It doesnt suit him at all. Somehow he looks grandiose in his usual Bohemian garb, but in this he looks like a joker in the pack. His hair and large features don't lend themselves to this sort of sober dignity.
There's something so wonderfully understated about Runcible not noticing that the Doctor has regenerated midway through the conversation. For a story that humanized Time Lord society, that's a nice alien moment.
Well, one has to assume that the guards and other personnel, having to deal with the elite royalty (the actual Time Lords) are able to distinguish the person without caring about the persona/body that person is actually is regenerated on.

The Mark of the Rani was my introduction to him. This was before I watched the Jon Pertwee story, The Claws of Axos, with Roger Delgado as the first Master.
Sarah Jane Smith probably would've laughed at the Doctor if she got to see him wearing the Gallifreyan ceremonial dress in the event she did go with him to see his home planet after he got a telepathic call to return, though he couldn't take a chance on her getting into danger there and had to return her back to England.

This set of episodes were just before the 6 part "Key to Time", the intro of his next companion, Leela of the Sevateem tribe, and the first appearance of Romana (not his wife Lala Ward, who appears a little later as an actual part of the key to time, and she takes the place of the original actress, a few episodes later).

He didn’t actually shoot the president, in part 2 it’s revealed that he was trying to shoot the gun out of the hand of the real assassin in the crowd. The Master had essentially lured him into it to set him up
I just wished that Clara could be the female doctor lol but I guess not, hopefully the next doctor is male, not sexist or anything but its less intimidating than male doctors
Tom Baker should have stayed longer he was and is the best Doctor Who. Chris Chibnall has destroyed the Franchise by changing the Doctor Who character to a Female.
It's incredibly weird and at the same time visually pleasing to see the Doctor wearing Time Lord regalia.
I always thought it was funny how Tom's curly hair poked out from under the skull-cap :)

Philip Alexander Hassialis well it was mentioned in Sound of Drums that Timelords can instinctively recognise one another

This story definitely has some great cliffhangers.
I just love the score for this scene it's perfect.
Timelords can tell who each other are by looking into their eyes
The eyes are the windows to the soul after all…
