Why does John seem to be the only guitar player on that stage who manages to have a guitar tone that someone would actually want to listen to? The others are professionals right?
@@tw8454 I thought so too, but the more I listen the more I realize it was too dirty. Clean it up and it will sound even better with the same note choice
Mayer is in a whole different universe than the rest of that band. Orianthi's tone is so processed and shallow, playing is almost mechanical. She even came in late.
I see how that can be a real issue. lol. But she was intentional. Her opening riff matched the transition to the iv. Other than that I agree she is not really a blues player and that tone is completely inappropriate. The blues really is a different skillset. JM today is really the man carrying that torch - with BB King gone and Eric Clapton gone soft.
See, I'm not so sure that's his signature. The sunburst sig has that tortoise shell pickguard on it, and it looks black to me. Like someone else said, though, it could just be one from his crazy big collection of guitars.
Before you all go crazy about John Mayer, just notice Orianthi was left out and John Mayer got too much room to play and didn't let Orianthi come forward. And mix of sound isn't perfect. John Mayer plays very predicable. Orianthi is as excellent blues guitarist as him. Watch this - ruclips.net/video/mafe0IsBbkE/видео.html
This is the most polite smackdown i have seen by mayer
As opposed to the more aggressive smackdown that occured when he played with ZZ Top and Slash 😂
I like that John seems to be playing just the guitar right into the amp. He turns up the volume right before his solo.
Well not really. He didn't turn up his volume. He lowered the band's volume
@@unodeldim3610 lmao he like basically told everyone to shut the fuck
You don't need fireworks (distortions) when you clearly come from another planet!!! God bless John
1:54 4:11 No need to thank me
Damn John letting his inner Stevie come out here
Mayer's playing is out of this world in this. But then again everything from the hat to the blazer to the licks came from SRV.
Love this song Dave's a great story teller.
John Mayer ad 4:20 = Let me show you how daddy does it
Achillez such a sweet lick
john killed it
The audio quality on this video is so much better than most of the other videos of this concert - you can actually hear what is being played.
Thanks so much for editing and mixing!
John "Visvim" Mayer
God I wish I could afford it
It was a GREAT show, thanks Dave
John Mayer melts my face
John Mayer still the best blues guitar player!
Brilliantly done WoME! Always creating!
Excellent. Please come to Portland to do a show.
Why does John seem to be the only guitar player on that stage who manages to have a guitar tone that someone would actually want to listen to? The others are professionals right?
Because he is John Fucking Mayer that’s why.
Yep.
Yo right
Hahahahaha so trueee
stop that red PRS was great
@@tw8454 I thought so too, but the more I listen the more I realize it was too dirty. Clean it up and it will sound even better with the same note choice
Cool guitar solos!
John just sounds so natural ,the dude was clearly born for this
Mayer is in a whole different universe than the rest of that band. Orianthi's tone is so processed and shallow, playing is almost mechanical. She even came in late.
she came in really late. i was beginning to wonder if she was even going to start playing
Nicholas Whitfield Hahahaha ikr

It is deffo his signature range. Headstock is not SRV Sig. Looks like the in repair guitar from Heart of life live at Nokia.
존메짱😍
PRS pisses me off
+James Walker especially the amount of gain she uses, just to cover up her playing...
Jona de Graaf she’s actually a really good player. And she doesn’t usually play with that shitty ass tone I don’t know why she would
Mayer doesn't fit in. He belongs with legends.
4:44 sheesh john chill pls
how was this recorded? nice audio and video quality.
Hi. Somebody would have he retranscribed the second solo of Mayer ?
❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
He's playing his signature strat through a vibroking, just like he used to for the Room for Squares/Any Given Thursday days.
TheHomingByrd I think he is playing his first strat
He showed it on a video and it looks exactly like this one
Nice
This song is about Stevie Nicks.
Can anyone name the rest of the band? Keyboarder, Bass, Drums, etc.
Dana glover on the keys.
Which is the model of hat that wear to mayer please ?
Oriaima%t uses too much effects. anyone notices the sick bass player tho?
Nik West? I think. Google her
. AMAZING
I think Orianthi fell asleep, was day dreaming or couldnt see Dave through her hair and sun glasses to take lead. Not very professional
She's not wearing sunglasses.....
What's the picture at the back? Is it Sunderland?!
Hi. Which is the hat which carries john ? please
Nik West on Bass?
Don't think so, no signature on the headstock.
what did they do give Orianthi's a gorrila amp cause they were scared they would get out played
I love 3:32
Poor Orianthi. Can you say intimidated?
Can you blame her?
anyone with good eye plz tell me what amp John's using. Twin reverb???
As standard he uses a Two-Rock John Mayer signature amp.... Not sure about this particular show
Vibroking, maybe
probably a deluxe reverb, he uses it a lot for these kind of gigs
Varit Sukhum it doesnt look like a deluxe reverb, im gonna hhave to agree with oskar.
What is the name of the pianist?
Dana Glover
this has lots of soul, but Orianthi's tone is pretty abysmal on this cut
