lovely - definitely a 'nordic noire' vibe but exactly the technique i am lookking for - have been trying to create a background synth layer for a track which sounds ok but this is what i really need - something that is evolving and has a key center but not too in the foreground - thanks! will look at doing a course or session with you at some point 😊 ~andy ink
What an honor, I truly appreciate it! I just saw you’ve signed up for my free guide and email list. You will get the course offered for 50% off in the next few days so make sure to open the emails (check spam folder/ promotions folder). Cheers and thanks for the support, it means a lot! 🙌🏻
Would it be possible to share the model and samples of the kick, rumble, hat and shaker? I would like to carry out your lesson as faithfully as possible.
Since the samples are from third party providers, I’d find myself on sketchy legal territory with that. But I’m working on my own sample packs and will share free (but also paid) stuff from future tutorials. All in all, it’s important to remember that you have to understand the first principles of what I’m doing. It’s less about owning the same resources.
@@pickyourselfofficial I understand. So do you have a tutorial where you can clearly see the effects on each drum track? I would like to have the same sound quality on 3 or 4 tracks with, for example, the 909 kit provided by Ableton Live.
@@benjamingervy3229 so first of all, there is not much going on on the other channels. Just really well chosen sounds (which is part of my overall production philosophy. That being said, here are a couple of tutorials that might specifically help you: Mixing kick and bass: ruclips.net/video/jPjbM9PCmjc/видео.html Rumble Kick/ Bass: ruclips.net/video/kYHrZHZk2vc/видео.html Layering Kick Drums: ruclips.net/video/UUybhqf3WgQ/видео.html
Great video, I've added a note but it keeps re-triggering the LFO to the start rather than a smooth motion throughout, what should i change on the LFO? And when using the Grain Delay in Ableton, shall i set it to 'pitch' or 'Frequency?
I think the easiest solution would be to use the max for live lfo device instead of the internal lfo of the synth and map it to the parameter you want. This should work independently of the midi note start

If you have a techno course, I'll buy it right away. I really like the way you explain, watched all your videos in a day. Thanks.

Awesome, thanks! :)
thanks for the video! do you have maybe the link to the paper of la monte young, like you mentioned in the video? :)
Fantastic, very well explain! Thank you
That means a lot, thank you for the great feedback!
super cool! just why didn't you cut the low frequency in the original signal as it has a unison and make it stereo in that area?

@@pickyourselfofficial great idea that - cheers 👋
would you recommend layering drones with vocals? i find it hard to add a very prominent synth layer when a vocal is present. Any thoughts?
Thank you!
Dang this is cool.. I use logic tho so kinda tricky for things to translate maybe.
The principles are the same. So just use whatever Wavetable synth you have. And if you don’t have one get vital or serum :P
👍
👌 sehr kreativ und inspirierend... Dankeschön für deine tuts
Danke dir für den Kommentar, freut mich sehr :)
