With all this rain we have had here on the farm, & I mean months of rain, places that are typically not wet, are wet & very muddy. This is an area that that has never been an issue for being wet or being muddy on the farm, & we drive the tractor here all the time. But Mrs. Cog Hill came here to move a feed barrel for the meat chickens, & the tractor just sunk on one side.
We actually thought that getting the tractor unstuck would be relatively easy bc we have gotten it stuck lots of times before, but today, today getting the tractor out of this mud hole proved to be different!

Many have asked why we did not use the bucket to get it out, & we did, but the bucket was in a soupy mess as well, & there was nothing there solid enough for the bucket to push against to move the tractor. Thanks guys! Hope you have the BEST day ever!-Jason & Family

A bucket on a non-articulated set of arms won't get you unstuck. The hydraulics that tilt/dump the bucket aren't usually strong enough, especially on sub-compact tractors.

Just found your videos, mainly because i seen a Kubota stuck in the mud. We got mud everywhere,i got stuck even worse last year all 4wheels just disappeared. I used old gate under loader lift front wheels out then put another gate under them used shovel to dig trench for back wheels then use loader to push while reverse out, it's amazing how much these little tractors can do.i use mine for everything it's my best friend and helper. Subscribed now.

Tie a 10 inch round log across back tires. Use a chain to tie up the log and back it up. You only get 1/2 revolution on back tires. This is coming from my husband.

Awesome Video Jason, Thats what I'm talking about! Normal everyday farm adventures. Been in that situation myself a few times. The curl function of the bucket can help tremendously sometimes. Place bucket in full dump position. Set it on the ground and "Curl" the bucket out while you pull, drive in reverse. Also you could of hooked a strap the ROPS on the high side of the tractor and that may have lifted the sunken up. Keep on Keepin' on!

      @brianmcbride99 5 лет назад +7

Jacob Mader this is a very true statement, and a lesson I’ve learned the hard way many many times. Watching this vid in the beginning with that tractor tire spinning, all you’re doing is digging a bigger hole. Once stuck, put it in reverse, hold off on releasing the clutch(or hydrostat reverse) until you have pressure from the front loader bucket pushing you back, then gently ease off the clutch to not dig holes.

There is such a thing as a set of (plastic? Metal?) "sand tracks" that you use to put under the wheels of vehicles that are stuck in the sand at the beach... they give the wheel traction. You can get them on Amazon or auto parts places and i THINK they might work in mud, too..

Trade that thing in for 4x4 tractor. Get industral lug tires on the front. You use the 4x4 in the truck all the time. You will use 4x4 in the tractor also. You had this anyway. Always need to pull the box blade. Been where you were a few times. Have a Kubota mx5100 and its the best tractor.

You ain't experienced farm life until you've battled a muddy situation!

Isn't there anything you could fill in the low areas? We used landscape cloth and added on top of that lots rock then crusher Rock. Our horses created a septic system right out side the barn. It was literally about 2 to 3 ft deep. But we haven't had any problems after adding the rock. But the landscape cloth kept the rocks and crusher from disappearing into the mud anymore. :) Just a tip. The fine crusher is almost like pavement and doesnt hurt their hooves or the ducks a chicken feet. We used DE in the chicken feed, horse feed and they're area too. :) DE is Great stuff!

Yes! We bought a small kabota tractor when we bought our land too(5.5 acres). Couldn’t do without one.

We have a lot of mud in nw arkansas too which is unusual because it's so rocky. Haven't got stuck yet though. I just got done putting out hay and it was very close.

Get yourself a small sledge hammer and keep it in the tractor tool box. They come in handy when hooping up and unhooking equipment

stuck my JD2440 last spring it has CC in the tires and weights one tire weighs what your little tractor does. i had to pull off the 6' mower and it took my Ford 841 diesel and my F-250 diesel 4x4 and my neighbors jeep with a 12,000 winch pulling together to get me out. took hours to get free.

My favorite homestead video. But Mrs Coghill might need some education on working rain soaked ground. Bless you both.

I have the same tractor. I have tipped it before, never got it stuck though. I live (for another week that is) on a mountain, so the whole property is sloped. Never work on a hillside and not pay attention. I had to use my side by side (looks like yours too) and wenches attached to trees lol

🤣🤣 this looks like it was a case of "i'm a little stuck....i'm going to hit the gas while singing the entire _star spangled banner_ and see if the tractor's free by the end."
    glad you got it out.
