Got a UM690 1TB / 32GB unit on order with Minisforum. Been using their 5900HX as my daily driver and been very happy. Impressed with everything I've seen from AMD on their 6000 series APU's so decided to update. I'm a pragmatic IT guy so live by the rule of buying the right tool for the job and as the most demanding game I play is Tower of Fantasy / Genshin Impact the UM690 will be fine. Playing at 1440p minimum settings in Tower of Fantasy I'm seeing a 32fps average, which for an APU at that rez on the 5900HX is still pretty impressive. Looking forward to what the 6900HX can do. Having that USB4 on the UM690, its future proofed via an external e-gpu. Love your channel. Its why I'm into this little hobby myself and really looking forward to that review of faster ram in the UM690. Pretty amazing seeing how mini PC's have come along in the past few years.
One thing that's really a priority for me is fan noise. Would love to hear more commentary in your reviews for these at idle/under load, and actual recordings of sound.
The B550 is pretty much silent, thanks to the big fan and proper low profile heatsink with heat pipes. (not the blower-type cpu cooler most of these minis have...)
agree completely, noise output always comes higher on my priorities list than CPU / GPU grunt. if it's going to be noticeably audible and therefore irritating the sh1t outta me, then it is simply not a consideration
Agree. I want a SILENT PC for incorporation into an equipment rack that is in-room.. Quiet isn't good enough. Great audio equipment is silent. I was excited to see the review, and I watched hoping to continue with the comments on noise levels as was done on the first PC review. But now I realize that the review is essentially worthless. Anybody can get a small form factor PC, and more power does not make for the criteria for judging best.
Love the videos, I think they could be better if you had the dimensions listed for quicker comparisons, as it's hard to tell how big or small some of these are when they're isolated with white backgrounds and zoomed in on.
Great video! Nice to know all the options available. I'm more of a laptop guy myself, but I have family that are not PC savvy nor carry laptops. They just want to watch videos (Netflix/Hulu/Disney plus/RUclips/Instagram), pay bills, and maybe fill out job applications online if they are looking to change. These videos increase my PC knowledge on PC mini desktop options and informing family what is the best option for their home setup.
I built my X300 with a single slot 6400 and a Ryzen 5 4500, with 16gbs of RAM. I've ended up loving it more than my behemoth 3900X/6900XT machine. It's rock solid and a great compromise between size and performance. Yes, I know I could have gotten a better GPU but it wasn't intended to be forever in that machine. Was originally purchased as a VM passthrough card, but I can't bring myself to take the system apart now. By and far my favorite small form factor machine.
@Mosestylez Correct, I play MMOs primarily so it's never under much load. I added a slim Noctua fan to boost airflow shortly after I built it. It's functionally silent.

My best buy of 2022 was the steam deck. It's price to performance just can't be beat... and it's a handheld when it's not sitting on its dock. I put a 35$ 256g m.2 drive in a 400$ base model and dual boot windows from a 1tb SD card. I got the number one recently. No complaints. It freezes on rare occasion, but I think that is just a driver issue. It is fresh out of the factory and will need some driver updates. I use mine flat thou, so I have to buy a few feet for it for ventilation.

I wanna know your recommendations of these Mini PC's peripherals as a "mobile pc" like a laptops for a portability side, other than being a stationery Home Theater mini PC or Console-like machine in your home
ETA’s calling you out, Zotac! You coulda been here, today… … joking apart, I’m intrigued by those machines too. The specs of the 2022 Zotacs are too similar to those of my desktop machine for that scale of expenditure (not gonna buy the same PC twice…), but I’m confident that 2023 will be the year.
Could you make a video especially listing and showcasing the best PC's and Mini PC's for emulation from lower to bigger budget? Love the channel btw :D
i am using a hp elitedesk 705 g4 for my old 7th gen backlog games. works like a charm on my portable hori monitor. i also have a dell 3020 with a 35w i7. great for psp and ps2 emulation and just some good old rts. of course they are mostly used as secondary monitors playing youtube or streaming. love the progress of technology. i can't wait to ditch my full size tower someday.
I bought the Minisforum NUCX i7 32GB RAM model based upon your review, and, let me just say, it's an absolute monster of a machine. Incredible performance, but, better still, my wife & I both work from home, desks sitting 5 ft apart, and this thing is deadly quiet, even with the "gaming button" wattage boost active. The only negative seems to be that there are apparently some strange latency issues on occasion, as confirmed by notebookcheck. Don't know if it's the SSD they chose, or what, but, I can't say I've noticed anything restrictive. Would be curious to know if you've run into any stuttering or slowdowns. Thanks for what you do, and, happy holidays!
I haven't noticed any latency issues on my NUCX i7.. I bought the barebones so I could pick my own SSD's and ram so it might be possible that is part of your issue. I am using Crucial p5 plus (1 and 2 TB versions) plus Crucial ram. The only time this PC isn't quiet is when you use the Intel NUC software studio and toggle the fan speed to max using the benchmark mode. As for temps seen over long hours of gaming with the system set to performance in Windows 11 and the gaming button pressed I never see temps higher than 68C. The fans even help keep my drives cool with temps hovering around 40C from both drives during use. There is definitely room in the system for drives with heatsinks on them. My only "complaint" about the system is the lack of USB ports, but considering that it is a repurposed Intel NUCX laptop kit motherboard that has the exact same daughter boards on it that is to be expected. There just isn't any way to add extra ports to the system internally. I solved my problem with a nice thunderbolt dock
I bought a MinisForum X500 in January 2022. Always a PiTA to start, the MB finally died in Nov-2022 and MSF blamed my use of Linux! I have now moved the CPU, RAM and SSD's to a new ASRock x300 case and MB, and everything is working again. I love the MSF form factor, but their reliability and service is lacking. :(
Iv been thinking and saving up for one and this video helped so much thank you! For a person like me who doesn't have great wifi? I think mini PCs are a go! Looking for one that can run triple A games!
Hey man you should mention the hp elite desk 705 mini its a ryzen based 2400g system with 16gb of memory and a 256gb m.2 ssd....they run a $150 shipped on ebay currently..an 8gb ram variant sells for $120 shipped I think you would agree with that a $120 shipped for a ryzen 5 2400g is quite a steal of a deal and its faster than the i5-1135g7 too
Great video, price point would help. When i looked up the pricing there was a very wide range between your list, which makes comparisons a bit unfair. But thanks for the info!
👍 👍 👍 🍀 Yeah, this mini computers are amazing! They remind me a bit old 8 and 16 bit computers! Probably it would be possible to use them for emulating those retro machines! Cool videos as always on your channel! I'm also learning from you how to make video recording and editing. Well done!
If you only want to emulate 8 and 16 bit machines, these mini PCs are all overkill. You can emulate everything up to and including a Nintendo 64 with a sub-$100 Raspberry Pi 4... assuming you can find one in stock.
I love your channel & all your reviews about mini pc’s. Among all the mini pc’s that you’ve reviewed, which would you recommend that can run adobe creative suites smoothly? Thank you. Keep on making more mini pc videos. 🥰
This is the video I’ve been waiting for. I have a rec room masters sit down cabinet running a ps4 but I really want to get a minipc for it so I can run SF6 when it comes out
My favorite is the ASUS mini pc pn52, use it mainly to cloud game with Geforce Now Ultimate, it´s nice to be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 with everything at max settings and zero fan noise :D
Very interesting review. I hope can see a preview of the new Minis Forum NAD9 with the Intel i9-12900H, like the preview of the really interesting UM690 AMD powered (i can't decide if one or another it's the best, and the Morefine S600/M600 are very interesting too, but with much shorter warranty for Europe...). Anyway, good job 👍
Any recommendations on which one would be good to hook up to a monitor for basic internet use and download/watch 4k movies? I'd like to be able to put a decent sized SSD in it and run Linux Mint(can't stand windows). The cheaper the better as long as it can do those things.
I want to add a mini pc to a full sim rig setup for old school arcade driving games. Right now I'm using a ps4 for gran turismo with a logitech wheel, so I'm looking for that Outrun, Daytona, emulation setup. What's a good recommendation and something that can handle the peripherals and emulation without being expensive?
It looks more like a review based on personal preference. For example, price points were not considered, and even flexibility/reusability was not taken into account - the Deskmeet won hands down in this aspect with its repleaceable itx mb, and discrete gfx. That minisforum model with an exposed gpu&psu would never be in my top10, it's more an impratical anomaly than any sort of feat.

Nucxi7 is literally just a laptop without a screen and wirh better cooling. It's even priced the same. It's like do you want a quieter operation (nucx) or have the same performance but be fully portable with a HD screen, keyboard, trackpad, and battery? You are just paying for the novelty if you get nucx, unlike stuff like the Beelink and minisforums that are truly mini and can do things like mount to your monitor and do full operation (power and display) from one USBC plug.
Built and Asrock deskmeet and fried a cpu with the stock cooler. May have been a preexisting condition but the temps were too high till I dropped a noctua l9 cooler which brought the temps way down. Love the size! Run a 6600 in it and it fits fine.
I got the minis forum b550 I like it. I haven't disconnected the computer from the card because i haven't need to take it anywhere. I am ordered the UM690.
got my hx90g, don't update to 22h2 there's massive performance hit like i can't play 720p video and takes 20 seconds to open task manager. go back to 21h2 and it's fine.
Finally pulled the trigger on a mini PC for the workshop, ASBS TK11 really impressed so far upgraded ram and added 2nd m.2 drive. Do not use included hdmi cable if you want 4k60. Support was very quick to respond and answered my questions. No complaints other than it runs a bit hot, but I expected it.
Regarding 13:07, would you say it's quieter than the HX90G at full load? I got the HX90G and it'll go up to nearly 50 dBA while playing Tiny Tina's Wonderlands on max settings at 1080p. I was a bit disappointed, because I thought it'd be a little quieter, based on marketing and reviews. But other than that, I love the HX90G. Close to perfect. Just needs to be quieter. So I'm still looking for my perfect mini PC, I guess.
@@YAHWEHBENEVOLENCIA Wish I could help, but I don't have that knowledge. I'm pretty sure you're trying to ask ETA PRIME though. In that case, I can only wish you luck (he gets a lot of comments and can't respond to many of them). Actually, my advice is to try asking on someone else's video related to one of said products, or a tech forum, etc.
I have regretted getting the B550. Main reason is lack of support. No AMD AGESA BIOS updates, no response from support. Only works with 5700G max - no upgrade path. It's a shame really as it has potential. (Also best heatpipe based cooling in all of these minis) Running Windows 10 with an FSP Dagger SFX PSU and a 3070 FE, 64GB DDR4 @3200 and 2xNVME SSD's.
Wasn't a fan of the MELE Quiter2, because startup on power wasn't possible via the bios. So could not use this machine for my arcade. Hopefully they allowed this with MELE Quiter3 version.
The more I've been watching these videos of these mini gaming PCs I would really like one and get away from the big power consuming gaming towers and take advantage of something like this with an external GPU enclosure.

just installed mine with a asus 3060ti mini, I strongly recommend you to install it first, before ram, because how tight the allowance is
YOU'RE ALMOST at 1 Millions SUBS! 😀😀😀
After years of watching these mini PC videos. Picked up a UM580 and liking it a lot.
I ordered the nucxi7 and hearing you say that its your favorite just made my buyers remorse vanish. Thank you for your great reviews.
I got the number one recently. No complaints. It freezes on rare occasion, but I think that is just a driver issue. It is fresh out of the factory and will need some driver updates. I use mine flat thou, so I have to buy a few feet for it for ventilation.
Is it good for gaming?
@@iatesomefrieslol All the games I have played on it have had no problems except for the Spiderman Remastered I just downloaded. I think that game is not optimized for this rig, so it is chopy AF. So I will have to play it on my AMD rig upstairs.
An important niche in computers not many people cover
I don't own one, but the Beelink SEi12 really appeals to me. I regret not buying one during black Friday. i5-1235U for mid $300 is great. I have a Lenovo laptop with a i3-1215 and it's pretty impressive for the $299 I paid. It made me want the i5-1235U.
I'm watching closely for their new models with the i5-1240p/i5-1260p. Supposed to be super quiet.
Please a video regarding to fanless mini PC 👍🏻😉🙂
I wanna know your recommendations of these Mini PC's peripherals as a "mobile pc" like a laptops for a portability side, other than being a stationery Home Theater mini PC or Console-like machine in your home
ETA’s calling you out, Zotac! You coulda been here, today…
… joking apart, I’m intrigued by those machines too. The specs of the 2022 Zotacs are too similar to those of my desktop machine for that scale of expenditure (not gonna buy the same PC twice…), but I’m confident that 2023 will be the year.
I recently got a beelink sei 8 and it absolutely rocks!
Could you make a video especially listing and showcasing the best PC's and Mini PC's for emulation from lower to bigger budget? Love the channel btw :D
I bought a Chuwi Mini PC this year. Seems ok for what I use computers for.
i am using a hp elitedesk 705 g4 for my old 7th gen backlog games. works like a charm on my portable hori monitor. i also have a dell 3020 with a 35w i7. great for psp and ps2 emulation and just some good old rts. of course they are mostly used as secondary monitors playing youtube or streaming. love the progress of technology. i can't wait to ditch my full size tower someday.

We've bought dozens of Meles, they're pretty good mini pcs and no fans to go bad.

Very interesting video, thanks for it ! Just a little thing : the prices are very different from one model to another...

Amazing channel 👍
The related firewall-style versions of most of these mini-PCs I think are a little bit better.

It’s nice how things go smol nowadays but I still love my Conswole. 👍
@@wasitacatisaw83 True, but 1) it's more universal if you change the idea 2) you can also emulate newer consoles ex. Sony Playstation...
I love your channel & all your reviews about mini pc’s. Among all the mini pc’s that you’ve reviewed, which would you recommend that can run adobe creative suites smoothly? Thank you. Keep on making more mini pc videos. 🥰
Why wasn’t the Zotac Magnus One included in this list? It could easily be number 1 as well for how small it is and the performance it provides.
Give this a year or so and these mini pc's will be really impressive
Very interesting review.
I hope can see a preview of the new Minis Forum NAD9 with the Intel i9-12900H, like the preview of the really interesting UM690 AMD powered (i can't decide if one or another it's the best, and the Morefine S600/M600 are very interesting too, but with much shorter warranty for Europe...).
Anyway, good job 👍

What minipc can you recommend for gaming?
Shame the HX90G didn’t come with the 6900HX and DDR5 ram, now that would have been a beast!!
Good list, but probably better to give a list of the best by categories instance of just which has highest specs.
محتواك جميل واسلوبك بالشرح جميل ومبسط
It looks more like a review based on personal preference. For example, price points were not considered, and even flexibility/reusability was not taken into account - the Deskmeet won hands down in this aspect with its repleaceable itx mb, and discrete gfx. That minisforum model with an exposed gpu&psu would never be in my top10, it's more an impratical anomaly than any sort of feat.

@@YAHWEHBENEVOLENCIA ETAPrime gave a comprehensive review, try search youtube; if you have an r58x, moving to a shield is not worth it from a purely gaming perspective, unless you need netflix certification etx

A better card that fits is the powercolor fighter 6650xt, tested it myself. Also the evga 3060ti
Built and Asrock deskmeet and fried a cpu with the stock cooler. May have been a preexisting condition but the temps were too high till I dropped a noctua l9 cooler which brought the temps way down. Love the size! Run a 6600 in it and it fits fine.
Could the nucx i5 version be considered on par with the HX90G?
I got the minis forum b550 I like it. I haven't disconnected the computer from the card because i haven't need to take it anywhere. I am ordered the UM690.
The HX90G has the 6600m, not the 660m.
Text on screen was correct.
Where's the B660W? It will support 13900 and maybe the raptor lake refresh in 2023. It beats all of these and even has Gen5 NVMe support.
got my hx90g, don't update to 22h2 there's massive performance hit like i can't play 720p video and takes 20 seconds to open task manager. go back to 21h2 and it's fine.
5:59 i had really a good duck install a thunderbolt lock on these intel knocks
Regarding 13:07, would you say it's quieter than the HX90G at full load?
I got the HX90G and it'll go up to nearly 50 dBA while playing Tiny Tina's Wonderlands on max settings at 1080p. I was a bit disappointed, because I thought it'd be a little quieter, based on marketing and reviews. But other than that, I love the HX90G. Close to perfect. Just needs to be quieter. So I'm still looking for my perfect mini PC, I guess.
Yep, pretty nice production on the videos, but I'm afraid I don't trust the information much anymore.

In that case, I can only wish you luck (he gets a lot of comments and can't respond to many of them). Actually, my advice is to try asking on someone else's video related to one of said products, or a tech forum, etc.
Do you have a video on what the best emulation mini PC is?
First time here. Going by just the voice: Are you secretly Tom Hanks? 😀
I have regretted getting the B550. Main reason is lack of support. No AMD AGESA BIOS updates, no response from support. Only works with 5700G max - no upgrade path. It's a shame really as it has potential. (Also best heatpipe based cooling in all of these minis) Running Windows 10 with an FSP Dagger SFX PSU and a 3070 FE, 64GB DDR4 @3200 and 2xNVME SSD's.

iMagine a personal supercomputer assembled with LEGO style blocks for memory-storage, above a clever power supply that always works.
Beelink Ryzen 5 5000 Series at 350$ is for me the best deal. 500$ is my cross line between mini pc and full desktop pc.
Wasn't a fan of the MELE Quiter2, because startup on power wasn't possible via the bios. So could not use this machine for my arcade. Hopefully they allowed this with MELE Quiter3 version.
You should review budget laptops. Cost around the same or less than sme f the mini PCs you review.
Admittedly I wish my nuc xi7 worked properly (displays don't get turned on with the device)... when I conduct the proper rituals it certainly is nice.
The more I've been watching these videos of these mini gaming PCs I would really like one and get away from the big power consuming gaming towers and take advantage of something like this with an external GPU enclosure.
Are there any good fanless ryzen 6800 or intel 12th gen options out there?
