This is a really cool kit, I wouldn't mind snagging one someday and it'd make for a stunning display at club meetings and contests.....if we can ever enjoy those again.
I like the nostalgia look of the old funny cars, nothing against the big biz of today on the strip. In the past we would go to Seattle International Raceways, Kent, Wash. to the BIG event "64 Funny Cars". Very exciting and was so impressed with the air-brushed faux painting of headlights and chrome and other details on those car bodies. Cheers Eh!
first off, thanks for getting your song stuck in my head, lmao. I agree with your opinion of MPC. I would rather build one of their cars than an AMT/ERTL or Monogram any day of the week
Hey Luca, I have this problem with a Revell German Truck's rubber tyres. There is a lot over molded flash on the tyres which is unsightly. It is on the inside/outside wall of the tyre (not the surface that hits the road) and runs the circumference of the tyre. I have tried to cut it off with sprue cutters and a sharp scapel which makes it look worse (like gouges taken out of the wheel). You were the obvious go-to-guy to ask what's the best way to get rid of the rubber flash?
Very cool looking car. I like some TransAms... btw - your t-shirt arrived here in New Zealand last week and it's frikkin awesome. I'm still wearing it now. :D Have you considered doing the Twitter thing? I stopped using Facebook, but still would like to see what you and fellow modellers are up to between videos.
Thanks for your support by getting a shirt. Im so glad you like it. Its cool to know that Skully is now in Middle Earth. I did the Twitter thing years ago. It is something i may look onto again. Time right now is a problem for me. But that will be changing soon.
Sup Luka, How u doing? Never really wanted to do a drag car when i was growing up because the engine always intimidated me. But now, I might consider doing the right kit. We think alike on many of the items. So thx for that gr8 review. I'll be waiting 4 the next episode. Tom, out. God Bless :0
I know, old Video, but now that I have seen it, here it goes. The late Tom West, who worked for MPC back then, told me that this line of Funny Cars and dragsters where supposed to be big name racer kits, but, MPC decided to pull the plug on the license required to do it, hence the generic names on the kits. The Corvette was supposed to be Tom McEwen and the Trans Am was supposed to be Dale Pulde. So there you go, late news, but news nonetheless
I'd much rather have multi piece frames. These are flat on the inside rails making them useless for a detail oriented builder like myself. The Revell and old AMT and MPC frames were round. They did require assembly, but any competent builder is going to get that right. When Monogram did it in their 80's kits my disappointment was complete. Having rebuilt a few of the Monogram frames over the years, upgrading them is possible. Perhaps as much work as having a multi piece to start with. In the end I guess it's how far you wish to take a build.

I forgot about that one and I had it. I traded it to a buddy of mine for this firebird kit. LOL
I’d love for you to do a 2001 dodge Dakota V6 4 door quad cab sport black I think you could do something cool with it

I've seen one of those a couple years ago. The guy wanted $80.00 for it and I just couldn't justify that
