    Chedder has plenty of flavour, especially a good aged one (yeah, less flavour if you buy mild chedder), but it is basically the default cheese flavour, it's the standard flavour to which I think most brits and many people in america would compare other cheeses. Doesn't mean it doesn't have a flavour.

    • @tonytye8963
      @tonytye8963 4 года назад

      Ok i'll bite, Chedder is a gorge in Somerset, England. In Cheddar Gorge there are caves which keep a cool and ideal temperature for forming cheese and ageing it. The cheese from that gorge is called cheddar and this cheese has been made there since the Anglo Saxon era, it's named after where it was originally made. OK

    Sheesh, really showing off the UK's worst supermarket cheeses there, eh?
    The UK has excellent cheese, but this wasn't it.
    Try something a bit more interesting that isn't sold in Tesco such as Lancashire or Cheshire cheese. Or how about a decent Caerphilly or a proper Double Gloucester? A decent cheesemonger has all this and more...
    This is like doing a review of what's the best British beer and picking Carling and John Smith's. Clearly there are better ones available...

    As a Cambridge lad, I know Stilton, it's a very nice rustic village in the far north of Cambridgeshire, near the border with Leicestershire/Lincolnshire. Stilton blue cheese has long been sold in the village, and may well have been created there way back when, however - paradoxically, according to the protected designation of origin (PDO) status - the stipulations that define a Stilton as a Stilton require it to be made in the three counties of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire or Leicestershire only! Very odd. It's a great blue cheese, though.
