- Disassembly and REPAIR of an EXCALIBUR 2400 Dehydrator. After 5 years of heavy use the Thermal cutoff fuse burned out broken. I suspect a sticky syrup residue buildup caused the temperature control thermostat contacts to stick closed. I cleaned this with some isopropyl alcohol. Also, the thermal fuse is about an inch away from the heating element so its possible to be a design fault. Total cost of electronics fix was $1.60 for replacement install. Not heating fan spinning. Food storage vegetable garden dried tomatoes.

Just discovered your channel and have been bing watching since yesterday. Love the garden!
Smart!! A lot of people would have just tossed it and bought a new dehydrator. But you invested time in learning how to fix it and saved $$$! Very rare quality!
thanks, its fun to diagnose and figure out how stuff breaks then fix it. plus a bonus it saved money in the long run not having to buy a new one. so now i have an extra $100 i didnt have to spend :)
And those fuses aren't more than a couple dollars a piece even better deal buying a pack of them.
Great video! Knowing how to fix things rather than tossing them out saves so much money. Thanks for the step by step.
Mr. fixit you are....great job. Looks like Squeak is happy to dance in the rain 😽
This video is what I call a win-win. You showed me how to do something new and you fix your Excalibur 2400 Dehydrator. Great video!
Bro you are the best. My coils disconnected and I just reconnected and bada Bing bada boom. You are the best man. Saved me from not only having a royal melt down but just buying a new one.
Thanks for MacGyvering it. I'll remember about the fuse thing when I burn out my dehydrator. I'll get the hubs to fix it
Great tutorial 🙂 Most people would just trashed it when it stopped working and they are not cheap. Glad to see that you took the time to fix it. You saved your dehydrator and kept it out of a landfill. Give Squeak a cuddle and aome of that cat nip lol to cute.
Great video. I was able to fix my Excalibur easily. Thank you!
Thank you for this! I love my Excalibur and so happy it was a cheap / easy fix! Great video.

I'd say that's a win for sure! :) I kinda Wana just hang out with you all day not going to lie lol 🤣 love your videos And your cat and you 💚😋 I've learned alot of thing's from watching you in not a creapy way hahah
Great video, Thanks! For my unit, it was totally dead. I saw what to test from this video. Just poking around with a meter through that protective cage, to see how far power was getting the thing came to life! Yes, still plugged in. I must have reset an over heating do-hickey? Thanks again for the education.
Wow. Thanks for sharing this
great information. Have been looking at different dehydrators and wondered about maintenance on them.
cool you made that look easy glad you were able to fix your Dehydrator
Nice, great video.
Many thanks for step by step presentation.
Was looking at your video what a great job. Only problem is was trying to find the Thermo fuse, so confusing to ensure I purchase the correct one. Can you provide more details or the seller on Amazon where you bought yours to ensure I get the right one
Great video thank you!

That cat!!!!! 😂😂😂 We just had 5 all black kittens, would love to overnight ship them to you !! You know you want them!!
i love black cats :)
Could you do some dehydrating videos?
very cool
Will you do a video showing how you use the dehydratedr
Thanks for the video. We know that the fuse is out. It is too corrupted to see what the info is. We went to excalibur site. $10 for fuse, but wait... 10 bucks for shipping!. Where can I find one. We have a 5 tray over20 years old.
i bought a ten pack on ebay. the specs were 250Volt, 10Amp, 84C (degrees Celsius)
@@BubbleBeet was that for the 9tray as well? I'm looking for the fuse and Excalibur won't ship to me..trying to find specs to buy elsewhere I have 2900
@@loraperry8119 You will have to pull the old fuse and look on the side of it for the specs.
Awesome! Thanks for this video. 👊
Very helpful. I think I can do it. Thank you.
Yea am supposed to be able to fix my Excalibur now lol.
You have so much sun ☀️ over there, why not dry them naturally
More ! Please more! Thanks
Hi,what is the white thread found in the heating element?I have the 9 tray dehydrator but it won't work, any help will be appreciated cheers.
hi, i dont see a white thread, the heating element is the spring type metal. the entire fan/heat assembly is pretty simple, removing and looking around the fault should be fairly obvious. if the fan doesnt spin at all and heat doesnt work it might be a power cord issue. good luck
@@BubbleBeet Thanks for your swift reply. The product did heat up first with a glow but then suddenly stopped and nothing works all apart from the timer.
I got a dehydrator for Christmas, what all do YOU dehydrate?
I use to dehydrate mushrooms a lot until my heating on it doesn't work.
Hi there!
I have a 9 tray Excalibur with a timer. I'd like to bypass the timer, and have a simple on/off button. Can it be done? If yes, how? Thanks!!
wow , your e awesome!!!
Do you happen to know anywhere, North or South America based, that sells replacement heating coils for the Excalibur 4-tray? The Excalibur website does not have the part listed for replacement and the next best thing seems to be a place in the UK that will ship coils @ roughly $18/coil and around $70 shipping, USD-EUR ...any input is appreciated
Hi!!!! I’m from Uruguay I have mmmmmmm a similar Excalibur and the resistence it’s broken... I need to know how i can repair 😔
I sub you for some time now, not saying anything just taking it all in. You do have a good green thumb I've enjoyed you videos to the fullest. I have not have harvest that much total 1 ocra pod and 1 small better boy tomato. This year I'm gonna fellow your steps and do what you do. Because I'm tired of pounding my fist on the table and looking at my garden and then yours..... SMH Oh BTW you have the most happiest cat I ever seen.....LOL keep up the good work!!!!!
Sos un geniooo !! 😊🤗😋
😂👍👍👍
Are you sure the sticky stuff wasn't electric grease ?
Hello... do you have a link to the fuses you purchased?
Hi mine stopped turning on. What should i check?
I am 😱
I dont know how to fix anything 😞 God bless your skills... Have a great day 🌻
Can anyone help?. I have cleaned the points as in the vid but my Excaliber 4400 still runs around 10 degrees lower and maxes out at 57 instead of 68 degrees. Anyone??
mine just stopped, looks like the control, it's sealed, thanks
Take the thermostat unit apart - you may have to drill out some rivets, and replace them with small machine screws. . Examine the thermostat, especially the electrical contacts. . It may only need to have the contacts cleaned.
Hello
The heater works and turns off again in 2~3 seconds.
Could this also be the effect of Thermal fuze?
hi, probably not. if the thermal fuse popped the heater wouldnt work at all. Id try cleaning and maybe adjust the on/off switch contacts with a file/sandpaper and some alcohol.
I wish I could find a video for the same problem on my vivo home dehydrator. 🙁
The fuses are all the same just find it on your dehydrator.
ruclips.net/video/fDInQFj1258/видео.html
can you supply the specs on the new thermal fuses?
250 V, 10 amp, 84degrees C, 183 degrees F
Brand new dehydrator barely used, well literally just a few weeks after the one year warranty ended, guess what, it doesn't heat up. I am testing the Thermal Fuse which seemed most likely however it appears I am getting continuity. However low continuity means that it might still read? Either way barely used this "DJOR" dehydrator, the size was perfect and gifted to me but honestly cheap ass Chinese garbage as always.
Actually sorry I had used the dehydrator 6 months ago without it heating up but did not realize it at the time because I did not understand how they work. It was defective well under the warranty time frame.
Please do not buy any DJOR dehydrator garbage ever.
I can't even simply remove the thermal fuse. It's crimped in by some strange way and honestly I think they built it not to last. The heating coil is literalyl good and the thermal fuse appeasrs good?
