I'm young, and not many people my age like this stuff anymore. It's incredibly sad. I'm also a choir kid and have sung in a christian choir since I was in 7th grade, so maybe that has something to do with it. I just love this stuff. I owe my parents the reason I even know about Michael W. Smith. This is just awesome music. Wow.
I am 17 I started playing piano in November did my first song for my church today Michael W. Smith is my favorite artist and I love this song! You have good taste in music👍
I haven't seen this since it aired but vividly remember seeing it and not being impressed before I realized how great an artist and worshipper Smitty is and how DIFFICULT and intricate this song is to perform live. Who else would do that in front of a live tv auduence for the President!? Merry Christmas and thanks so much for the post. cant wait to show my brother.
Ronn Huff was our choir director in Akron OH. I sang in groups with him since junior high. His wife Donna was my piano teacher and my inspiration. Michael W Smith was in WV when my husband was a pastor in Barboursville!! TALENT and Praise to the FATHER!! Thank you God for these two amazing artists and their music!
Michael, Im so proud of you. I'm thankful you had such great parents and grandparents. I remember when you were so excited when you were getting ready to do your first Christmas album, which was this one! Keep giving us great music Michael!
I keep coming back to this video! I get goosebumps every time I watch it! I love this song and the performance was excellent. MWS is truly annointed by GOD! Thanks for uploading!
Wow how funny i was born '89...and I had to lead this song two christmas' ago on the keys....haha that intro was hard but i got it down. back then i couldn't sing as high as he did. now i can!! haha
Wow! Thank you so much for uploading this. I have no idea how you did so. But THANK YOU! I have a copy of that on VHS and I have NO IDEA where it is. I LOVE THIS!! Blessings to you!
And in comparison to THIS performance... it was TERRIBLE! It pains me to say, but I was very disappointed. Smitty seemed uptight, his voice was rather nasal sounding, almost to the point of being cartoonish, and Amy seemed like she was just phoning in her performance, like her heart just wasn't in it.
I was in the EHS Choir, what a throw back!
Ya'll were killing the vocals!!!
Good job you did!!
lucky
Sounded great. Michael W. Smith a native West Virginian,we are so proud of him. Praise GOD
I hope you had fun!🙂

Wow was he young!
32 years old, he was born in 1957. He's from Kenova, WV. West Virginia is so proud of him.
He sang this on the CMA Christmas this year
And in comparison to THIS performance... it was TERRIBLE! It pains me to say, but I was very disappointed. Smitty seemed uptight, his voice was rather nasal sounding, almost to the point of being cartoonish, and Amy seemed like she was just phoning in her performance, like her heart just wasn't in it.
Now that's what I call backup.
Wow when I was only three years old.

Was that Barbara and George H.W. Bush in the audience?
Yes! :)
Rest in Peace George and Barbara Bush.
This is from a 1989 NBC special, "Christmas in Washington," with the Bush family in row 1.
Yes, he was very close to the late Bush family and Graham family.
Yes. They were really good friends. He sang at his funeral.
Nice mullet!
Jane Bellmyer...if you expand the screen, the robes DO say Eastern High School on the robes! COOL!
