Maintaining the shape and scale of the trees is critical for presenting the highest quality Japanese gardens, now and into the future. Greg Afman, Maintenance Supervisor and Project Manager for Kurisu International, explains the time-intensive process of maintaining the Anderson Japanese Gardens landscape of finely pruned pines.

One of Rockford’s few remaining treasures. I could spend days wandering through, noticing new and subtle features missed on previous visits. Fantastic views for photographers and artists abound throughout this tranquil setting. The Japanese artists who created this have my respect for their talent and vision. Every season has something for the eye.
