Sometimes when a repairman comes to my house to fix something, I ask them about the wind direction they keep secret. He or she often look at me like im crazy, which im sure is what they're trained to do. It doesn't matter. They know I know now and so the chess match continues.
My theory is that the secret wind direction is that kind of static breeze that keeps floating around the same spot, like an aura of chilly air emanating from a fridge...

Season 3 after Harmon was let go is when it went batshit crazy. 5 sorta got a bit more grounded when Harmon returned, but then 6 went into the class per episode structure that upped the bizarre again.
Season 1, Episode 3 or 7, I think? The Halloween episode where Abed was Batman, and Pierce took a pill and built a fortress of armchairs. I'm just too lazy to look up the title and number lol. That was the episode Jeff was on the teachers' party with Slater, and "his kids" kept bothering him with everything. Danny Pudi said that was his favorite episode, because everyone was in their own element, and they were finally weaving a cohesive picture of where they saw Community going, and it was this odd but beautiful sort of patchwork. I think he's right, and Community did start insane.
The "Dennis" moment is a perfect example of what makes Community my favorite show. So many moments in the series made hilarious by exceptional performances from one-off or minor characters
Troy getting annoyed about the Vice Dean making such a big deal out of the prophecy and the AC Repair School basically being a cult is even better when you remeber he's found a magical trampoline, participated in 2 school wide paintball wars and built a campus spanning blanket fort by this time. Being told his education is important is where he draws the line for unbelievable things at Greendale.

He doesn't fight villains or evil organizations, but he does use his powers to repair the infrastructure damage caused by both the villains and the heroes when they do battle. While the Avengers are eating Shawarma, he's helping pull rubble off of citizens, and restoring roads so EMT's can access the downtown again.

I’m also into better call saul as I am to this show. This is the best comedy I’ve ever seen. Rick and morty is great but this is basically harmon but without the nihilism which I love.
The AC and Plumber plot line was probably one of the best and weirdest parts of the show. They made a job that’s so normal and unremarkable into some sort of secret service cult thing and John Goodman made it so hilarious.
I also wonder if the part about the repair school bringing in more money than all of Greendale was a sly comment on how there's so much useless degrees out there but the trades are usually solid and lead to reliable, well-paid (if unpopular) jobs.

But I just want to acknowledge how perfect it is that "Dennis" seems like just another part of the cult-ish weirdness with his apocalypse announcer vibe, until the joke is subverted when it becomes clear that he's gone too far even for these fucking loonies. I laugh every time.
The theme for this story line is the inferiority complex the trade school has. There’s another scene with Vice-Dean and Dean and the convo goes that the AC school is what really keeps Greendale afloat financially. The whole subplot makes too points: tradesmen are undervalued and maybe they take a little too much pride in their skills.
You guys are reading waaay too much into it, I think. The point is that you can make an elitist society out of anything and it will be entertaining if you do it right.
Yeah I noticed pretty much everyone in those years shit all over trade school with high school teachers doing whatever they could to talk any kid out of enrolling in one or attending career center. Now though since everyone went to college there aren’t enough workers to fill those “dirty” jobs so most blue collar workers get paid better with how in demand they are. While college grads have to struggle to get a job most tradesmen and factory workers can work wherever they want to and usually get a sign on bonus. Hell even the unions are desperate for help right now and you can get a pension and actually decent healthcare from them!

The best part of this story line is that the prophecy was true: Troy fixed not only air conditioners, but the men who fix them. And in this case, fix means "liberate from what very obviously is a cult."

Very funny and crazy story arc, but that line and delivery... can't help but take it seriously 😂

I never watched this show... but this clips are crazy.
I honestly expected a twist of Vice Dean Laybourne being secretly still alive, and this was all part of his final test for Troy.
The best part of this story line is that the prophecy was true: Troy fixed not only air conditioners, but the men who fix them.
And in this case, fix means "liberate from what very obviously is a cult."

I just had my air conditioners replaced, I tried asking them about the secret direction but they just laughed and said there is no such thing before leaving
