What you said about the cooldown was interesting but it raises another question,
How close to the mirror do you need to be? And do you have to be facing it? What if you're facing a mirror but through a window?
Also, at what point does something count as a mirror? What if the mirror is very foggy and doesn't fully function as a mirror, or what if you say it into some shiny cutlery/ glass windows/ reflective puddles which essentially function the same way as a mirror? At that point the evil spirit could get you at any time.

Yes, but then again.. being afraid of something for no reason is also kind of stupid... I'm not saying that being able to say Candyman into a mirror 5 times is something vitally important, but then again there are quite a few superstitions, that can hinder people more severely. To me it almost sounds similar to a form of OCD.. and, if you are genuinely hearing noises, maybe seeing a professional would be a good idea.
I do my own share of stupid things for fun as well (Like sometimes walking only on the white parts of a pedestrian crossing, or some shit).. Human brain likes to entertain itself when you're bored..
But, if you see danger at every corner, every black cat is the literal incarnation of the devil and you are genuinely irrationally afraid about some mundane stuff, then maybe its not a good thing and is something you should work on..
I guess religion and belief plays a big role here, but idk...
To each his own I guess.. Some people are afraid of black cats, some of mirrors, and some of people who are different from them.. all irrational fears, but some more problematic for the society than others..

I cannot understand why people do not want to admit that they are afraid about a person or situation, as Dom says, fear is a survival mechanism and without this we will never know if this route to go to my house is safe or if this person it's dangerous.

It's the same reason that I, a grown-ass man, will always say hello to crows and ravens (and magpies tbh), as well as apologise if I don't have food for them. When I was a kid I was told stories about The Morrigan and her raven spies, and how they would report back to her if they were mistreated and I didn't want to wind up being chained to a rock with my eyes being pecked out.

One of the main reasons I want to get my mortgage paid off ASAP and get a new home is because I want to exchange my apartment for a place with a backyard so I can start getting ravens and magpies around again

@@ookami5329 I have experienced this first hand it seems as though all the crows in my neighborhood have a set an attachment to my household and every time something happens and my family as if let's say one of our other household birds died and they were all flock of us in front of our house and have a meeting, I was driving to school when I saw in the neighbors house they were many crows on the floor just standing there listening to another crow give some sort of speech, a group of crows is called a murder , I think they might have been planning one

@Caiden Well, anything is real if you believe it enough. I used to be tormented as hell, see shadows, creatures in my room at night, like a sleep paralysis but i could move around. One day i kinda went "screw all this shit, i just worked 16 hours, and i have to do it again in 7." And i never had trouble with it again. Its been some pacific 3 years my dude, i recommend it.

People like to think that their reflection is a person. I don't think it's weird for disconnected jerks to independantly realize that they can twist that comforting thought into nightmare fuel by suggesting that "if they can be good, could they not be murderous as well?".

Like you say at 1234 and then as long as you say something else before you say it a 5th your safe. I don’t know where that rule first came from but I’ve seen it a lot with ghost stuff. Since you grew up in Canada like me, you're probably aware of those damn Wendigos that seem to pop up in media and such. I honestly think such a creature could exist and that is why I don't wish to find myself lost in the woods in this tundra we live in.

I've spent conversations with friends debating what about a stake kills a vampire. Is it the wood? Does it react to their biology in some way? Or is it the stake itself?

If you amputate it, does every piece of it revive separately or do they just reform? What if you take a piece and put it somewhere far away? Does it come back? How close do they have to be to each piece of themself to reform, if not? If each section of the body has its own consciousness once revived separately, what happens when they’re put back together?
How are vampires immune to all other forms of murder? What makes “a wooden stake to the heart” so holy? Surely a crucifix would be better suited? Why specifically the heart? Surely the brain would be a better option? If you kill a vampire by blowing their brains out with a gun, and they revive, does their brain still function the same? Can you give a vampire permanent brain damage???

I'd assume the "cooldown" is going to be a session, so like, if you leave the bathroom, session over, take a nap, session over, interrupt the session(hop on phone, say something during chant) you'd have to repeat, also in my school if you used anything to summon a demon or something you had to break that object in half cause the demon now possess that object(it was mostly pencils from charlie charlie for me)

I was scared of the ritual stuff too & I left whenever my older friends would try something. Like no thanks, I'm not gonna mess with angry demons.
Your uncle reminds me of my grandma since she also has this thing with seeing ghosts. Her house is along the trail of tears, so sometimes she sees people travelling through her kitchen. She said it's not scary & they look like normal people just walking by. I think she saw the ghost of a dog once too. I'm honestly amazed with how well she takes it. I've never seen anything, but I still feel safe spending the week there, so I don't think they're bad spirits.
