We saw your show in another town and embarrassingly followed a group of people we thought were getting autographs. It was your family. You were so kind and took a picture with us anyway. Your show was great and you handle loud drunk people well!
Dude.. you are naturally one of the greats. It’s rare someone can make me laugh like this and you do it multiple times within a few minutes, your sense of humor is genius.
You never lost the audience. You did fantastic. It sure is better than dealing with “hecklers” in the 9 to 5 world, Dusty! Just keep havin a good time, man👍🏽👊🏽
That’s too bad, hecklers/irritating audience members are a nightmare. When I attended your show I had a little social anxiety to express laughter. You did a good job hanging in there, thanks for the video. You’re a true professional comic 👍
I was at that show and it was frustrating. You explained everything very well, we paid for tickets to see you, not him, and he was ruining it. I think you handled things well and did a good job working it in where you could but drunk at 6pm is hard to deal with. I just wished the club stepped in earlier, especially since they had a giant sign before the show started that read "no heckling". But I doubt he read anything because he also ignored the no vaping sign as well. Either way we loved seeing you and will be by again if you're in the area.
Haha! Yet another great joke... great movie as well. You're awesome Dusty. Keep up the good work sir. I'd love to see you live someday soon. How often are you in Nashville?
You worked him into the show beautifully while staying true to yourself and not being a jerk.. But definitely getting the last laugh. Well played sir. Seemed like a great crowd otherwise.
I appreciate you telling us your thought process as it happened. Often times we see comedians breeze through these things and it almost feels like part of the show. But I know I for damn sure don't want someone heckling me while I'm working 😂
Why would anybody go to a show and heckle a man that’s trying to make a living. Very very disrespectful. Norm sure knew how to handle the hecklers. Great job Dusty !!!
Incredible job reacting to that dude! That's really impressive improve even when you're not irritated. And all class with how you responded. Thanks for doing the good work to make us all happy!
Comedians have this right to be frustrated at this behavior every single time. Even if it punches up, as audience members we’re not meant to talk to the performer during the show, including comedy shows. It interrupts the flow of the performer. It’s the same as if a singer was being constantly interrupted during a song. You know unless it’s crowd work we have to remember they are putting on a performance. And so we pay to watch that performance and anything we have to say about it is meant for a different setting. This video is great content because Dusty is giving audience members an inside look at how he handled a heckler (because he WAS “man” enough to deal with it, even though it has nothing to do with having to “man” up, as someone suggested), even though it interrupted the flow of his routine, he showed us how resilient he is as a performer. Comedians get the short end of the stick when it comes to audience members. Interrupting a show is ignorant at the jump. Doesn’t even matter what is said, it’s just plain ignorant. I’m noticing more and more comedians come up with bits and routines with lessons on how to be an audience member. It makes for funny content but it’s pretty pitiful on our part. I dunno really though. I see how response from the audience polishes the comedian. It just seems like comedians get treated with less respect as a performer than others. Maybe because comedians are using prose and it makes us as audience members feel more comfortable? Comfortable enough to talk back. So I guess on the other hand, if the comedians didn’t have hecklers at all, they wouldn’t have those opportunities to see how resilient they are without preparation. But at the same time, we don’t need hecklers to prove if a comic is talented or not. That’s what their performance is for. I wonder which is better: heckler or no heckler? Heckler can show how talented the performer is, but the performer putting on a show also shows how talented the performer is. I’m sorry for all of this, I guess when all is said and done, out of all kinds of performers, comedians get the least respect from audience members and have to deal with it and it was 💯 totally cool of Dusty to give us an inside look and I hope he does more inside looks.
Thanks for sharing this video. I haven't watched a lot of comedians deal with hecklers, but usually I see the comedian just ridicule the heckler with a biting insult and that's the end of it. I thought you handled this guy brilliantly. You didn't bluntly ridicule him but you leveraged his comments into splendid ad-hoc jokes. You have a sharp wit with natural comedic timing. So you handled this situation as well as any of the top comics in the world in my opinion. Your humble demeanor allows you to treat the audience, even the hecklers, with concern and respect all while making us laugh with you. AND you manage to be funny without being crude or using profanity. You are a top notch act my friend. I pray you continue to advance in this industry.
Sorry to hear about your troubles, Dusty, I hope things keep going smooth otherwise! You're one of my favorite comedians man! We're having a good time!
I was that dude once at a show. The short end of the story is the comic on stage had to yell at me "shut the yyyy up" before it got through to me that my "pitching in" wasn't helpful. So I got up, turned around to the audience, mimicked that i'm zipping my mouth, then went and got another beer and kept my mouth shut for the rest of the show. Anyway, the thing you said "you gotta be aggressive aggressive" at these people is very perceptive! We're having a good time, ok?
Well you’re funny as hell Dusty. Been my new favorite comic since I saw a half set of yours on here. Hope I get a chance to see you live in the future.
Dude seriously, I could not tell you were that irritated. You handled yourself like a champ. I really enjoy your standup and I will definitely look into seeing you live. Keep up the great, professional work. You're a rockstar.
You’re the best, man. You handled that hilariously while being very gracious to him even though you had every right to do a flying kick of the stage into his teeth. This gave me a deeper appreciation for you and your comedy. Always remember that when you’re “sad” some of us are living vicariously through you, so keep having a good time. Come do some shows in central Arkansas and we can have a good time together (…not like that ) ✋🏻
Oh no! This must have been so frustrating! Some people just don’t get it. You are clearly a professional and handled yourself brilliantly while allowing the other people to continue to enjoy themselves!
You have an amazing gift, your observational skills and quick wit remind me of Seinfeld, but with your own personal southern charm. Even your awkward mannerisms sprinkled in are very funny.
Dusty, you are so clever, quick and witty you can always make it a good time whether on stage or on podcast. If I need cheering up, I can just look you up on RUclips. Looking forward to your next special!
Respect. You’re great. I’ve shared multiple videos. You’ve got a great way about you, both on stage and when you recap without your stage persona. Either way, we’re having a good time and keep ‘em coming
My granddaughter has frequent outbursts that are lacking of a good time. When I review our day of the good things of the day I always say we’re havin’ a good time.
"Well done! Your patience and composure to that jerk was awesome! Every great comedian gets a heckler from time to time and dealing with it without losing yourself or your audience is keen! KUDOS!!! Love your stuff.......DUSTY, DUSTY, DUSTY!!!"

Why does such an interesting, lovely man decorate his home with LITERALLY the same paintings my geriatric grandmother got at a garage sale? idk, but i like it
That’s what made me laugh the most. Dusty you’re always the best at getting the unexpected laughs with me. It’s like your improvised comments are even better than the stuff you work hard on. I guess what I’m really trying to say is, you should probably just stop trying. Lol jk, love you bro. I’m in your corner, keep at it the jokes are great. You really are great at improvising though
We saw your show in another town and embarrassingly followed a group of people we thought were getting autographs. It was your family. You were so kind and took a picture with us anyway. Your show was great and you handle loud drunk people well!

@@DustySlay This comment is amazing...

@@DustySlay I hear he left your show, and met someone at Sizzler.
You worked him into the show beautifully while staying true to yourself and not being a jerk.. But definitely getting the last laugh. Well played sir. Seemed like a great crowd otherwise.
I was about to say he didn't defend himself enough, but you're 100% correct^^^

Dude you may have been annoyed but played it so cool and still got laughs 😃 that was hilarious dude !!
Dusty, ya did good! Keep it up, we need your humor, Especially at this time in this country
Why would anybody go to a show and heckle a man that’s trying to make a living. Very very disrespectful. Norm sure knew how to handle the hecklers. Great job Dusty !!!
Man you handled it so well! The crowd loved you, there’s always people out there that are so insecure they have to act all weird.

Fellow Alabama boy. Love your your shows. Sent to several people
Love you man! Even when someone pisses you off during your set you still kill! My favorite comic :)
God bless you Dusty. You are doing incredible work under the most difficult circumstances any performer will ever experience.

At least you figured it out and weren't intentionally being obnoxious.
Only found Dusty this week from the Netflix show and he's awesome! Subscribed and keeping an eye out for more he deserves a much bigger stage
i love your comedy style man. glad i found your videos. alot of comedians try so hard to be funny, fun to see some guys can just be effortlessly funny
never saw a heckler situation broken down like this so honestly and still comically before. Love your work. Thanks.

I've never understood hecklers.
They are losers. That simple.
Like, why come in the first place? Stay home ya unhappy person
You know what I've never understood? Trigonometry. Makes no sense whatsoever.
Lot of people can’t handle their alcohol, or handle their mouth while drinking alcohol at least.
I think they truly think they are funny and adding to the show.
That was super funny and I’m glad you called that guy out!
Respect. You’re great. I’ve shared multiple videos.

Love your comedy Dusty. I'm in California. Please come do a show west of the Mississippi!
good to hear Tom waits in the crowd
We're living in a society right? Feels like this as a teacher sometimes but there is no bouncer.
Hey Dusty. I kept scrolling past your video. I'm very happy I finally watched 'Poor in a Trailer Park '. You are super.

So, what I heard was, come to my show, sit up front and heckle quietly...lol
I like hecklers who set comedians up. There's nothing funnier than watching a heckler get roasted.😂
The funniest was when you said “I’m sad.” Lol.
With the accompanying digital zoom on his sad face 🙁

I love that NAPA hat!
Damn, Dusty still made me laugh in a shitty situation. What a pro!
Love the insight!! As a frequent audience member, the clips were very hard to watch. It's amazing to me how some people have zero awareness.
Perfect handling of the situation.
I had a good time.
And I’m a paying member that loves to see you “go up and do the jokes”. Keep it up brother!
