I had a 2017 1LE 6 speed and it was a car that I wish I never sold. The suspension is the best. Highly recommend anyone get the SS 1LE you will not be disappointed
I just bought one a 18' 2SS 1LE with 6k miles. I can't even tell you how much fun I was to drive and how shocked I was (am) by the handling, power delivery. I know..its a 1LE but WOW! I was trying to keep it cool and not just start laughing with joy while the salesman was in the car🤣
All 2SS and 1LE’s have the option to tell tire temp. Some just have to be changed in the settings to be on the main screen.

That's one nice Camaro SS-1LE!!! Chevy needs to do something special with this car though, like a Z/28 or a special edition LT5 ZL1 to finish the 6th gen camaro off! its needs some proper attention... One day I hope to have a 6th gen ZL1!

Thats a 2SS 1LE. The 1SS 1LE won't have the heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, camera rear view mirror, blind spot monitoring, or the interior accent lighting.
Face it, the SS 1LE is dope.
If you don’t need the track stuff the LT1 @ $35k is a bargain. I’ve seen them in the low 30s recently. Very tempting.

GM has had the skip shift in its manuals since at least the 90s of not the 80s. It tries to force you from 1st to 4th. It comes on at the most annoying times like you witnessed when turning left into an intersection. You can avoid it by shifting early or holding the shift till it goes away. You can also avoid it by giving it more throttle. There is also a skip shift eliminator you can install. The message will still come up but the solenoid won’t activate. I have it on the SS sedan and it’s not only annoying but i feel it’s also dangerous at times.
So explain how that works for someone wanting to buy one of these. I test drove a 2022 manual and I was kinda rusty on manuals as it's been since 2006 since I drove a Ford ranger manual lol. So I have no clue about shift skip
@@TheReaper88 I continue to daily drive my 2015, after a few weeks you get used to the skip shift and can work around it. Getting a smooth shift with these transmissions are a little tricky however with some practice you can really have some fun with it.
It's to avoid "gas gussler" tax and keep MSRP down. Chevrolet knows we don't like it. They don't either.

I'm surprised how tall the individual gears are as well as 5th and 6th being the overdrive gears.
I love my 18 1LE. Such a great car. Can't wait till the snow and salty roads go away so I can start driving it again.
Do have the gopro head strap on or a hat 🧢 with Gopro attached. I just bought a Camaros and struggling to find good angle. I like your angle

I purchased one in December, identical to the one your driving. Love this car, mine is a automatic. Took it on a trip and I got 25.8 mpg going and coming back 28.2 mpg. Around town I get 17 to 18 mpg. I only have 1200 miles on it, kind of curious what the mpg will be when broken in. Funny thing I live in California and they band the sells of the car in January because of the brake pads.
Expect to replace tires often.

This is what chevy should do if they seriously wanna boost sales om the camaro:
Put the same lt2 engine in the c8 in the ss trim of the camaro. So the lt1 camaro will have the lt1 455 hp engine and the more expensive ss trim will have the more powerful lt2 engine. That will justify the price bump of the ss and it will have more hp than the scatpack. It will have the camaro performing high 3s 0-60 and low 12s to even high 11s
Bet that’s what Gm does, if they do extend past 2023. Or that would be the new Z28 to answer to the new Mach 1 and keep the z28 NA with no SC
@@Linknelson The Mach 1 is an answer to the SS 1LE... and its still slower around a road course...
@@Linknelson Probably won't see another Z28 due to the low sales of the last one. On top of that, Camaro sales are trailing the Mustang and Challenger in general.
Camaro is dying slowly. Mustang outsold them 2:1 last year. Good news is u can get these pretty cheap now.

Great video on this, Australia killed off these type of classic V8's of life is now pretty boring. A shining light Lexus are apparently bringing out the new IS with a V8 one can only hope. Otherwise might have to move ato a warm part of America!. Cheers from Down Under.

Ben, I think you should by a Hyundai Veloster N to replace your Supra because that’s a car that has a ton of fun because of the loud exhaust system that this car has and the presicion sharp handling

I had a 2017 krypton green SS 1LE. Great car for a secondary car. Miserable daily driver. That's just my opinion. I traded it in for a 2019 trailboss

The SS does give you tire Temp in the drive screen. Here we only saw the "info" screen. Also, just an FYI, if your in 1st gear, and it takes you longer than 3 seconds to get above 30 mph, meaning you're driving casual, the gate automatically directs you to 4th gear. If you drive the least bit aggressively you don't get that fuel saving gate to 4th. To try forcing it into 2nd gear can cause transmission damage.

Is it OK to shift down to 1st gear going 40 mph? I know it's a Tremec but seems like it good be hard on the transmission.
@@JCTiggs1 you can certainly downshift to 1st if you're doing no more than 40 mph, but you're go onna wanna make sure that you you either blip the throttle or have the rev match on. The engine is made for high revs, so find where you're comfortable in 1st before upshifting to 2nd, and right around that speed or rpm is where you're best suited to downshift 8nto 1st. Hope I'm making sense. 😂

not it doesn't tell you what gears to skip. that's a feature called skip shift. GM has been using it in their f body cars and corvettes since 1993. it locks you out of 2nd and puts you into 4th for fuel economy. its simply the worlds most annoying feature. fortunately companies make a plug for the wiring harness to delete this feature

To me the mustang is too curvy and "beautiful".. very European... the Challenger and the Camaro still have those aggresive looks and lines to back up their push-rod V8 roars

The problem with GM is that they build low quality cars. Yes the engine may be a good engine, but what about all the stuff attached to it? I owned a 90s camaro. The actual switch to turn the AC on went bad... When is the last time you ever had a switch go bad on you? Well if it was built by GM it very well may. This among a lot of other problems. The other issue is the visibility. The Camaro doesn't have any. Then there's practicality. Why are scatpacks selling like hotcakes? They are practical and you could drive them every day comfortably. Do the math and u can see why these cars simply aren't selling.
I've replaced ac switches in 2 fords and a Mazda... I guess those cars are "low quality" as well using your logic. You do know most manufacturers outsource the ancillary parts and pieces to third parties right? The point is the actual part is not manufactured by the Car Maker directly, in this case, the ac switch. As for visibility how much actual time do you have driving a 5th or 6th gen Camaro? I'm guessing zero and you are parroting the usual internet BS.

If the little screen is important to you then you should probably look at something besides a sports car.
