I think Logi Bolt is just a new standard that is also "unifying" meaning it can connect multiple devices to just a single receiver. But ofc you'll be able to connect only newer Logitech products that support this new standard. However, I agree that the older version of the MX Master mouse is currently a better value if you don't care about silent mouse buttons or having a newer receiver.
Edit: DPI is also dependent on the resolution of your monitor. I've got a 4k screen and I use 3.2k DPI and it feels precise enough. On 1080p it'd probably be way too sensitive. 8k DPI seems to be an overkill tho, for now.

At this time there seems to be zero info regarding if it is unifying.. as of yet. Cool about the resolution thing and DPI 👍. The polling rate with fast mouse movement may also become more stuttery. The higher the refresh rate the more noticeable the low polling rate if you are sensitive to stutter.

Finally found some other information about the Logi Bolt... 2 Logi Bolt can work with flow between 2 desktops and when other bolt devices aree released Logitech is allowing unifying for up to 6 devices. This information has been released with the sale of the Logi Bolt reciever on its own.
Thank you for your comment so I can update my information with this newly released information found due to your comment
      www.logitech.com/en-ca/products/mice/logi-bolt-usb-receiver.956-000007.html
UPDATE: information reguarding the lack of unifying should be removed from this video completely once the trimmed sections are rendered out.

A big talking point that goes disregarded by consumers is that Bolt is FIPS compliant. This makes it an easy roll out in sensitive environments who are concerned about regulations and compliance.

@@B1GL0NGJ0HN It'll be a big security advantage when it comes to keyboards since the bluetooth signal is easy for people looking to decode the key strokes. That's a nice detail; good job. FULL ENCRYPTION AND SECURE CONNECTIONS ONLY

@@sparketech yea so the devices come securely paired to the Bolt usb adapter that’s included; when you pair a new device to an existing dongle it goes through a “password” phase. A keyboard will prompt a series of keys before the pairing is completed; a mouse prompts a series of clicks in a random order.
Both of these actions are enabling the FIPS compliant connection. Just fyi. Have a good one!

So true. There's no need to update 4k to 8k. Despite that, I have personally purchased the 3S because of the silence improvement, as I come from another old mouse (a gaming one) and am looking for a more productive setup.

    • @sparketech
      @sparketech  2 года назад +1

Productive? Do you do video editing? Or just gaming? If you use davinci Resolve I have an editor keyboard roundup on my other channel Not Bios Studio (links in the description) along with a pile of audio device reviews.
I've!Changed from my Logitech MX keys to the logickeyboard Astra 2 for Resolve. I also have the speed editor and the editor keyboard and I use to have the K790 from Logitech but wanted to save a bit more desk space. Even as a gamer and non editor if you want silence the MX Keys is a super silent keyboard with a very small key press distance.

Appreciate it, and you're welcome. Not certain if I mentioned in this video but I found out that Bolt for the 3s is also unifying but requires the devices also be bolt. The Bolt connection has extra encryption to make it so the wireless signals for keystrokes and mouse movement are far harder to intercept making the wireless aspect more secure. Not major by any means because the signal doesn't go far but it's something.

I use the Aerox 5 wireless as my main video and editor mouse despite it being clicky. It is faster and really really accurate and the best I have ever used. I reviewed it here on this channel, a very recent video, 2 videos one a rant the other why it is so great showing what it can really do that most computer mice including the 3S cannot do... Like super straight lines.

Hey Matt, long time no hear from. Hope all is well, you're looking more pro on your site by my quick glimpse with that nice logo and background image. I am very tempted to pick up a Fender Acoustasonic guitar. On my other channel I do a lot of mic testing if you need audio information other than Zoom devices (since I have never used those) I may be able to assist. Getting a guitar once again would be a great test for those high end mics.

Just checked out the Acoustasonic. Those are really nice...why are you tempting me like that? Thanks again for sending me that mic years ago. I couldn't get it to work! I brought it to Long and McQuade to test it with some of their equipment, but we just couldn't get it to sound. I'm still holding on to it just incase I can get it to work.

DON'T BUY IF YOU HAVE SMALL HANDS I have logitech mx master 3s and small hands, I can reach the scroll wheel only with the tip of my index finger, doesn't feel ergonomic at all, is too big if you have small hands, feels too heavy comparing to my jelly combo that is really light and very ergonomic also is about £20 ish you can change dpi on the jelly combo mouse, however on this logitech mx master 3s you need to install the sw to change the dpi speed and also to configure the buttons, my company doesn't allow installing the sw which makes the mouse quite useless if you work with 2 screens. Overall unhappy with this mouse, I would make it tilted, lighter, able to configure the buttons in the mouse rather than using sw(like other gaming logitech mouse in market), in conclusion the only thing I like is the fast wheel, apart from that it gave me wrist and arm pain so I have stop using it :( also they don't make it for left handed I contacted logitech support about it and they couldn't reply

    • @sparketech

Apparently it will only when connected with Bluetooth as an option. The USB dongle isn't an apple type port and connected by cable doesn't work with the mouse other than charging.

How so? The polling rate is different and the bolt connection type is different so no it is not misleading because nobody is talking anything other than DPI and clicking sound. I am sorry you misunderstood that concept.
