@@MattFlanc I'm sorry for my english I perhabs was not very clear. I dont mean a 'Drone lab' pack Im talkin about your process chain, why u used it in 'feedback loop'. For example why u create 'low end' track n what is that used for, what is the 'press play' track and why. Why u used 'these crazy FX chain' called 'Sonar'. Why u used these devices not other ones....Anyway thx for sharing yr knowladge.
Thanks for the great tutorial! :) I have just recently bought Ableton so this might be a stupid question, but I'm wondering is it normal that there doesn't come a sound from Drone Lab instruments like for example Cyber Angelic Drone, unless you play with your keyboard? Cause that's not the case with the Tree Tone for example so that's why I'm having some doubts. I'm just asking this to make sure that there's nothing wrong cause I have had some issues with Max For Live and this is a Max for Live pack.
Thanks! That is correct. In fact, most instruments will not make a sound without playing something on a keyboard. Tree Tone is different in that it is a self generating instrument. Hope this helps!
are you able to see the inner workings of the instruments? As in the ADSR, Filter, VCO, etc or is that all "behind the scenes", and you only get the pre-mapped macros?
In the improvisation set with vinyl distortion, I don’t get the sonar device’s fx chain like you do. Do you think it’s because I have Live 11 Standard and not suite?
That’s possible! However this video was recorded with the beta version of Ableton 11 Suite, and I know that the packs have also changed quite a lot since then
Hi Matt. I'm just wondering what is creating the drone sounds at the end? Is it just feedback going into those crazy FX chains? Or is there a sound source?
Hi Daz. So there is in fact an audio source. The "Vinyl Distortion" effect in Ableton is not only an audio effect, but it also generates some random noise and crackles. And that is the audio source. A feedback loop is created with those random noises + add some crazy processing, and then you get those drone sounds. Hope this answers your question😁
I've spent a lot of money unnecessarily on VST synths, and this one is simply better than the others.
wow these are nuts like omnisphere level. i guess i will have to buy!
Many thanks for this video. It helped me in making the decision to buy Live and Drone Lab.
That's awesome! I'd love to hear if you make something!
Great video Matt. Would love to see more of these styles of videos with other Ableton packs.
Thanks! I’ll see what I can do :)
I want to get Ableton just for this. It looks amazing
Yeah right?! Unfortunately it's not free anymore😢

Absolutely!
Hi, do you have a video when u explain FX chains u use to manipulate the signal? Would be great to understand what is hidden behind it.Thx
Unfortunately I haven't made another video about this pack. But if you've got Ableton 11, you can take a look at that yourself

Hi ! Where can i get this pack? I didnt found it on your website. Thanks !

@@MattFlanc Indeed. I'm surprised there isn't more documentation or tutorials on this deep pack, but yours covers a lot of ground and is inspiring.
goddamn this is dank
Yeah right?!
Do you need Live Suite 11 for this or will any edition do?
It used to be included with 11, but they removed it and now you have to buy it separately. www.ableton.com/en/packs/drone-lab/
👌🏻

what kind of music do you guys make with drone lab?
Can this pack also work with Ableton 9 suite?
Unfortunately those packs are only for live 11
hi nice video / is possible to get harmonic Drone gen. root Midi note send to other tracks somehow ?
Hi SonarScope, thank you! Can you clarify what you mean exactly?
limiter dosn't 'limit' the damages on ear and speakers!
Can you import your own samples?
I would have to check to be sure. But devices that use a samper should allow you to import your own samples
Where can i get this?
If you have bought Ableton Live 11 (Suite), you go to packs in the browser. There should be a dropdown with the packs you have yet to install
Watahell????!!! 😭😭😭
