Everything look great but I still have some concern about the battle mechanic that relying too much on the level between you and enemies, if they fix that or have some difficulties options like XC2 then it'll be perfect.

Almost a decade ago, fans started "Operation Rainfall" to bring 3 JRPGs to North American Wii owners, one of which was Xenoblade Chronicles. It took over a year of convincing, but Nintendo finally released Xenoblade Chronicles in NA. Since then, we've gotten two more mainline Xenoblade games, a 3ds port of Chronicles 1, and a full blown expansion. And now we are getting a remake of 1. I think we owe a lot to those fans who started Operation Rainfall, and to be honest, so does Nintendo.
Geez thanks for making them bring over the gay version with the UK voice acting. If it really was for the NA we would have had an american shulk instead.

I have said this many times and I will say this again: purchasing Monolithsoft was the best decision Nintendo has made.
No the decision to start selling video games instead of toys was the best.
Lord Ozzie amen friend, it really is the best decision made and another great decision Nintendo made unlike Bandai and square is that Nintendo gave them more freedom for Monolithsoft to do their own thing without much interference.
Nintendo should purchase more studios, Microsoft and Sony are picking up studios left and right and Monlithsoft were last bought all the way in 2007

One thing I always really was sad about playing the original was I kept thinking “man...this game REALLY deserves to be played in higher rez than 480p.”

wiltedstar you don't think it's that good? XC2 was my favorite game of the last decade, with only The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 standing between it and XC, although this remake may earn it an even higher spot on my all-time best list!
I actually love Xenoblade 2's art style unlike some but I gotta say, Shulk and Fiora look waaaaay better here than in 2's DLC.
The weakest element of XC2 was not the art style but the animations. They just aren't as expressive as they could be which is somewhat of an issue for a series as dramatic as this one. It wasn't that much better than the original but there the low resolution of the Wii and the dark atmosphere kind of hid it. With the resolution of the Switch and the bright colors it's on full display.

The UK Collectors edition is so much better. You get the art book plus: a sound selection on vinyl, a digital music download code, a poster, and a steelbook. The US version is pretty pitiful by comparison.

In Xenoblade 2: Torna the Golden Country, you would see a gravestone on your map for every UM you defeated. It'd be great if they add something similiar to this game.

Shoutout to all the people who supported project rainfall like me back in the day. So people could enjoy this game and see it become a mainstream franchise.
I don't remember how I heard about the whole thing but from the bottom of my heart thank you, Xenoblade is top two of all time for me and Last Story was really fun. I never imagined at the time I originally played Xenoblade that it would 3 rereleases, a spin off, and a sequal. Even though none of them come close to the original in story in my mind, they are all super fun.

@@MfROb The 3 games are Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower. I am so glad i did support it cause Xenoblade is quite easily one of my favorite games ever and if it was not for that petition i and many others would not have experienced it.
Honestly seeing all of these project rainfall supporters not only get Xenoblade over to the west, but getting a whole new series out of it, Shulk getting into Smash, and now getting a remake of the first Xenoblade must be like the most incredible thing ever for you guys. I can't even imagine 😅. Regardless, I cannot wait for this remake!

It was actually perfectly clear from the beginnig of the first teaser that this is not a simple port. I don't know, I think people lack brain nowadays.

A lot of people myself included theorized this was the case back in XC2. So it's nice that we got a confirmation it. And nice to see what color his trinity processor looks like. So we got green for Pyra/Mythra, purple for Malos, and red for Alvis.

I couldn't even find any comments on the direct talking about this masterpiece. Instead they were being salty that there's no botw2, but honestly, while I love the zelda series, and this may come out as an unpopular opinion, I was more hyped for xenoblade de than I was for botw2. I just really want a skyward sword hd. But yeah, this game was perfect to begin with and is still perfect after 10 years.

As an avid fan of XC2 that hasn't played 1, Shulk's scream at 1:56 almost had me shedding tears of joy.

Nintendo should do a Nintendo direct specifically for this game in May before its release, like they did to Xenoblade 2. I know it is not a new game, but it is basically the only switch big title after animal crossing. In the direct they should talk more about the quality of live features they added, to show that it is a worth purchase even for those who already played all the previous versions (wii, new 3ds, wii u eshop). They could all show more in game footage or even something akin to Xenoblade X exploration trailer. And also show a tiny bit more of future connected, maybe not cutscenes but the first minutes of gameplay. Come on Nintendo, promote the game.

I'm glad they kept the original battle system in the remake as it's more fast-paced and flexible than XC2 in my opinion.
And better... and you can actually believe that they can do the things they can do in the cutscenes with the battlesystem in Xenoblade 1 compared to 2. Not being able to jump/move while auto-attacking is stupid.
Naw imo Xenoblade 2 has the superior combat, and in 2 fundamentally it makes sense as too why you stationary with your auto attacks. Theirs so much going on in 2's combat, that moving around just wouldn't work in 2's combat. And once you get the hang of it, it's very fast paced and flexible.

@@beezusHrist My apologies then, tho personally I consider it really fun and fast paced once you get the hang of it. And as much as I LOVE 2's combat, Torna's is even better. Have you played Torna? Torna's combat is improved and even MORE fast paced! It's incredible! Best dlc I've personally ever played.
@@slobertooth1358 I do see how the combat system in XC2 has some interesting and satisfying aspects such as gaining orbs to perform a powerful full burst chain attacks and staying close between Drivers and Blades to charge up the Special Meter. However, as spamming specials and full burst attacks are the only strategies I used throughout the game, the game slowly become a no-brainer for me. However, in XC1, there's skills that debuff and inflict status effects on enemies, and buff your team. I'm well aware such skills existed in XC2 too, but it weren't widely used since you can just use Specials to defeat the enemies quicker, and the skills weren't feel effective as well. In XC1, the Vision mechanics constantly pushed you to think quicker and change your strategies in order to prevent your team from getting killed. And the skills in XC1 were more diverse and useful than XC2 in my view, which allowed me to come up with different strategies on different bosses and enemies. But hey everyone view things differently. So while I preferred the combat system in XC1 than XC2, I respect your opinion and I do see the fun in XC2.

@Otaku_ Potato there are too many and they are too gut wrenching. Heck people get mad if I spoil even some side quests. (Bana the betrayer and melancholy tyrea are my favorite) just know that the main plot is much more hype than the initial plot that is set up. And even the initial plot is super hype.

Phat spoilers. Like, full game, major plot twist spoilers incoming:
"It begins: the resurrection of the bionis"
Hearing the line in the trailer makes you think the bionis (biological titan that all the humans live on) is dying, that it's getting invaded by the mechon and the characters need to repel the assaults in order for life on the bionis to regenerate.
In actuality, this line is used when the bionis is ACTUALLY reviving. Like, moving entire areas and opening new paths when it stands up. During the game, you'll notice that when people die, "their remains are returned to the bionis" (basically, buried to decompose and return biomass to the bionis). Around the time this line is said, you realize the bionis has been FEEDING off of this process in order to revive itself. The bionis doesn't want to give life like you believe the entire game, it wants to take it and feed itself.
There's a lot more to it than that, but that's the general premise. The resurrection of the bionis isn't a hope for change, it's the death of living things.
See this, GameFreak? THIS is how you do a remake.
The visuals are gorgeous, the face models are less blurry and more detailed, the remixed music sounds incredible, voice acting still sounds amazing, the UI system is smooth and snappy, cutscenes look better than ever, and the epilogue is looking interesting.
I bought this game on every system it was on, and I will happily buy it again. I love it that much, and I'm so glad that my favorite JRPG of all time is getting the love and attention it deserves.

Which GameFreak remake has been bad? FR and LG, HeartGold and SoulSilver were great, so were ORAS. The music remixes were fantastic, the UI much improved. Unless you're talking about Let's Go, but those aren't really remakes... and neither are they bad. The art direction in all of those games is great ; not everything has to look photorealistic or have intricate cutscenes.

And OR/AS is lacking passion? I felt like it was a fine remake, although not quite as good as HG/SS was.
Shulk, Reyn, Dunban, Fiora....and....MELIA OMG, you did a great job at making them look excellent. This will easily be one of the games that I pass down to the next generation. No one should ever forget this game, and the amount of joy, memories, and feelings it has caused for each and everyone of us. May Xenoblade be remembered throughout the next millenia and so on. It is our duty to share this game with our family and peers. Xenoblade, truly a masterpiece it is. Amazing OST, unforgettable characters, mind-bending plot, and most importantly, what games are for...the gameplay. This game shines in the JRPG community, it is a free roam game, and it isn't quite turnbased however it has cool down for arts and auto attacks. It isn't your typical JRPG. It's something more than that. A treasure that can be passed on. An unforgettable game to say the very least. This is the type of game that needs to be brought up more to people. This. Is. Xenoblade. Pyra has it at the very beginning of XC2, so technically not.
And from what I can tell, you'll be able to see Alvis after the events under colony 6, before he's even introduced as a character in Makna.
That core crystal is also on his necklace, not attached to his body, so it could just be a neat reference for people who haven't played XC1 yet, until he's revealed to be the creator of the world at the end of the game, then they'll realize it wasn't just there for decoration.
Oh makes me excited that there'll be other small references to XC2 especially bear the end of the game!!
