Pirates Combos 21 - Beating the "Unbeatable" UPS Strategy

A strategy to try to counter the UPS (Universal Pirate Shipping) strategy, also in a 40 point limit. Tries to sink the Hai Peng on the first turn.

Lots of interesting factors at play. I think I'd invest the remaining ~16 points of the counter fleet into gold running, since you'd likely still have to counter a decent gold score from the UPS fleet before their final ships potentially suicide to trigger the end of the game. Some kind of HI Raider might come in handy.

You may dock with some ships at the enemy home island to take one treasure that already has been collected.

I think there is certainly a strategy to be had where you steal the treasure they have already collected, I think some Longships even let you take 2 treasures at a time.
