He was asked whether the government was being honest with people about funding the UK's plans to boost defence spending to 2.5% of GDP. Sunak insisted the plan is consistent with the government's ability to 'keep cutting taxes', but that he would reduce the size of the civil service.

Sunak is a cupid stunt
But not ban food banks.
poeple are talking trash on rishi sunak, some i agree with, but you cant tell me this guy doesnt genuinly just wants to see his country do better.
Why am I here? Timid tosh
How about defending our country and borders.
BBC headline today: "Disability benefit system unsustainable and needs change, says government."
From another source: "Asylum detentions begin."
Another: "Rishi Sunak pledges big boost to defence spending."
You can tell there's an election coming up; but that being the case - the BBC headline is misleading. It should read:
"Disability benefit system unsustainable and needs change, says Conservative Party election campaign."
Because that's where this is coming from, and the BBC have an obligation to be informative and impartial. This is not a legitimate government budgetary concern. It's the start of a hate campaign to rile the base, the BBC willingly disguise as government policy.
Either that, or worse, the Conservatives are governing solely in service to their electoral fortunes.
