Great to see more options for Xbox 360 storage are now available for stock retail consoles, especially since HDD's that Microsoft sold are becoming hard to find
Small correction to you listing 360 drive sizes: 20GB, 60GB, 120GB, 250GB, *320GB*, and 500GB. This means that people with a Phison controlled 480GB SSD might get that 320GB option (slightly less of a waste of money than for 250GB haha).
Was going to mention this, but good to see that someone else was paying attention too :) I think the Star Wars edition X360 was the only one that came with a 320GB hard drive.
@@MrMario2011 Yea definitely not a huge deal for most people haha. Another small detail, the "usb storage device" wasn't a later implementation to the kernal/Tony Hawk, game was just listing the storage device name. You could always name devices whatever you liked, so he just happened to use the retail console given title for a USB stick.
Idk why you're surprised about USB storage working in an old game. It's just an extension of the console's existing storage API, adding another device other than the HDD or Memory Units, it works with any game that uses the 360's storage API (so all of them lol).
@@MrMario2011 I mostly meant that the game devs didn't have to do anything, they were required to use the storage API and Microsoft just extended the API with an update to support USB devices, so it made all games USB compatible.

Tony Hawk's American wasteland is £10 or less in CEX for the PS2, Xbox OG, PC and Gamecube and £28 for the Xbox 360 version. They've probably seen an influx of people buying a copy second hand in the UK
At least with the SSDs, any extra unused space will give some expanded lifespan, since the controller has more flash available for wear leveling. Especially since these likely don’t have a DRAM cache.
True, although I don't know enough to know for certain if that would still apply with a reflashed drive? It overwrites the drive type and such, so a 480 GB SSD will appear like a smaller Hitachi drive as an example if that security sector is used.
It probably overwrites the hardware IDs and other presentation sides of the controller, leaving the flash management side alone, at least I would hope so. Only one way to know for certain!
My computer shop has sold hundreds of the Silicon Power A55 SSDs, and only a few have had warranty claims. The couple inland drive I've used have not been great, but a sample of two does not a trend make.
I've only used Silicon Power microSD cards, they work quite well and are pretty fast from my experience. My experience with several Inland SSDs have thankfully all been fantastic.
I'm just praying that this opens some Avenues for further investigation and discovery on Winchester models. Doing console mods, I've got a stack of Winchester's that are mostly for parts.
It's probably related to Tony Hawk exploit that was revealed earlier this year. It would be safe to assume, other Tony Hawk games can be used for this. I actually wanted to get American Wasteland as achievement list seems pretty easy, but I guess it won't be that simple to find. Even if the author says it won't lead to softmod, the game isn't that common to begin with.
As a former Achievement hunter, I can agree that the Achievement list is pretty easy. It's one of the earlier released console titles and the Xbox 360 build is great, so its always been a bit more sought after.
Kinda wild this would mean you'd need a console that was just not used beyond the first few months if released when stock was scarce and scalped heavy.
I always found it odd how Playstation consoles are always the easiest to mod because of softmodding even though Sony showed they tried to stop it (Removing the Web Browser in the PS5, updating their older consoles just to halt jailbreaks, etc) Nintendo is a close second because some you can mod easily but some you need to hardmod But Xbox is like the only console to never get a easy softmod, the og can be softmodded but thats a pain with you still needing to buy parts just to make it worth it

That's solder mask with a copper plane where that "scratch" is on the pcb, not silkscreen. The silkscreen would either be white text or boxes like around those solder pads, imprinted on the pcb at the factory and not from a scratch. You wouldn't see that white line if it was a scratch, you would see the bare copper with its brown-ish color from the plane underneath. What you're seeing is a light reflection from the underfill glue and you can see the light coming from that direction as well from the other solder pads reflecting from that same direction. The white line turns clear when you go down and still no bare copper is revealed from any sort of scratch. Underfill glue is common for preventing chips from dislodging from their solder pads in shipping and it usually leaks out from the sides from under the chip, hence "under"fill.
@MrMario2011 these are two seperate things. Tonu Hawk had built in saving on usb for skate park sharing purpose. I know because i bought it on day one and I used this function on blades firmware.
