Every piecer and designer needs to watch and learn from you! I'm working on designing a quilting machine cover for my mother. This is so helpful. Thank you so much ❤
Thank you! This was so helpful to hear you explain the actual elements of building blocks and understanding the concept to help create our own patterns!
I just started following you, and am actually learning. Not just about making a specific quilt but how to actually quilt. Thank you so much. I liked this video and will watch again. Can’t wait to watch more
Thank you for showing me how to make these blocks. I’ve been quoting for a long time and I always had to use a pattern now I’ll have to make my own. I found you shortly on the RUclips site and since then I’ve watched you several times and enjoy immensely keep up the good work.
Oh, Kaye, thank you for this video. You gave me my "ah ha" moment in understanding how to design from the ground(work) up. New subscriber! Happy quilting!
You and your lady friends are adorable 💕 💓 💗 I love watching your color combinations, patterns and the history of women quilters!!! I would love to hang put with your crew!!! Happy quilting to you all and may your bobbins always be full!!❤️❤️❤️
I'm really glad I found your channel. Though there is so much great content, I feel like my mind can relax into planning and piecing now. Thank you, and good health to you!
Kaye, I just found you yesterday on RUclips and am obcessed with you! The way you break things down to basics, simple but direct, is refreshing and so enjoyable. I have learned more in two days from you than I have in two years! Also love your sense of humor!
Being from the south, I could so easily become friends with Ms Kaye! Love her southern drawl, her humor! Where have you been? I discovered your videos today, and am binge watching every video you have put out. I have been quilting for a couple of years, but I am definitely still a beginner, with BIG dreams. Thank you so much for just keeping it simple. I look forward to watching every video. FW, Tx here!
This vid definitely in the "if you can teach a person to fish " vein. You really distill the essence and dispel the mystery by illuminating the grid. Love your energy and your clear love of teaching.
Mary Ellen Hopkins..., her books were awesome in showing the different grids and how to “FILL in” and “CLEAN UP” the areas to mix and match blocks to create total new blocks. We didn’t have computers or or software. But, we did have graph paper, pencils and colored pencils. =)
Thank you for making such a wonderful video explaining this. I just found you and subscribed right away. I love how you explain things, what a fun and informative video.
You came to my guild 10 years ago and the class I took changed the way I sew forever! It was a class based on your rulers. I can still say today that your class was the absolute best I’ve ever taken, and I’ve taken plenty! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with others. To me, it’s worth a million bucks!
Love your video and channel! I look forward to learning more. Im a lover of quilts and always wanted to learn. Need to check out your vidoes for a novice...thank you! 😊
Absolutely liked the tinkering around! I'm not a math person, actually learned the small amount of math I know by sewing! I'm thinking( ut oh) any finished block size like 12 in finished, I could make any patterns together as long as the pieces I use ends up finishing as a 12 inch piece! Right? finished
Absolutely loved this video!!! Just found you on you tube. So excited!! I got my civil war legacy book in the mail and I’m waiting for my 1/2 yd bundle of rhapsody in red!!
I really appreciate how much you know! But the gulf between us makes me get lost at times. Would you please consider making a video demonstrating "Good Measure" rulers? Or is there a site where I can already go to see what you mean about their superiority?
The best thing about your videos is you are teaching us to Think like Quilters & not just pattern followers who sew. Thanks so much!

I love the idea of making my own blocks rather than just following directions from a pattern.
Wonderful!!! Please make more tutorials. . .
Our goal is to try and continue with some short and some more detail - - thanks for commenting

I used to do jigsaw puzzle, but now I make quilts because I got tired of taking the jigsaw puzzles sort. 😅
Question: Are you cutting your 4 1/2 square corner to corner and then sewing the triangles back together??
I’m not clear on the question as this video was not recent. Refresh my memory as to the specific block
I’m not clear which technique you are referring to
