@JohnpaulCahill that is interesting. I don't think you want it going past 6200 rpm anyways... but maybe prop size??? Surging sounds like it is protecting itself but I am not a professional by any means....

@@CMATS it’s not that I want it to go past 6200 rpms but when I go to open the throttle fully the engine doesn’t allow this to happen. I still get 50km on it but I am wondering why this is happening at end of throttle.

@@CMATS also I took the prop off and ran it without the prop and still have same issue it’s a strange one.

@Suzukioutboard only other thing that comes to mind is maybe a bad install and the rpm is not reading correctly or calibration is off. If i ever hear of anything i will text you back here but that's all i got... wish you a good fix. Cheers

I am not a professional. But here is the prop that works for my boat: 11 3/8 D × 14 P I have a Montauk Boston Whaler 17ft. My WOT is 5800rpm approx 28 knots. In the manual, rpms should not be over 6200...alarms should go off. The Gilligan

@randykaminski6214 Yes, i made everything. Back seat is 3/4" ply with mahogany front trim. And lots of Epoxy : ) and time. The back rest arms are oak. I love my layout, every inch on this boat is high value real-estate. Cheers

That was 2 layers of 3/4 ply....secured in 3 spots.

I don't remember hearing "high thrust," so i would say the regular version....

@CMATS yea, i think suzuki calls it high velocity. I had a mercury (big foot) version on it before. Boston whaler went with the higher thrust lower units, so i stuck with the same from suzuki. Just trying to dial in the prop. I'm using the same prop from the merc.

@risokiko3285 I use a 11 3/8 X 14 propeller on my 60hp Suzuki and attached to a 17ft Montauk.

I have the same propeler on my 60hp suzuki attached to 155 fletcher, but the propeller is very small, it exceeds the recommended speed, I'm going to try a 17" propeller @@CMATS

@Aberystwythaberdoveyboatuser unable to find torque settings buuut it was not alot of torque...sorry I can't help. If and when I do it again, I will comeback and comment what I did for torque.

Good news I got the settings I think! But I am not a professional, this is just what I did. For my future knowledge sake: Lower Unit Bolts : 16.6ft lbs or 2.295 kgs or 200 inch lbs Impeller Housing : 6ft lbs or 0.83kgs or 72 inch lbs
