The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via CBS All Access, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Every night, viewers can expect: Comedy, humor, funny moments, witty interviews, celebrities, famous people, movie stars, bits, humorous celebrities doing bits, funny celebs, big group photos of every star from Hollywood, even the reclusive ones, plus also jokes.
In a time when most other hosts would have probably talked to a female guest about more superficial things, Colbert always sets an example by maintaining stimulating conversation with all his guests, without any discrimination on the basis of their gender, colour or orientation. No wonder he has quickly passed Fallon's show to the top.
I have a dream, that one day, I will make eye contact with Olivia Wilde for a full second.
That's a very reasonable dream! Good luck with it!
Well, there are many women who look beautiful when they're all made-up with cosmetics. If you pass by them without their makeup on you could easily not notice them. Olivia Wilde doesn't have that luck. Increases your odds ;) I've made eye contact with a few women as super stunning as she, and it's always been when I didn't see it coming, like opening a door or bumping into a person and then looking at them (or when I saw my wife for the first time in her wedding dress). It literally takes my breath away, stuns me, makes me take a step back in awe. Even if you don't meet Olivia (waiting to get her autograph?), you will probably meet eyes with a few women whose eyes will rock you. Enjoy.
Ben M Olivia Wilde is absolutely stunning with or without makeup. Her personality just adds to that
There seems to be an evil correlation between my ability to catch the eye of a fantastic looking woman and being in a situation where that will make the worst possible impression ever. On the plus side, at least that ensures that anyone that stays regardless *must* have a sense of humour :).
If your picture is anything to go by I think you'd be better off with the dream of conquering Mars, making it into a glorious utopia NAMED Olivia, and then giving it to her as a gift to her glory.
Drop dead gorgeous, smart, well-spoken and involved. She's practically perfect. *fans self*
her political views suck
why because she is not a trump supporter?
dan25 Bullshit!
she's famous in hollywood. you could not know her political views at all, just guess, and have a 99% accuracy rate for saying her views suck.
FEELS BRO ITS ALL FOR THE FEELS SCREW ACTUALLY HELPING PEOPLE.
She's so hot you can get second degree burns just watching her.
Olivia Wilde double plus awesome/cool/gorgeous/talented/humble. Chocolate rations increased by 20%
"What Orwell failed to predict was that we would buy the cameras ourselves and that our biggest fear would be that nobody was watching."
Yep. The bit he didn't foresee was us walking with eyes wide open into the trap. It appears Orwell thought better of humanity that it deserves.
I doubt he tried to predict.
This was one of the best interviews I have seen.
Since Colbert took over the show, he's done more than a few interviews that left me thinking "Wow! What an incredible interview!", and on so many different topics. So great to have both fascinating and funny going on.
This one's up there with the Andrew Garfield interview.
It's so cute how I keep seeing this comment on Colbert's videos. We could just as easily say "why is Stephen Colbert afraid to debate Janice in Accounting". There's literally no point giving them a platform and it's unbelievable that has to be pointed out lmao. Good hustle, kid.
Seth- Why is Alex Jones afraid to debate Christopher Hitchens?
krigsful
Alex Jones is afraid of his own shadow. He's a candidate for serious psychological help
Superb interview. Colbert is head and shoulders above other late night hosts in getting interesting guests and bringing out what they have to offer. Also, for 1984 fans, read George Orwell's earlier and perhaps his greatest book, Homage to Catalonia, about his experience serving in the Spanish Civil War. Like 1984 this book is relevant in a scary way about what is going on in today's American politics.
Olivia Wilde/Jason Sudeikis is the most underrated power couple in Hollywood
She's with Jason Sudeikis? I've had no particular opinion about Sudeikis because I don't know much about him, but if Olivia Wilde chose him as her partner, he must be pretty cool.
What I wouldn't give to see 1984 live on stage!
Would you give a few hundred bucks and a plane ticket to New York? Because that is literally what you'd give.
Luke Taylor saw today- it was life-changing
"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command" 1984
It hurts how beautiful and absolutely captivating she is. If I were Fry from Futurama, I would've downloaded Olivia Wilde as my robot girlfriend.
She's so smart. They both did great on this interview, so interesting!
i wish I lived in NY to go and see the play.
For some reason I pictured her as Princess Leia and her speech was like her inspiring the troops. :3
1984 is one of my favorite books, though it's a scary world that Orwell presents us.
He was presenting us the reality we live in now. He predicted the future.
ramsy51 he really, really did. I wouldn't say we're acting completely with what he predicted, but we're getting closer, sadly
I’m not ready for shitty coffee 😭
Of course it's not called '2017'. It should be called '2071'. (Except that we have it here already.)
On a bit of additional trivia, Olivia Wilde was born in the year 1984.
She was literally born to be in the play
"Freedom is slavery", "ignorance is bliss" amazing quotes from 1984.
Ignorance is strength
Omar Rahimi War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength.
BrenBren Hmann my bad last time I read it was 2 and a half years ago
Stephen, thank you for this interview, and Eddie Izzard after. I think the positivity of both in the face of life in a totalitarian world is VERY revolutionary, and it is that positive, knowledgeable artistic revolution that the Resistance must have if the human race is to survive this evil period. Uplifting.
don't care that I used up all my data for the month streaming this video. totally worth it.
she literally has all good features
Mohammad Khan so true
Mohammad Khan Her eyes are kinda Weird to me! 🤔 Not sure Why ppl are SO obsessed with her Looks. She's alright.
it is really refreshing seeing stephen ask her such deep, meaningful questions. when actresses get asked these types of questions instead of ones about their dresses or their love lives, we can see that they can have some really profound answers and messages to share.
I love Olivia Wilde and agree with what she's saying, but can we clarify that the party in 1984 was NOT democratically elected. The past in the book is deliberately hazy, that's the point. However, Winston mentions 'The Revolution' which put the party in power a number of times. It's easy to take pot shots at Trump, but don't change Orwell's masterpiece in order to do it.
Orwell was writing about authoritarianism and the manipulation of truth, but it's important to note he was talking about authoritarian Stalinist communism. He thought that opposition to fascism and nationalism was obvious, which is why he fought it in the Spanish Civil War, and was writing to say to the left 'look, when we beat what we hate, let's make sure we don't become it'. Which is what he saw the USSR as. So the book is relevant today because of Trump's administration and it's relationship with truth. But it's also relevant to antifa and all the other groups who give the left a bad name by becoming what they hate.
Vathek Granted, Donald Trump wasn't really elected democratically either. He lost the popular vote by millions.
Groundhog X Ex-fucking-scuse me? I'm not American, however if I were I'd have voted for Hillary but preferred Bernie. What I am is a member of the UK Lib Dems who detests Trump even more than I detest May, and who is very excited for the wave of liberalism and Europeanism currently running through Europe as a big fuck you to the mistakes of my country and yours last year. What I'm saying is we don't need to manipulate what 1984 says by pretending IngSoc was elected democratically in the book in order to attack Trump as an authoritarian idiot who's manipulated truth to his advantage.
You seem to be just the kind of person that I was referring to at the end of what I said: someone who has become what they hate, who in your desire to open the minds of closed-minded Trump supporters and take them out of their 'us-vs-them' bubble, have become exactly that: someone so close-minded you assume anything countering your narrative must be your enemy and who has also subscribed to this ridiculous 'us-vs-them' dichotomy.
China is probably more Orwellian than the U.S. will ever be.
@Vathek: One (actually two) of the best comments I have ever seen on RUclips! Keep up the awesome perspective mate!
Shall we speak of Cambridge Analytica?
Olivia Wilde looking like a fairy tale princess... I look like the prince before the curse is broken lol
Just the Coolest Dude Yo lmfao
You know, she was technically a princess when she was married to her ex. Fun fact!
I remember hearing about that, didn't they live in a bus at some point? What an interesting life!
So damn happy I got to meet this woman and get a pic when i saw her in 1984. Phenomenal show as well. Holy crap
Fuck she`s cool.
I love her even more after watching that! Intelligence rocks.
Olivia Wilde/Stephen Colbert 2020? sure as hell got my vote!
Always had a crush on Olivia. Didn't realize she was this articulate. She seems to be a really lovely person too.
Colbert makes a joke that he's not a kind person. I think he's probably the kindest guy on TV and probably the most intelligent, too. I'm biased, of course. Biased toward, you know...what's true.
One of my top celebrity crushes for sure. So cultured, so pretty
Got my tickets. July 1st!!!! First broadway play ever
I saw her today in 1984 and she smiled at me as I was sitting in the first row. So cute.
I love her. Ever since I saw her on House, I knew she was something special :D
I could listen to her all day, she's amazing, so smart and so thoughtful.
Another Very Relevant Book is "It Can't Happen Here"
It's shocking how familiar the blurb will sound to you when you read through it.
Look too, at the book JENNIFER GOVERNMENT. Not much ballyhooed, but describes the corporate media menace quite nicely. Olivia rocks!
Linda S.
Max Barry is great. I'm glad someone else sees the parallels between now and that book.
this has to be one of my favourite interviews ever!
Words cannot describe how beautiful Olivia Wilde is and how great of an actress she is. Damn you Dax Shepard!!
Reread 1984 over winter break and remembered why it was one of my favorite books in high school. Eerily relevant to today
This is one of your best interviews Mr Colbert.
Olivia Wilde, you're an angel among demons. I love you, thank you for being as astute and quick as you are
im a simple man i see olivia wilde i click on the video
Aqib Qadeer and like
Why? She's pumping out brats these days. She's ruined forever. Dead.
She's 7 years younger than me. I see her as the stupid little sister...
teppolundgren So, she's unattractive to you because she's had children… and she's too young for you?
She's the perfect age for me. But yes, once a woman becomes a mother, it's all over.
I absolutely love '1984' but I honestly cannot see how a book like that is going to translate into a Broadway show
What a smart, beautiful, adorable woman.
Uplifting & engaging conversation. Excellent to listen to & ponder.
i was a fan of olivia wilde way before she was this open about world problems in general but wow... seeing her talk so powerfully and fearlessly made me love her even more
Damn you Jason Sudeikis...
Harry Styles has entered the chat...
She has the most intriguing face and such lovely eyes
we need Tron 3
Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
Ugh, no. Tron 2 was an abomination. Even Olivia Wilde and David Bowie couldn't save it.
Livid Imp David Bowie is too good for Tron.
Why, even Bowie's "1984" is probably too good for this Broadway rendition of 1984..
I wish Olivia and the rest all the best, though.
It is in the works so I'm hopeful.
Too bad Wilde is considered too 'old' to reprise her role.
Also, its been shelved, since Disney has both Star Wars and Marvel movies under their belt, they don't need it anymore, other than to sit on the property, just in case (TM).
It's sad, really.
It's endearing she is genuinely so grateful for him coming to her show
I love her. So well spoken and smart.
Time to book a flight to New York. I've read the book multiple times. Seeing it on Broadway would be a memorable experience.
I would listen to another hour of their conversation about 1984 and the surveillance state. And now I really wanna see that play!
she is so well-spoken. Like wow.
I'm very glad I've found this..
I never knew so many people understand what I do..
Makes me very happy.
That is what passion for something looks like.. well done Olivia
Love the discourse. Stephen!!!
wow.. wow.. never knew Olivia is such a wonderful human being.
Oliva Wilde is America's Kiera Knightley
Wow - Olivia is wildly talented and articulate. Unexpected that she would have so much presence.
This dress... holy shit.
Having one of the best faces ever and a stunning body isn't enough, she also dressed like a fucking goddess!
When her sleeve cuffs came into view took my breath away. Never had that happen before. Good outfit for St.Pat Day, and Session the Elf Day.
The dress' house is Monique Lhuillier, if any you have the curiosity.
Thanks. The material was clever; see-through when she sat down (showing her legs) but not when she was walking...& the illusion was that the top was also!
ocredo I know awesome dress.
What you mean Stephens blue suit?
Charming and very bright! Nice interview. 🤗🌼
A vegan goddess! What a devastatingly beautiful human being.
This was an amazing interview. Very insightful and conscious of our current government and society. Now I want to go see this play.
such an interesting interview. Well done Stephen
Excellent interview
So much respect for her gained, more than just a beautiful actress but an exemplary person.
2+2 = 5 for Conway.
Jakar!
Alternative math.
DagobertX2 And we have always been at war with -Eurasia- Eastasia.
This is one of the most intelligent conversations iv heard between two people in a very long time.
I have 1984 sitting on my shelf somewhere I think I will read it.
wao.. she was brilliant with her words
It is amazing how relevant 1984 is to this day. A bit depressing, but thought provoking, Great book!
As her boss once said, "Everybody lies."
Just saw the show! It was incredible!
"You don't live here!" ... *rolling*
I used to have the biggest crush of her when I was little. Still do
Thirteen is so passionate in what she does
Wow such powerful message. Now I need to read 1984 A.S.A.P.
have you read it yet?
@@bikeshop2002 I have not actually.😬
Thanks for reminding me. Have you?
@@bikeshop2002 Better 2 years late than never.
I still haven't.😄
@@baburao87 lol I'll say hi in another few years either way
her eyes are so alive. she looks so beautiful and healthy
She is perfect!
She is wicked smart and wicked gorgeous.
YES!! FUCK DOUBLETHINK!
such a great book, remember reading it in 10th grade! a must read if you haven't!!!
She's so gorgeous and has such a great personality. Gotta love a funny/witty woman!
very insightful interview. I'd follow Olivia Wilde into a revolution...
I'm even a bigger fan of her than I was before I watched this! What a great person!
This interview was playing in the background at my home. As soon as Colbert brought up "Alexa", she started playing my music. Funny how that happened as they discussed the "1984" book and how we're being monitored by everything. 😂
not really funny at all. younger generations are conditioned to find it normal but those of us who didn't grow up with all this creepy crap are not really amused
Yes to everything in this video.
Here I thought there was a 1984 movie and I got excited.
Great interview.
Have to say, totally a fan after seeing her in this interview. Excellence!
When i read 1984 i always pictured Julia as Olivia
Now I love Olivia Wild even more
I love her exotic beauty, her eyes are so intriguing and drawing.
Saw this today; the play was horrifying but god the cast were a treasure.
she is as close to perfection as it gets ..
What a wonder woman! I'm in love!
This dress matches her eye colour so well!
Olivia is the coolest :D
her last comment was so good, we missed his joke about her son asking alexa to send back daisy
chills
If only every interview was this intelligent and interesting...
