Carnivore literally saved my life, 14 months ago I was 715 lbs. I was stuck in a recliner for over 2 years and I had congestive heart failure. I was on oxygen 24-7 and I was suicidally depressed and had crippling anxiety. I have tried everything to lose weight and keep it off and nothing worked. I was 600lbs when I was 14 years old. I was helplessly addicted to soda and carbs. I'm down to 478lbs now and off all medications. Off the oxygen and completely have my mobility back. I can drive again. The best part is I have zero food addiction anymore! I am completely free for the first time in my life and I'm completely free from depression and anxiety! It is truly a mericle!

I don't know about most people but I lost respect for Kevin years ago after watching his Netflix comedy. It seemed all he did was down and make fun of people during the whole comedy that wasn't even funny. Then afterwards I hear about him being a real true jerk if you was to meet him, go figure. It makes sense, I mean Adam Sandler got James started and everyone knows what would happen if Sandler was to let loose on you verbally lol. Only thing he ever really did good and funny was king of queens, and that's cause Doug Heffernan was a complete narcissistic idiot, that only did and got what he wanted on the show. His movies now these days I will not watch and even give him a chance cause he's always the same HE'S JUST KEVIN JAMES. Rich or celebrity or not he's just in my opinion one of the worst actors. Heck I'd almost classify him in the same as Corey Feldman, the little dude(what you talkin bout willis). I used to be a huge fan but something turned with him, possibly he's just not that funny and more of a complete smart ass

The relationship with food runs deep and is also constantly changing. For someone who doesn't, at least somewhat, commit to understanding that relationship, it is very difficult to overcome bad eating habits. We have been eating since birth...with reward, comfort, safety, family, work, romance, friendship, luxury, kindness, nostalgia, etc..all attached to food.
To suddenly decide to redefine or make some seismic shift in what that means to us is almost always a recipe for failure.
Even before we get into physically related issues (gut biome, physical addictions, dopamine, etc) or perhaps cultural or even economic issues, it seems those emotional aspects have to be under control.
Wad that all up into an aging ball either being pushed up or rolling down the hill and it's overwhelming for many people.
AND on a much simpler level, pizza and coca cola is just so fu**in' good!

It could be other way as well. Eating carbs gives a dopamine high, then blood glucose spikes, causing an insulin spike, then sugar crash, then feel miserable again until next carb intake. It's a downward spiraling vicious cycle. Carbs can cause depression. If you go pure carnivore, you feel naturally high all the time. And then weight starts to come off. Next thing you know, you are active again getting exercise endorphins.

Geez man my heart goes out to you Kevin because I know exactly how you feel. Tried all the diets and every single one of them works….while you’re on it but the second you’re off the diet the weight comes right back and more. I got in to water fasting on my 40th birthday, lost 99 lbs in 4 months, didn’t go straight through without eating but did a bunch of 4-7 day fasts and as long as you’re replacing electrolytes then it’s pretty safe. But then went through a separation and moved out and became depressed again and my comfort is food so I gained about 80 of those pounds back and it is so crushing psychologically to go through that. I’m back in a better state of mind and I’m making progress again but the fear of weight gain never goes away. I look forward to seeing your doc and best of luck to you.

Balance is key. I did Keto and carnivore, it worked but I got to about 8-9 months and I was getting meat sweats all day. The more extreme my losses, the more extreme my gains when it comes to weights. I am currently on a good path for the last year I have been gluten free. I still eat a balanced diet and I still weight train and do cardio. I don’t over do either one of those and I don’t overeat. Gluten free takes away the easy things you can grab and eat, and you can still have everything as long as it’s gluten free. I’m down 55 pounds from 278 to 233. My goal is 210. The last of the weight is always the hardest to shed. Good luck everyone. Don’t believe anything that is too good to be true or is a shortcut. Change your diet and your lifestyle and you will succeed.

A few months ago I weighed 380, now I weight about 320. I didn't diet that hard, I just improved my diet overall and tried to keep the calories reasonable. I had been walking quite a bit since the beginning of 2020 but that didn't seem to affect weight much but it did improve my health overall. Initially I couldn't walk 100 yards without needing to take a break due to back pain and needing to catch my breath. Every week I walked a little farther every day, now I can go as far as 3 1/2 miles, however I keep it to 2 1/2 miles or less, more than that wipes out my back, knees and feet for the rest of the day. I didn't really start to lose weight though until I started lifting weights. I don't lift that much either, just three times/week, circuit training with 6 exercises @15 reps each and 3 circuits but it's made the difference. I've stalled though so I need to do better with my diet, do some intermittent fasting as well. I really believe the key to keeping gains is to make it a lifestyle, something you will be doing your whole life, not just something you do to reach some short term goal and then return to normal.

A diet is something you go on for a short time in order to pick up the old lifestile.
      Thats why it never works.
sure you lose weight on a diet. But then you put it all back later when its done.
What you need is a lifestyle change, because that will last forever.
Once you get that into your head, it all becomes easy.

A recent health scare got me on a routine. I used to be just like Kevin. It's hard to break out of that mind set. When I got sick due to kidney and gallstone problems it woke me up. All from bad dieting and barely exercising. Then I developed dysphagia and it made me really take my health seriously. I guess with the right motivation, you can get on the right track again. Mine was staying alive. It's a scary thing when you're losing a ton of weight and can't eat properly. Before that I was on the heavy side for most of my life and that came with joint pain, but this is something else. Going on 31 I am now just finding out how to balance everything. Diet, excercise. Work and life balance. Sure it gets mundane, but I'm definitely on the way to being the healthiest I've ever been. Just takes time and discipline.

Food and sugar addiction is legit man. Not as immediately destructive as drugs but definitely will get you there. I started intermittent fasting and lost 40 pounds in a few months. This helped me make more conscious decisions and start to change my life style. My legs are destroyed from the army and three double leg surgeries so, more than a simple walk or short hike with no elevation isn’t really in the cards for me. Just have to change the lifestyle and make focusing on what you eat and when you eat your new lifestyle. It sucks a bit but I want to be there for my kids when I’m older. If I can do it, anyone can. I think some people can't though. The self control goes out the window, it's a frenzy. My brother had to quit all sugar because he couldn't do it in moderation.

Tbh I have a bit of an all or nothing personality so if I start snacking on let's just say going 1k calories over for the day when i've been in check fora week or two it can so easily turn into a couple thousand more if you're used to/can eat a lot and the thing you're cheating with is high in calories.

Yep.... Just implement a High Carb day. Average adult male can store 1100 carbs ez without getting fat. No fat on that day low protein and High carbs! It will speed up your metabolism like crazy!. Next day go back to regular diet example 1 gram per lb of protein and say 200 carbs 30 grams of fat. You will get lean as hell!

The key is to eat until your hunger goes away, but most people eat until they're stuffed. I can eat a medium pizza, but I eat 2-3 pieces.

@@RyneLandersright. I am someone who can’t just have one little snack. 1 nutty bar turns into 2 real quick and then a banana and some Oreos…just beat to abstain from it all together most days.

I'm 19 and I'm struggling with it myself. I'm actually in really good shape relative to most people my age. But I know what healthy humans are and they're not 240 at 5'9 no matter how much I can bench or squat. For me it boils down to addictive personality. My entire family history has drug or alcohol problems. I get going and then when life starts to weigh down and I lose the rewards I seek it in other ways mostly soda or food. I've cried over it before. I'm not sure how to permanently get it but it's important that we never give up. That's what matters, fighting for life

I feel you man, I’ve experienced the same cycles in my life. Yo-yo my weight drastically. The only thing that had a lasting impact on my discipline is being in a relationship with Jesus, it truly changes you from the inside out. God bless brother.

I find, that when I am in Ketosis, I feel the very best. The first 1-2 weeks is difficult because the graving to addictive carbs is strong. But then suddenly all graving is gone and the feeling of being free to the urge to eat something unhealthy is so great! If you have never tried it, you should. Dr. Georgia Ede Book: Change your diet, change your mind, is great for inspiration and of course she is also in RUclips.

I'm glad to hear you speak to the addictive properties of it all, because once you said your weight & height, it was clear to me what was the problem.
You're just going to HAVE to do the "mental light switch" system! YOU are going to have to flip the switch in your mind that makes you perceive it the way you do!
~The Will to be healthier has to be STRONGER and completely outweigh the drive to eat those certain types of foods!!~
You HAVE to hate it; without hating yourself for partaking in it. Have a clear mental focus on what that kind of Lifestyle looks like, and CHOOSE IT!!! Have nothing but the interest to stay with it, even if there's moments of slipping. You just need to make sure the "slip" is just a slip, and NOT a landslide!
You should also look in to the benefits of detoxing with certain herbal teas. Google "natural herbal teas for detoxing and weight loss".
⚠️⚠️⚠️If you take prescription drugs, then I would STRONGLY lean toward caution with including such medicinals in your diet(if you have a doctor, always talk to your physician first! As the herbal meds are not for everyone)...but if you are not taking any Pharmaceuticals AND you do not have any severe pre-existing health conditions (AND remember that with ANY herbal medicinal that you research and have interest in using, make sure to RESEARCH and UNDERSTAND its side effects and the type of people with ailments it might specifically negatively effect...and then go from there)⚠️⚠️⚠️
...but if you do not have those issues, you could have some great success with herbal medicinals. I personally lost a lot of weight using them; along with fasting and proper exercise; and the benefit they mostly gave was making it much easier to keep that weight off.
I think for you 90% of your battle is going to be mental, but with a proper strong internal Will & understanding of how these chemical elements that are regularly put in our food make it that much more of a challenge for anyone; let alone someone with genetical chemical dependencies. I think that's more than half the battle for you. If you can wrap your mind around that and stay focused to these understandings & goals; you'll have the type of success that you want in your health!
      Good luck with things!!
