    I have the same outboard. Does yours tick when idling. Mine has a fast tick/knock. Someone said it’s injectors or high-pressure fuel pump. It’s much louder with the cover off.

      Does it do it when out of the lake/ocean? And does it do it when your hose is attached and you put it in gear?

      @@CMATS I don’t run it on the hose. I notice it when I run it in a bucket or idling in the ocean. More so in neutral. It’s not that noticeable with the cover on but with the cover off you definitely hear it quite a bit. A tick tick tick sound.

      @@motojoe1797 Probably not what I think it is and I am no expert. I have noticed a noise from the lower end that sounds like it is coming from the upper end...thru vibration. But when pressure is put on the prop, etc, in gear then the noise would disappear. Having said that, I did find that if I did not have my prop torqued to spec, then interesting noises appear. Sorry I am unable to help with TICK Tick noise...all the best.

    Thinking about this motor for replacing my old 2 stroke- Can you recommend have you been satisfied? Curious about being able to pick load up for fishing 20miles out in bay also really interested in fuel economy- Thanks for video

      Thanks for asking. Based on just the engine alone, not knowing your boat setup, this DF60A by Suzuki is superb in many ways including fuel economy. Regular maintenance and mine is still purrrring beautifully. I have gone 54 km through a canal out to the open ocean at 22 knots and the 4 stroke performed great.

      On my 17ft Montauk BW boat is 18 gallon gas tank, 2 batteries, 45lbs in lead weights and 2x 200lbs men...engine handles easily. Gas mileage is incredible as stated earlier. Cheers

    Looking to replace a Yamaha 90 2 stroke on an 86 17’ Whaler. What’s top speed. Will it idle below 800 rpm, I do lots of mooching, lower speed is important.

    • @CMATS
      @CMATS  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for the comment. Idle for the 60hp is between 700 to 900rpm i think. Depending on current of water and weight on boat etc...i troll between 900 and 1100rpm. Sips the gas (amazing!). Top speed is between 26 to 31 knots for me. I usually travel at 4800rpm which is approx 22knots....5800rpm is my WOT.
      Hope this answers your questions. Love this outboard.
