Wanted to thank you for this video. My Emerson stopped working and I bought a new TV and was gonna toss this one until I saw this video and saw you pointing out the fuse.so I decided to open it up and I noticed the fuse was blown, for a 20 cent part i saved my TV. Thanks again.
Wanted to thank you for this comment. I was having the same problem, but didn't see any damaged components. Probably would've overlooked the fuse since that wasn't the problem in the video, but after reading your comment I checked and that was the issue. Thanks!

I just want to be sure before I buy one, is this an 8A 250V time delay fuse? And where did you find one that cheap?
samerickson89 might try autozone, RadioShack probably was around when he posted that comment. eBay will be you cheapest bet
Bummer, the RadioShack near me just closed a month or so ago. I tried Advance Auto but I'll take a look at AutoZone. I'll keep eBay as a last resort. Thanks for the reply!
Mine doesnt have that resistor touching problem...What else can i look at?..Checked the fuse..its fine. Diodes seem ok as well.
Good day ,I have a Emerson HDTV LC320EM9 B , when you press the power button it come on and cut off ,if you keep pressing the power buton it wil come on and stay on .If you turn it it off then you have to start all over again until it stay on .

+Edna Carradine Capacitors are an easy fix. plenty of videos on how to replace them. Just look at the top of it where the Y is and if its bulging its bad but you might wanna just replace them all because on rare occasions they don't bulge out.

Hey, I have an Emerson tv. It takes about 15 minutes of pressing the power button to turn on the tv, and sometimes that doesn't even work.

What do I do when the Emerson just beeps while plugged up? No red light at all to show power. This is the Model LF501EM4 A. This TV is hardle used. It is 3 years old. Brough from Walmart at Christmas time of 2014. What do I do now? Thanks for your help.
Michael Johnson replace the main board
Looked through the comments to see if somebody would call you out and say there is no way a manufacturer is going to let a resister that has the legs sticking out like those in this video. Q.C. can spot that ridiculous component install a mile away. Was it take your child to work day when that board left the manufacturing facility? Someone has obviously put another resister in that spot and they did a terrible job. I wonder who it could have been? (ahem...O.P.?)
I'm checking a TV now. When checking the diodes sometimes the beep is constant and sometimes it's short ( for 1 or 2 seconds then dies out). Also, I'm getting the the beep when I check the resistors and where the fuse is. The TV is not plugged in. What does this mean?
I have this exact model television. It is currently not displaying a clear picture. The coloration is very distorted and there appears to be not be refreshing the image in the screen will linger. I am wondering if the t-con board is replaceable on this model?
my stepdad has 2 emersons exact same model exact same problem.... Emerson quality is pretty shit. i'll have to get a better look at it.

my Emerson's volume keeps turning down by itself. What does that mean? when I try to cut it back up it turns back down again.

Mine just keeps blinking. one it would turn on then it would blink green then turn red then repeat. I don't know anymore.

Hello, I have an EMERSON 40in, model (LF401EM5) No light whatsoever turns on. If you can give me some advice on what to do I would really appreciate it so much I've had it for about 2 years now. I took it to be apart like you did on the video but everything looks fine no burn spots anywhere. I tried pressing the Menu and the - volume and the power button seeing if I can reset it but nothing, no lights at all turn on I tried plugging it into different outlets and nothing.

I also have an Emerson with the same issue. Mine is a 50 inch but same brand and issue. I just ordered the power board off ebay. Figured it was worth a shot since power board was $50 and replacement TV will be over $300. I will let you guys know if it works. Part will be in later this week

Cheap electronics saved from the landfill
mine has the same problem - it does not turn on. replaced the fuse that did not have continuity but it did not fix it. what else can i check?
Make sure that resistor isn't touching the jumper wire on main board
After Hours Tv & Pc repair the resistor is not touching the jumper like it is on this video. any other suggestion?

Also can you test a Diode while it is on a circuit?
Course you can, I check them for shorts all the time.
