if you ever had another repair to do also realy enjoy your videos keep up the good work 👍
Great job, if you use this product again try placing the bag in a bucket of hot water before you use it, it makes it much easier to work with and will pour out of the bag like a crumble. 👍
That is a GREAT tip! I've offered to do the neighbour's pot hole, so will try that... although I do know he has a blowtorch but don't like asking to borrow things lol
Thanks 😀 Funnily enough my father in law's been moaning that he's seen some in Lincolnshire especially, where the council have to keep hiring people in for the same holes as they've not been removing loose bits properly. Sounds like a profitable business 🤣
Nicely done, especially the hoover...good old henry is first out of my van and last back in. I wouldn't go fixing council tarmac as you are not insured and it could come back to bite you. Diesel , and wd40 of course, are great for cleaning your hands, club hammer and other metal surfaces. Where you have deeper/ round holes try and dig under the existing tarmac a few centimeters all the way round and then push the first of the new tarmac into this space. Fill deep holes in layers. When completed this undercut will stop the tarmac from being pulled out of the whole by car tyres.
Nice job! I would have hit that patch material with a weed torch to make it more pliable. As always, thanks for sharing your projects with us. It inspires me to do more.
Another great video. Very cute collie doggie. Our two German shepherds watched us like they were gaffers when building a big shed for motorbikes and storage. Work bench for jobs too, big old heavy trusty man vice fitted. Free from neighbour, thanks ste next door.😊 looking forward to more of your projects when the weather is better, campervan vids too.😊😊😊
Thanks :) It's great when I can do jobs where he's not trapped indoors worrying about where I've disappeared to lol. They sound the perfect site foremen :D
Looking gorgeous as always. You did a really thorough job. Love to see that. If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing properly. You really braved braved it out in the cold in your big coat. Well done carpenters daughter. You must be proud of your achievements. Look fwd to more great tutorials 😘
Fair Do's for having a crack at a bit of tamacing :-) You prepared well, but you should have bought a small tin of Synthapruf first (Dilute 3-1) to paint the inside of your holes as the tarmac could pull out the next frost you have :-( Also, if you put the bags of tarmac in a shallow, HOT! bath first for 10 minutes or so it will make the tarmac really malleable and far easier to work with. If the bag is damaged, maybe put it in a fresh black bin-liner before immersing. (Great to see Henry getting stuck in ;-)
The Carpenter's Daughter oh definitely but because I smell wood everyday its nice too smell something different. Makes me Sound a little bit kinky that lol
Hope you start feeling better soon, Vikkie. We've had rain down here today (in the 'Red Zone') which has washed away 90% of the snow. Enjoy the shows as well. I've had thoughts about going to Makers Central... If I was more active with my channel, I'd probably do it. ;-)
Thanks Olly :) Thankfully I'm on the mend now and just the odd cough! Yes, the same happened here today too - so glad, as I can nip finally run my errands 😊
Normal tarmac is softened by heating while this product relies on a solvent base which evaporates. Though it's easier to work with when warm, applying direct heat will simply evaporate the solvent and ruin the product. That said, once it's in place I have found it to be as solid and durable as any other tarmac product with the exception that it does fade quite quickly and become less black.
It’s terrible gear that, couldn’t use it today it’s rock solid. I’ve left it cooking in the boiler house. I’ve used other brands in plastic tubs, you can manipulate it by standing on it in the bag and it goes super loose. That needs heated or left in sunlight before using. You can use a pinch bar to loosen it. It must be loosened to be able to compact it. I’d advise the tub stuff over this bagged stuff.
Is it never hot? Sun, 35 degrees centigrade. It is always Cold and snow?.... Your work is good. (Ai nunca faz calor? Sol, 35 c graus. É sempre Frio e neve?,.... Seu trabalho ficou bom.) ;-)
Great video. That stuff looks horrible to work with. Have to say I was a little worried when I saw you smacking it with a club hammer with your phone right next to it. If that would of been me I would of ended up hitting it and the job would of cost a lot more! lol
haha, thankfully it's insured but might be about time I got some wireless headphones! I get so bored if I can't work without listening to music or a podcast 😀
The proof of the pudding is how long it lasts ? I would be interested in a update in say 6 months, if it lasts that long it will be good. How come you only live about 50 miles from me but I still have about a foot of snow that the time of the comment, how about sending us some of that good weather.
lol the bbest way to losen your tarmac is put you foot on it and twist and turn, then when you got it level run over it in your car, poor ol spot dont like being tied up,no not a hover haha thats a first but well done lol
Another great video! After trying to sign up to Selco online however I had to fill in a Proof of Business, and the site confirmed that "Selco is trade only. Hi ya, I have just uploaded a very short video showing the jointing spray for the holes, here is the link if you want to take a look.ruclips.net/video/Sl5o2JQYPTo/видео.html

Great video! How does it look 2 years later?
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot my login password. I love any help you can offer me.
@Duncan Jaxson Instablaster :)
@Waylon Emiliano thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Waylon Emiliano It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my ass!
Get a builders tub and put bag of tarmac in it, then fill with hot water. Leave for 10 or so minutes then tarmac will be softer
This is very useful carpenter’s daughter. Thank you so much. Well done.
Wonderful video, stay inside a new days and take care of yourself. We will still be here for you.
I didn't realise you could just buy bags of tarmac like that for immediate use and the price you got yours for was very reasonable - great vid.
Me either lol :)
I've just found in wickes for £7, bought and following your video, very good by the way
Any time I’ve worked with asphalt I’ve used a propane torch to soften it up, as I find it much more pliable and fast-working when it’s warm.
Thanks for the tip :)
Well done for taking that job on I'd never have thought about doing that.

Thanks I'll look in to that!
Stunning looks and can do DIY, lucky husband!
Thank you 😄

Well-done, good job
Top tip
I've found before using keep in house near radiator makes it so workable!
Great job love vids
Of course (never thought of that)!!! That's a great idea!
Many ways to accomplish a task, but your way always gets the job done and looks great!
Thanks 😀 so glad it's done
Great video. Thanks for sharing

Yes, I think so :D
Great inspiration will be trying soon.

Brilliant Thankyou this will help me fill in a gap on my drive
The club hammer looks more therapeutic lol 😊 . Ya did a much better job than the council would have done!
Thanks 😀 Funnily enough my father in law's been moaning that he's seen some in Lincolnshire especially, where the council have to keep hiring people in for the same holes as they've not been removing loose bits properly. Sounds like a profitable business 🤣
And yes, very therapeutic lol
The Carpenter's Daughter : They're not much better in Cheshire to be honest. 😒

Thank you for the tip! This is the only council bit, I promise 😊
Excellent video - A massive confidence boost! Thank you! And someone who speaks English and NOT American! ;-)
Thanks! Hope it helps 😀
Nice job! I would have hit that patch material with a weed torch to make it more pliable. As always, thanks for sharing your projects with us. It inspires me to do more.
Thanks! My father in law recommended one of those in general for whenever weeds may arise, so will get looking!
Nice job Vikkie.... and best wishes for your up and coming venues... take care :)
Thanks so much :D

The Carpenter's Daughter yer enough about the man of the house locked inside :-) at least the doggie gets to supervise the job. :-)
haha!
My job for tomorrow morning - thanks for the video.
Nice one Vikkie good result given the temperatures. I didn't realise bags of asphalt was available for DIYers so that's really useful to know.
Thanks and me either! Was relieved when I found a video on it 😄 I really wanted to install a path edging, otherwise it would look messy without!
YES!!!! she is protecting her knees. Good Job. Protect those knees or they will get even with you in a few years.
Cool video. Good job.
Yes!!! 😄 I had to go easy on them after I fell lol
Damaged my left knee 20 odd years ago have struggled ever since. Some days am OK other days I struggle to put any weight on it.
Very worthwhile video! Thank you
Thanks 😀 hopefully it can save someone's bacon too 😄
Looking gorgeous as always. You did a really thorough job. Love to see that. If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing properly. You really braved braved it out in the cold in your big coat. Well done carpenters daughter. You must be proud of your achievements. Look fwd to more great tutorials 😘
Thanks :) It's a great sense of achievement when I look back on what we've achieved! Hopefully I can stay brave to keep on trying new things :D
The Carpenter's Daughter your welcome. Hope you do enjoy your vlogs. 😃
Just wondering if this product stains the kerb edgings . I had new graphite grey coloured edges installed and I have to fill in small gaps
and you weren't put off with the weather behind you. Quite the pro!
Thanks 😀 I have a huge list to get through 😄
Wow, at the end, that was a real blizzard going on behind you. Staying indoors sounds like a GREAT idea. :)
lol, I tried to film my talking at the end outside first as well... it just wasn't happening 😆
Lovely job 😀
Thanks :D

Good job - shame you didn't have this all prepared when you had that wacker plate (perfect for the job).
I know! Would've been so handy!
Hope you feel better from cold soon look after your self .
I'm so much better now than I was - thanks ;)
Good DIY tips, a northern accent, and.........a collie dog!! How could this possibly have been better?
😊
Great tips, looked great when you finished it
Thanks! Wish I took a better end pic before the snow came! 😄
unfortunately you cant help the weather, I didnt even notice. Everything flowed ok
It was pure luck I found the footage on my phone, otherwise I would have had to leave it until next week :)
Great job thanks for the tips 👍🏼
Any time! Let me know how yours goes when you try it ;)
The Carpenter's Daughter I will and maybe I'll do a video too and I will be sure to give you a mention!
What goes around comes around 😉😁
Nice fix well done 😊👍👍
Did you store the bags of tarmac inside your house to let them warm/soften before using them?
Good point... no I didn't! That's a great idea though!
Great job vikkie as always you can't beat the smell off fresh tarmac
Thanks Warren. Don't you think wood trumps tarmac? 😜
The Carpenter's Daughter oh definitely but because I smell wood everyday its nice too smell something different. Makes me Sound a little bit kinky that lol
Hahaha... that's exactly why I can't say it in my videos lol
You do a fantastic job
Thanks so much 😀
good job lady 👍 😊
Thank you :)
The difference in price could be permanent repair and temporary repair .If you notice on your bag it does say temporary.
It lasted years while we lived there, so I'm happy with that
Great work impressed!!!
You are brilliant thank you for this tip, I had visions of paying a rip off builder to do similar repairs . Subbed ya. Btw I love your dog
Aww, thank you :)
It was the councils job to repair that...but you did great job
Hope you start feeling better soon, Vikkie. We've had rain down here today (in the 'Red Zone') which has washed away 90% of the snow.

You definitely should go! There's meant to be a few of us meeting up 😊
That same bag is now £18 on Amazon!
Did you have to contact the council beforehand for your end bit that belongs to them..? I've just done mind but didn't bother to ring...😳😂😂
Loving the dog! 😃👍
He would LOVE you 😀
The Carpenter's Daughter Animals love me.. 😂 He probably would! 😍 I enjoy your channel - great job! Greetings from another youtuber in 🇳🇴! 😊
FANTASTIC...
Thanks 😀
Does this stuff actually set? What stops it going goopy again in summer sun? Great video and I'm a big fan of Ultimate Handyman too :)
I hope so!! :D

I'm planning on using quick drying drive seal, eliminates the 50 shades of grey,
Good vid. I watched ultimate handymans vid too. He's from my neck of the woods
wow tarmac & grass , in Edinburgh we're still under about 1 foot of snow ( and it's snowing again ).... edit, yes i commented before the video ended
Yeah, the nice weather didn't last long lol :( It's delaying me finish the last of my patio!! 🙂
ULTIMATE 'ANDY MAN IS AWESOME!!!!
Definitely! I've found him extremely helpful while I'm renovating and love how he talks about things in simpler language!
Nice job
Thanks so much :)

Haha, almost never! In fact, we've had another bout of snow since this video(!) It's unusual weather at the moment for this time of year.
Typical Coventry weather
Did a drive repair with a bag of this stuff. Waited until had a hot day before used it. Has been down a couple of years now and is still OK
Knee pads yayyy
Yes, about time :D
The Carpenter's Daughter definitely lol
Well done, putting the council to shame
lol
Great video. That stuff looks horrible to work with. Have to say I was a little worried when I saw you smacking it with a club hammer with your phone right next to it. If that would of been me I would of ended up hitting it and the job would of cost a lot more! lol

That is the one thing I noticed when I watched it I was expecting a oh ohhhh moment smash
Looks a nice job , you might be headhunted by Lancashire county council.
Thanks :) I'd like to think it would be Yorkshire approaching me first haha
The proof of the pudding is how long it lasts ? I would be interested in a update in say 6 months, if it lasts that long it will be good. How come you only live about 50 miles from me but I still have about a foot of snow that the time of the comment, how about sending us some of that good weather.
Ha! I filmed the first bit a week before, then the snow got really bad. Most of it cleared up towards the end of Sunday though
'If in doubt get Henry out' 😂 😂 😂
Yep 😀 he's had a bit of a beating since moving to this house though... covered in paint lol
Having a dog...would you know how to clean urine out of a deep shag rug?
What is the title of the song playing as you start work, and the group or person playing the guitar??
Love your videos. You are a Renaissance Woman!!
Thanks :) Here's the song, called Wishful Thinking: ruclips.net/video/p0jjTRhUcDA/видео.html
Thanks so much! Pet that gorgeous puppy for me!
All the time 😄 he's spoilt rotten 😉
lol the bbest way to losen your tarmac is put you foot on it and twist and turn, then when you got it level run over it in your car, poor ol spot dont like being tied up,no not a hover haha thats a first but well done lol
Another great video! After trying to sign up to Selco online however I had to fill in a Proof of Business, and the site confirmed that
"Selco is trade only. To prove you are a genuine business upload a photo or scan one of the following: business card, letterhead, compliment slip, invoice/order form, VAT certificate"
So looks like only businesses can sign up :-(
Looks like B&Q and other DIY stores do have tarmac repair stuff however :)
Ah, I may have just uploaded a letter head. Just make one and see what happens. I don't think it's checked thoroughly as I'm not technically in trade. But I do have to claim any RUclips partnership earnings under self-employed so suspect that's how I did it.
Yes, I saw it on B&Q' s website too. Slightly dearer from what I remember, but probably not much in it.
Ace

MOSS KAM
Lol, that's so dated, She looks dam good, especially when doing the work,
Hope her husband knows how lucky he is,
Fit as you
Hi ya, I have just uploaded a very short video showing the jointing spray for the holes, here is the link if you want to take a look.ruclips.net/video/Sl5o2JQYPTo/видео.html
Thanks will check it out!
Do you need to let the council know that your repairing their tarmac ?.... does it not belong to the council, and in you repairing it, they could say that your damaging their propriety..
Husband steps in with the tamper when the hard work is done. Typical
