Yes, some minor changes to the 'platforms' and 'towers' but the same type of level. Addition: I found out that the boneyard level in Gradius Rebirth is a combination of the MSX Gradius level, PC engine level, and a similar themed level in Nemesis for the original Gameboy.
On, the contrary, I think you should upload every since longplay video you have simultaneously~ Especially shooters, 'cause I fuckin' LOVE shooters. :D
I have no idea why Gradius and Gradius II weren't ported to Genesis/Mega Drive, the shmup machine. I mean, the first game was ported to nearly any device with a display and CPU, even the 8-bit micros (with varying results), but not Sega's best console that was made for shooters and other fast-paced arcade action? WTF Konami.
@@PrekiFromPoland I don't know either. But there's a load of slowdown in this game on PC Engine, even with its similarly paced 7.68 MHz cpu, so I wonder if the slowdown would be as bad on Genesis too. It basically looks just as bad as the slowdown in Gradius III on SNES to my eyes, which is surprising given the SNES' CPU is only 3.58 MHz.
It looks like there's a lot of slowdown there in many sections of the game, like at 7:27 for example. Am I just imagining this, or is the game really suffering the level of slowdown I'm seeing here? It basically looks just as bad as Gradius III on SNES in some moments like that, which is surprising. I actually didn't think this would be such an issue on PC Engine, especially with its super fast 7.68 MHz CPU and all. :-o
Is it that the video game is choppy, or just the video playback? I don't know if anyone else notices it. I want to buy the game, but not if it's going to be choppy like this.
12 years later, still the best version of Gradius by far. The SNES version (a minigame inside of Legend of the Mystical Ninja/Ganbare Goemon) would have been incredible, but there's only 1 level. Graphically and musically, it would be a tie in all honesty. I WISH I had a Turbografix-16 growing up, it really gives the SNES a run for its money and absolutely slaughters the NES, and not just in regards to Gradius.
hey guys im looking for a spaceship game made by konami and some of its levels are in 2D and some on 3D and the first boss is spider ship or something like that if anyone know a game thats match those setting please let me know :)
Here i am 2024 looking at this game for my analogue pocket. I had it back in the day for the pc engine. 👍
This version is amazing. Nearly arcade perfect port, but with an additional stage not found in any other version. Awesome!
It was on the MSX version first
this version looks better than the arcade
@@Seiko180they're exactly the same, save for the new level
I think the new stage is in Gradius Rebirth but under a new coat of paint.

I just gotta say the use of scaling on the credits is impressive.
I really wish hell put gradius 3 on pc engine cd so have the orignal trilogy on there.
It would worked.
8:34 so epic music. I love it

Tsunao is a legend with Gradius !
If anyone wants to play this game its available on the Japanese PS3 Store for 6 to 7 dollars.
I downloaded this on my WiiU, and I am so glad that I did.
Gradius on PC Engine is perfect port from the arcade but it has included arcade music on Turbografx-16 Mini
nice run. thank you. What a legend !
I think it's funny that the Konami Code still works in this version.
You can get this on the Wii U eShop.
music is awesome
this is way better than the NES version, music doesn't destroy my brain.
but it also has a lot more slowdown (especially if you get a lot of powerups)
SNES Ver.: purple laser
Genesis/Mega Drive: Green laser
TurboGrafx-16-CD/PC Engine: Blue Laser
Arcade; White Laser

What Konami arcade game(s) had the the white laser Konami intro
@teckwerks My good sir, you recognize the merit of great games. We need more shooters ported to Steam, WW, XBLA, PSN, and 3DSeS. Especially...Cave. D:
OH BOY! Gradius! I can't wait to blast some Big Cores!
There’s 6 of them in this version!
Gradius, Now On Turbografx 16, From Konami!
IMPRESIONANTEE.!!!! sin palabras.! este tipo es un genio.... :O
On, the contrary, I think you should upload every since longplay video you have simultaneously~ Especially shooters, 'cause I fuckin' LOVE shooters. :D
The parallax isn't perfect and the slowdowns are a bit annoying, but otherwise a good port.
6:31 - 7:26 The Moai, the merrier. ;-)
6:31 7:26
Gradius never came out for the Sega Mege Drive/Genesis
xboyindahouse it's a shame....
Can this game be played on a stock TG-16 or does it require the CD add on / turbo duo?
Yes it plays on the regular PC Engine/TG-16 with no enhancements.
Nice to have you back! :)
Hes got that on trainer. A few times in the later levels the bullets hit the ship and did nothing.
I wonder how this game would be on Sega Genesis

Locks like it was ment for the SNES.

I like to get a speed up and then get laser to avoid button mashing :)

Be grateful for that slowdown this game will wreck you

@Michael Higgins Ok, cool. I thought it was like the Ninja Gaiden PC Engine version. That game looks cool, but the background scrolling looks bad.
where do i get the game ?
Odd, why is the PC Engine version of this game different than the Mega Drive version?
There has never been a Mega Drive version of any Gradius game, ever. Gradius did not hit a Sega system till the Saturn.
Hi, I used the footage from this video in one of my videos. I gave credit in the video, but if it still isn't okay with you, I'll take it down.
