Credit to Dan Dawson, unbelievably great interview.
I know glen on a personal level and what u see is what u get one of the most down to earth blokes u will ever meet absolute salt of the earth guy all us teesiders are
The guy was a very good player to be fair .
Newcastle folk are bang on
What went wrong?
Was it Covid ?
The pressure of PDC spotlight?
The Travel ?
What a great interview, very open and honest but you expect nothing else from Glen Durrant, a brilliant player and just as importantly a brilliant man!! 👏👏
How can anyone not love and appreciate Duzza? He’s a winner and a great man. Cheers from Toronto Glen
Superb from both. If there’s not already been one, can someone interview Dan and ask him about where his love of darts came from and how he’s ended up where he has. As he is top rank at what he does and his love of the game shines through.
I love this idea
How can you not like Glen Durrant? What a class act!
My favourite dart player. Even took his coaching course. Lovely guy. Feel awful about his decline. 2015 to 2020 he was definitely top 5 in the world
Seems like a top bloke.
Some of the comments are ridiculous - very quick decline but he’s achieved more than 99.9% of people who have ever picked up a dart.
This is a really good interview and good to hear Glens own words.
I rember how much stick Glen would get when he went to the PDC about how he wouldn't do very well. Time after time Glen continued to prove the haters wrong.
I would have loved your PDC career to have been longer but it was so enjoyable to see you absolutely smash it in such a short space of time.
Absolute legend.
One of my favourite players as a person. Such a down to earth person and a class darts player. Much love
Dan is a superb interviewer / commentator and Glen is a superb person and was a fantastic player. Should have ended with clips of premier league win with Bon Jovi singing 'Blaze of Glory'
Great interview, It just goes to show you that you never know when your abilities will leave or diminish.Glen has more to give to darts and humanity.
glen is a legend here in boro, always will be, and one of the nicest blokes you could meet
Glen is a top bloke, great interview with some great questions.
I was a good pub league player, I managed to get to the local top league. Just before this I was playing in div 2 and winning every game I played, this was on the double board so there was no trebles at all. I finished the season with the 2nd most maximums out of all leagues put together.
Then came the individual knockout which had the best pub/club players every player I played was in a higher division, some played superleague and 1 played county, I manged to get to the semi finals then played the best player in the City for the past 15 years, I was on stage and he beat me 3-0 , that night there I thought Ive made it to the top of where i could play.
The next season I played in the top division and couldnt hit a barn door, I lost my throw and confidence, after 2 seasons I stopped playing as my game wasnt good anymore.
Im still proud where how far I got in that competition with the players I beat and i was getting respect from the other players, would I change it to still be playing now, honestly i dont think i would. That 10 months of darts I felt invincible and wasnt scared to play anyone.
Absolutely incredible interview of a man I respect greatly. Dan Dawson is just brilliant at getting a thorough interview with who ever he's talking to. 👏👏🎯
Fantastic interview, very honest and open. Great question from Dan at the end 👏 👍
What a brilliant interview! I love duzza he comes across such a lovely bloke. Its such a shame he isn't on the tour anymore he is a credit to darts .
Glen Durrant is a great speaker and Dan Dawson is a great interviewer. First class podcast.
I think Glen is brilliant his commentaries have been fantastic and what a player he was ,he seems like a great guy .
Good interview...nice to hear the highs and lows of darts..especially with a professional struggling with dartitus and the pressure of playing.
Absolute legend Duzza, another brilliant interview Dan. Up the Boro.
I hear great things about Glen from those who have dealt with him. I will say I think he is a prime example of why coaching isn't for everyone. I think darts coaching can be great for some but once certain people start tinkering it can destroy them. I think Glen analysed too many things too soon. Some need to just not think and just throw. Coaching in darts, for pros, just makes me feel a little anxious.
a lovely man and I always watched and supported him. well done Glen and enjoy your hard earned spoils
We just need more Edgar vs Durrant, funniest darting 'rivalry'.
Take care Glen, we love you. Stay healthy.
Pdc putting him as coms on eurotour is a 🎉🎉😊
Wow,what a man!! I am just super impressed👍
One of my favourite players to MC for in exhibition
Glen is a legend
He was in the top 4 early 2020, all was well until the lockdown.
Did he spend lockdown over analysing his throw ?
He got covid after winning the premier league had a few weeks off and was never the same again.
Never seen it happen so fast to a player
His throw / technique always looked a bit hard work but he'd managed with it for years.
Must have been physiological?
So sad .
Shame he didnt ask for help , pick up the phone to a Taylor / Mardle , im sure they'd have helped ?
One thing about him was that he seemed so mentally strong at his peak .
Strange / sad story. Wish him well.
When you look at his PDC record in majors, it was outstanding, and stil better than most players to have played in the PDC. And people never thought he would make it in the PDC, he certainly did. For the time he was in the PDC, his record is unmatched other than Taylor
Love his commentary too.👌
Such a shame he didn't have a longer stint in the PDC he was a great asset and i was in shock how his game came crashing down so dramatically after doing so well so quickly in the PDC and winning the premier league. At least he can take the positives from it all. Great guy great player.
It still feels weird to me. Shame.
Great watch. Top bloke
Great talker is duzza and a gentleman , shame they don’t have him on the comms more,
legend. great on comms too
0:28 i got goosebumps
Up the boro!!
Living legend salute you glen
Can you please do an interview with one of the Dutch guys?
Fantastic this!
what a star
If its the same year,, Hes on about i got his glass norther ireland trophy from his first big event,, he give me it years ago and signed darts and a board Probs getting on to 10 years ago still got it
Most kind and genorus guy met him at a exhibition in scarbourgh 2018 got framed signed photo with him and bdo trophy
Would be. Probably cost you loads of money 🏆
Plse interview bunting and then ashton
Quarter final or better in 6 majors in 3 years including a win. Shame about his decline but he was shit hot for most of his PDC career ans a top bloke
Mickey Mansell next! I want to know how good he feels.
need to get him when hes sober first
Crazy how he was went off the rails
Why do you think it happened?
13 or 15 which one was it?
It was 13 he has said it in other interviews
@@jrobbo17013 what?
It's clear from this interview what ended his career, unnecessary me_di_cal procedures.
That'll never get a mention thats for sure.
I wouldn't rule it out !
The guy is a headcase. How can you go from a world class professional to amateur in a couple of months. Always knew he was nuts. Hope he gets the help he needs 🏆
Seems very down to earth to me and has accepted his situation and is proudly looking back now to what he achieved. Rightfully so. Your comment is nuts
Cyberhug
hasbeen and never good enough for pdc.
Wow more evil than I am. Definitely good enough. He won a major! He clearly needs help!
Clearly you know nothing about the game
Him becoming the first player since Taylor/MVG to top the premier league table then win it was a fluke then ?
You sad evil human being, That man has just opened his heart for all to hear,he deserves respect
What a nice bloke you are got many friends have you
