Simple, it ain't an NES game because we never got it in the West (sadly). Nintendo thought it'd cost too much to import the VRC4 mapper chip designed by Konami (which is why Gradius II looks as beautiful as it does), so we missed out on a dope ass game outside of Japan
@@rickdavis32 Life Force is not Gradius II let’s be honest Salamander/Life Force is pretty much Gradius 1.5 and it was the in between game and it was made before the actual sequel Gradius II becoming a thing. Ngl the Gradius Branding is very inconsistent back then
Lost in Japan - Never came to Europe or America, Yet a musical and Beat'em up masterpiece.
The sounds in this game are so satisfying
I was addicted to this game back in 2006 haha! I’ve had my Super Nintendo since 1994, and it still works.
I like that they hold the sound effects for a few seconds just to let us hear the music on all channels
Even the final boss has an explosion sound that has a sense of finale to the game.
I'm getting super contra feels about this
It's like our Contra heroes were piloting some experimental aircraft to save the world again from a new alien aggressor
Aren’t they both made by Konami?
Good job dude !
Amazing gameplay 👏🏽👍🏼
One of the 8 bit era’s greatest technical achievements in terms of visuals and sound. They took a good arcade game and improved upon it.
I love listening to all the Gradius and Life force soundtracks awesome music!
Really impressive game for the Famicom
i've been robbed of my childhood. i never saw this game!
Nunca logre terminarlo, pero que bonito saber como termina
For those outside of Japan, you can buy the arcade version separately for roughly $8 USD
This is very good. Is there a supporting chip in the cartridge to help out e.g. for graphics or sound?
Yes the VRC4 chip. Custom to Konami and part of the reason it never made it to the US.
Was there powerup speech on NES? Never noticed that
Shmup maravilhoso, jogo direito no celular pelo emu. ❤️😍

spread bomb and option were the better choice at the beginning. This is not satifying at all.
