I showed this scene from 'In Living Color' to my nephew. I never saw him laugh so much and with such intensity. He remembers the show way back when he was 10 years old. Now, He is 33 and able to really appreciate the humor. I love Jim Carrey.
Haha "Well, by-the-way Jim, I must remind you that as a Vulcan I must mate once every seven years in order to survive. I've only got two days left and -well sir-you're starting to look good to me." "Careful Spock, that's how I broke my hip in the first place."
Kirk: "Captain's log, Stardate: 6051. I had trouble sleeping last night; my hiatal nerve is acting up again. The ship is cold and drafty. I complain, but nobody listens." Announcer: "Star Trek XII: So Very Tired. See the original cast in their latest, greatest adventure."
This has always been one of my favorite comedy sketches. And, looking at some comments on racism and making fun of the dead. Regarding issue #1, the entire show was written by a predominantly black staff/cast so I doubt there's any racism involved. I think they're just referencing the aging of the cast and the scene from Star Trek V where Uhura does a naked fan dance. For issue #2, turning Leonard "Bones" McCoy into a skeleton..his nickname was BONES! Joke explained, no insult detected.
Spock having arthritis is especially hilarious considering that Leonard Nimoy later did a Super Bowl ad for Aleve, where he couldn't do the Vulcan hand salute due to the pain in his hand.
I had never seen this skit 👍 LMAO When Kirk first came out with the walker I lost it.😀 Mad TV has a Spanish Star Trek skit with Sasso as Kirk that is also hilarious.
Really ahead of its time and everyone on the show was talented.no subject or person was off limits to being in a comedy skit.no way this could be done today.
SNL in it's infancy was every bit as good as ILC and has had it's ups and downs. SNL helped to break new ground in how far comedy could go on national television. I agree it isn't as good now as ILC was at the height of it's glory. Thank whomever for youtube and syndication or we couldn't see any of this superb comedy.
Another good In Living Color skit! Nice post! "He's flatlining again!", that one had me laughing pretty good! And Uhura dancing "Oh... you want some OPP?" LOL!
“… and Captain, I have replaced the Klingon food packs. They were giving me a sour stomach.” “Is that what it was, Mr Scott…” And all those years later his stomach was still sour…
wow... you mean there was actual comedy in the old days? Yes Kenny.... there were fun times and good comedy. Now go and protest something else and forget what you have seen.... remember... I'm WATCHING YOU! OO
Hell, the Trade Federation War Fleet probably has more firepower than they do. And more menacing foes. I'd like to see the Trek crew fight off Droidekas by the dozens.
Wha weird is there clearly was hair underneath his wig, which defeats the purpose of wearing it. They should have placed some sort of cap on his scalp to create the illusion of baldness, so the wig would make more sense.
The great thing about 'Star Trek' is that it is so iconic, we fans enjoy all the parodies.
Not all of us, and not all of them. I was never a fan of "In Living Color": I never found their attempts at humor to be even remotely amusing.
Agreed!!!
@@timsmith2525it’s a hell of a lot funnier than SNL ever was.
@@foxtrotthree569Earlier SNL was good with the original cast. Later years it sucked.
Amazing thing is that now, 30 years later, William Shatner is 90 years old and still in great shape.
And actually went to space!!
This gave him the motivation.

Carrey's Kirk is priceless - nailed it!
Yeah, nailed the coffin from the inside. It was shit.
@@kyokogodai-ir6hy really, can you do better? I thought not, since you aren't on tv.
"Captain's log, star date. Uuuh...brrrrr...hell I can't remember."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Careful Spock, that's how I broke my hip in the first place!"
Tehehe!! Kirk/Spock still together even after all those years. Sweet.
"Our 5 year mission has turned into 25" got me laughing so hard.....
Haha "Well, by-the-way Jim, I must remind you that as a Vulcan I must mate once every seven years in order to survive. I've only got two days left and -well sir-you're starting to look good to me."
"Careful Spock, that's how I broke my hip in the first place."
So, even back then, In Living Color knew that there were Spock and Kirk shippers. Unless that was just a coincidence...
3:42 *I LOST IT!* A literal "Bones!"
And did anyone notice that Spock's ears were drooping down?
When?
I would love to see the Star Trek cast’s reaction to this.
"Dammit Jim, I'm a corpse, not a doctor!"
I'm the 50th like!
Omg! The flap killed it. 0:44 Jim as alway a genius. All of them. True treasures. Thanks for the laughs guys.
One of the funniest Star Trek parodies I've ever seen...lol.
Kirk: "Captain's log, Stardate: 6051. I had trouble sleeping last night; my hiatal nerve is acting up again. The ship is cold and drafty. I complain, but nobody listens."
Announcer: "Star Trek XII: So Very Tired. See the original cast in their latest, greatest adventure."
"Our 5 year mission just turned into 25. We just left the Romulan galaxy and we're aproaching....senility." LOL
"Careful Spock. Thats how I broke my hip in the first place."
Ha, "Sulu" has the lip smacking of an old man down perfect!

One of the best comedy whose ever on TV. Too bad it ended
hahah I love how he says, Spok, my Vulcan friend where are you lol
LOL:)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never saw In Living Color, but as a Star Trek Fan this is hilarious:)!!!
still don't believe it's been that long ago-
I used to love 'In Living Color' years ago. That skit just reinforced my opinion about that great show.
I had never seen this skit 👍 LMAO
When Kirk first came out with the walker I lost it.😀
Mad TV has a Spanish Star Trek skit with Sasso as Kirk that is also hilarious.
Spanish the language or the country?
Bones cracked me up, big time!
i was so high when i watched this air originally back in the 80s or 90s ....laughed at bones so hard i peed myself
The only thing I hate about this is that Chekov was not in it!
Who?
Pretty damn ironic when is actor for the reboot series died recently. 🙁
Checov was probably in his Middle Ages instead of his prime because he’s way younger than the rest of them.
There's.... someone on the wing....Some....thing.....
Dragalge Spock are you out of your fvulkin mind!
surfitlive Jim Carrey did it on Ace Ventura II also.
"I'm sorry, you were saying?"
Baby Momma A novel and in the first movie in the empty tank.
I can't believe I missed that when it first aired! Perhaps the BEST parody of Trek ever.
If this were an actual Star Trek series, I would so watch it.
That's why they implemented term limits in Starfleet.
LOL 3:26 "Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!"
I'm a corpse not a doctor.
That was Carrey's voice too.
this, IS, COMEDY,!!!!!!
Our favorite!! We watch this all the time for the biggest best belly laughs!!
Really ahead of its time and everyone on the show was talented.no subject or person was off limits to being in a comedy skit.no way this could be done today.
Main i wish i was a teenager in the 90's instead of a kid, i missed so much of this funny shit. Jim Carry the greatest comedian of all time!!!
Best Star Trek Spoof is the best ever done. "Sulu, are you blind!"
"... well sir, you're starting to look good to me."
:D
“Now, lets stay friends, Spock.”

hell ANYTHING is funnier than SNL, still dont understand how that show lasted for over 30 years
Isn't this from "In Living Color"?
Swinde cheif is stating ANY SHOW is funnier than SNL
This is waaaayyyy too funny! Just the break I needed in my work day. I laughed off my chair! Thanks. I loved 'Bones'
The toupee thing is a stroke of genius. XD
"And turn that blinker off...."
Another good In Living Color skit! Nice post!
"He's flatlining again!", that one had me laughing pretty good! And Uhura dancing "Oh... you want some OPP?" LOL!
Wow, INC predicted the future of Star Trek quite well.
in living color: the original person that said I am legally blind 😂
I knew it'd be a skeleton when Bones were called for... but it still got to me like crazy! I nearly heaved for air! XD
Oh my God! I can't! I'm laughing so hard! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kim Wayans was one of the secret weapons of In Living Color.
"Live long and props...damned arthritis" .....I want Zachary Pinto as an old man lol
Too bad this show came to an end. It was so funny.
THIS IS PERFECT LMAOO they even added in spirk yess 😭💀
Hmm, the geriatric Star Trek crew
Go enjoy that yummy Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes! You guys have earned it!
Jim Carrey's Response at 2:29 LMFAO!!! I use to do that to people in Jr. High ahaha
Maybe it's meals on wheels.
So that's where they got the design for the USS Discovery.
freaking hilarious!!
These were the days. God I miss them.
The whole pon farr part is WONDERFUL!
Better than snl today. And a host of others. Bring madtv and this back with real actors
How did I ever miss this?
I've never seen Jim Carrey do a bad impression
Amazing!! You could break a hip just laughing at these guys 🤣🤣🤣
These paradies always end with Kirk alone in the command chair.
Still better than those STDs...
@ILoveTeaDogs The sad thing is that's how bad Deforrest Kelly's health was by the time of Star Trek 6.
Captain’s log: I’ve lost my toupee and girdle and can’t leave the room.
Simply brilliant all the way around!
this is funny as hell I laughed so hard I cried especially when the dr. came in.
THERES NOW WAY THEY DIDN'T BUST OUT LAUGHING WHILE SHOOTING THIS SCENARIO
That was insane. Never saw that before. 🤣🤣
we have some of these episodes at our library, but most don't have really funny skits like this
“… and Captain, I have replaced the Klingon food packs. They were giving me a sour stomach.”
“Is that what it was, Mr Scott…”
And all those years later his stomach was still sour…
HAVE YOU SEEN THE ONE WERE THE DO MINISTER LOUIS FARRAKHAN ON THE STARSHIP--- FUNNY AS CAN BE
I still can't believe the fricking *SNL* mentioned Spirk. THE FRICKING SNL!!
Depends on the Force users. Some force-sensitives and even Jedi are Sid enough that even the mind-trick works on them.
besides...live long and prosper, oh damn arthritits...lol i love this part
Absolutely freaking hilarious! LOVED this!
The Kirk stuff is his best work tbh
Very funny.
Loved it!
I thought John Belushi did a great of portraying james T. Kirk on SNL,but Jim Carrey also is hilarious!
Stick around Scotty, I might have to drop a captain's log...
mr sulue extaplish warp speed and turn that blinker off we've been turing left since rigoues 5 lol one of the greatest moments
Ahhh, jim carrey in his early days
In living color finially answering the question kirk/spock fans have had for years
my dad showed me this once. I couldn't stop laughing.
Light years is not a measure of time...it is a measure if distance.
I played Pokemon Red/Blue too.
In some ways it's a measure of both.
Captain’s log: A bunch of the ship fell off and nobody likes me.
I feel bad for you... I saw it in theaters more than a month after the opening, but at least I saw it in theaters.
wow... you mean there was actual comedy in the old days? Yes Kenny.... there were fun times and good comedy. Now go and protest something else and forget what you have seen.... remember... I'm WATCHING YOU! OO

The bit with the hair had me rollin'. LOL

We just left the Romulan Galaxy..... they sure did well
Did you see Nimoy in a 2006 commercial for Aleve? He couldn't do the Vulcan salute before taking Aleve.
Yes Jim is hort for James and on Star Trek his name was Jim.
Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!
It's 2019 and Shatner is still alive and kickin'.
And Jim Carrey...?
He released a novel last week.
He's had a rough life but is very much still with us and producing art
