@@random_name_was_already_taken The joke is that Annie only learned how to do the setup of the joke, but not the punchline, because she didn't attend that class. The way she says "The professor is so old..." sounds like she's going to follow it up with a joke (shown by everyone leaning in with anticipation), but she just stops right there
Annie going hard with that "You're just a bad grade in a tight sweater! And who the hll are you always texting? EVERYONE YOU KNOW IS HERE!" Sheesh lmao
In the "who's the boss" episode, when abed first answers the question to "who's the boss" as Angela, the whole class laughs and someone shouts "nerd". The second time when abed gives the presentation..and professor dismisses the class, you hear the same voice saying "good job". A little but wholesome detail.
That's because he used to be a student at Greendale himself, until one day he invented a fake course to get a free credit. To keep up the lie, he had to create a fake teacher, who needed other fake classes, that needed to be filled with other fake students... and so on, and so on, AND SO ON.
It wasn't an autistic meltdown, but an autistic CAGE-down. It's fun to think that we don't know a neurotypical response to that much Nic Cage intake, but to at least know that the thing that could make the otherwise emotionally-regulated Abed Nadir have a meltdown for the first time in what seems like years, is Nic Cage.
That last bit when Troy says "you gotta start locking the dean's door so guys like us don't get in" and then two guys like them get in, because the door wasn't locked. Stroke of genius 😂😂😂😂
That one went right past me. I did process the two security guys were analogs of the two of them... But that they entered through the unlocked door never occurred to me. Fractal!!!
I think what’s even funnier is that Cage has made a turn towards paring down his range towards films where he is a comedic straight man, such as the Spiderverse and the Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Abed freaking out was for nothing because Cage would answer the question himself within a couple of years.
@@kb6900 so basically shirley was telling britta what she was describing was highlighting but britta thought she was asking her what the highlight of her shopping haul was
I have watched the show 6 times, and that share look between Jeff and the dead countless times. But I've still never known what was Frankie talking about
I love the show, but I think it's criminal what they did to Britta's character. She started off confident, sure of herself and they made her more and more of an airhead as the show went on.
in the dvd commentary, they talk about how the episode ended with Abed walking on campus and you just hear a gunshot ring lol. but they decided that would be too dark, or rather they didn't want Abed to be responsible for somebody offing themself, so they have the professor pick up the book instead haha. 13:50
Imagine randomly turning on the TV right at the exact moment that Abed walks into class with Nicolas Cage binder, and never having seen an episode of Community...
It's telling of Abed & the professor of the "Who's The Boss" class that the former respects the latter as an author. I can't tell if it's because Abed knows he's right and he can fully rest his case, or if he's complying with the order of "class dismissed," even though the authority (pun entirely intended) of the author/professor is compromised by the rest of the class body's hesitation to dismiss, especially since they're still processing that Abed has ruled the additional speculation of the class null and void.
Great clip to start. Followed by the episode with the catchiest song from any TV show ever fkn made. “Gayyy Dean. Gayyy Dean. Gayyy Dean Gayyy Deannnn. I’m begging you to be a gay Dean for the school boarddddddd”
The yam episode is spaced out enough from Todd's first episode that I never realised... Todd needs insulin, so he is diabetic. Yet, he was in the military? This is highly unusual, unless he lied to the military about his condition.
The first few times I watched the Nicholas Cage episode I thought they meant good or bad as in is he morally a good or bsd person not is he a good or bad actor. In retrospect that is a completely insane interpretation but I was happy to go along with it.
There’s an old TV show called Hollywood Squares based off Tic Tac Toe. Celebrities would be in the 9 different boxes, and just like tic tac toe the center square was the most important.
I always loved that side look between Dean and Jeff. Just really showed the arc of their friendship
That was brilliant.
Lmao this is me and my coworker at work so hard lmao…

Also just straight up calling him Craig.
He's curious
Intellectualy..
That was a detail I noticed on my second or third watch through and I was laughing so hard!
The "Setups" joke is so smart and hilarious. Alison's delivery and everyone's reaction... just golden
In a show stuffed full of incredible jokes, this might be my favorite lol
One of my favorite jokes in the show
I don’t really get it

I never noticed, so I turned up the volume and listened closely. Several of the other classmates say good job. Pretty wholesome
I love Abed's look of genuine concern when Todd says "AND I AM FINALLY GONNA TAKE MY INSULIN SHOT"
The Nic Cage scene with Abed is laser etched on my mind for all eternity!
Abed learned his ABCs, Always Be Cagin'.🤣🤣🤣

how the cast kept it together during that is beyond me
2:16 I've Always liked the fact that the professor knew exactly what had happened the moment Abed walked into class
It's definitely not the first time it's happened

"Dear God"
Arizona backwards is Arizona… it’s a palamino
Why's that guy keep staring at me?
That’s right..
I loved that episode. Coincidentally, our English class was studying monologues at the time
"2/7ths of what I actually am"; is amazing writing 😅
Todd's monologue rant is the climax of the season, as far as I'm concerned
Detective Chang makes me wish that there was a full lenght noir episode
Arizona... Hm...
It's a palomino

"Your love is weird!" 🤣
HUUUUHHHH ?
I love how the joke about Pierce's special gym is coming back in the Halloween episode.
Never noticed that before until I watched this video!
Tod was better than any of us would care to admit... Turtle was gonna fry for real real, good save.
Abed as Nicholas Cage is one of the best scenes!
I use “its a palomino” all the time

I’ll never understand why this show didn’t make Danny a huge star.
Tribalism and chaos. That's how.
The entire cast and the writers are geniuses. Experts. But he is the best of the best.
Guys, he's pretty consistently had work after Community and was even Huey in the Ducktales remake, isn't that him getting recognition?

Well, admittedly, overdosing on Nicolas Cage is extremely easy. He's the fentanyl of Hollywood actors.

4:34 BEST. ANNIE. LINE.

The study group falling apart always has the best writing. Every single moment is captivating
“Pierce, wake up, Jeff is gonna heal us!”

It should be remembered that Todd is a vet that served in Iraq... and the study group is what managed to break him.
And that since he was present for the final paintball assassin he didn’t graduate (or.. hasn’t)
Nicholas Cage has only made more films... Abed? Abed?!

Dean Pelton is just better everytime you watch this show
I had to think fast
How much Nicholas Cage did you.... ENOUGH
We don't talk about Pierce. He had the most improvement, was the best character and group don't even showed respect after his death 💀
It’s because they didn’t want it to be misconstrued as respect for Chevy. Of which they had none left.
was this all from Dan Harmon? i dont care for the guy but if these are all his jokes.. its a great show
