I have a max 75 gallon size because at 140lbs 2 people can lift it fairly easily. The 125 is like 210lbs so it starts to get up there in weight and I don't have access to a lot of strong people helping me move it.

I agree alot with with your saying , there is even SOME fish that get big that seems to do a bit better in smaller tanks for example bichirs i had 2 small ones ( 2-3 inchers ) in my 100 gallon and they struggled alot to find food etc and when i moved them to my 20g temporarily they got alot more active , ate alot better and grew alot faster , ( ofc i wouldnt keep them there forever ) but there is actually even a thing where TO big of a tank isnt good for baby / smaller fish since they'll struggle to get food , my advice would be to google + watch youtube + ask the fish store ! and even just in general just talk talk talk to every fish enthusiast you come by there is always something new to learn and different way to look at things

Awesome video Cichlid Charmer. I always laugh at the tank sizes that are listed for fish at big box stores. Like Oscar 55 gal. lol I have a 98 gal and it’s taller vs longer. I put fish in that are CA cichlids who want height instead of length. I sent you pictures actually. I want to get a 6 ft tank or 8 ft one day. Yeah I laugh at the 1 in per gallon rule. I prefer a 20 long over a 20 tall. The tetras and fish like the extra room vs height. Definitely do the research of the fish before you buy it great recommendations. ❤😂🎉

At 6:52 there appeared to be an albino heckelii although it may have been a geophagus. If it was an albino heckelii you should add it to your 180. As far as tanks go, moving mine downstairs to a concrete floor opened up a lot of possibilities although I wish I could keep them in my living space like you do. For most people with smaller fish, the 40 breeder or the 75 are the most versatile options. There is quite a bit of surface area that will accommodate swimming and territorial needs as well as more room for aquascaping. Both are routinely 50% off at Petco. As you said, the cost doesn’t end there. A $50 40 breeder can still cost a few hundred dollars when set up depending on how you do it. Currently I have 3 75’s, two 40 breeders and a 180. Anything new will be 6’ by 2’ or more, but there are still millions of possibilities for great tank set ups if that is what fits the space and the budget.
