OH MY GOD!! I have just realised that the queen to Regina's right is ME! Adrella, Ebon-Knee and myself had worked beforehand, at a Christmas party and were VERY drunk!! A fabulous night ........
This just popped up,What fab memories of Tuesday nights at the"Cap"HRH Regina Fong last of the Romanoff's ,last train to Glasgow, jungle red etc ,what mad days of fab entertainment! Ireplacable! Thanks Reg,god bless
Made me feel soooo nostalgic. Loved going to the Cap in the 80's and early to mid 90's..there was such a special atmosphere in those days and more of a cameraderie that has gone now. The Cap these days is a shadow of it's former self. On these nights you wished they could have lasted forever. So glad that someone had the foresight to film these. Special times.
Now ex-pat', I get to London only 3 or 4 times a year. I had no idea the "Black Cap" was being closed - real, "end-of-an-era" news. The "Cap" was my first experience of drag cabaret - ca. 1979; I saw Regina, Lily (with Skippy) and many more there, including Reg Jameson (Mrs. Shufflewick), who was very funny if not falling-over drunk. Going to venues like the "Cap" was an adventure & provided an escape valve: younger men & women may not realise quite how strong the social & career pressures then were NOT to be (or admit to being) gay - even post-1967 (decriminalisation). Thank goodness, the attitude of most today is, "Some people are queer; get over it!" Btw, like Greg Snow's idea of "Memory Lane" as the name of a drag act....
Fantastic..I was the one Regina told off for talking to her! Still makes me blush... Monday nights at the VAuxhall Tavern, Tuesday nights at The Cap.. I was usually knackered at work the next day,But busssing from the fun for about 3 days afterwards. I hope there will be another tribute at The Cap this year (2011)
Farewell, Great Friend Black Cap R.I.P, gone in an instant, Faucet Inn greedy asset stripping bastards, just spotted myself in this, so very young back then, (32), but tuesdays were always amazing, 35 years of my life mostly spent in there,
This was the simplest, silliest, cheapest, best fun in London then - nothing could beat it for laughs.

Couldn't agree with you more! I was there regularly from 1986 onwards, great memories and times indeed! 😍💞
And now gone completely....Great shame...what a sin
God bless Adrella building her part. I don't think I've ever had more fun than these nights, and I've had a lot of fun!

ADRELLA THE BEST EVER
Ahh, memory lane. The days when being gay also meant being a bit different.
Actually, Memory Lane wouldn't be a bad drag name...
oops Typo, not bussing, meant buzzing!
I love this song! Is it known as a gay anthem in England?
Not really, it's a 60's song by Helen Shapiro
Addrella wasted , nicky vixen looks good
What he said? Well, I'll tell you.
He said, "Her dress is bloody awful."
