  • Boris Johnson is clinging to power and vowing to fight on, after the resignation of dozens of members of his government. Many believe the British Prime Minister cannot remain in office and will be forced out within days.
The latest crisis began with the resignation of Mr Johnson’s Chancellor Rishi Sunak and health secretary Sajid Javid. Since then more than 40 other ministers have resigned, with many of them calling on Mr Johnson to step down immediately or be forced from office.
It follows a series of scandals, with accusations that Mr Johnson lacks honesty and integrity and has repeatedly lied to his party and the country.
Recently more than 40% of his Conservative MPs declared that they had no confidence in Boris Johnson's leadership.
Many Conservatives believe the prime minister has become an electoral liability who is tarnishing the reputation of their party.
Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by political editor Chris Mason.

We've always needed that, but as long as our view of these people comes via a voice-overed filter, we'll never get it. This clip itself is a great example. Most people will only see this much of what ministers have to say for themselves, and it doesn't make Boris look anywhere near as shambolic as he appeared if you watch the whole thing. What politician's say usually gets edited down to about 5 seconds, then we have a correspondent talking for twenty times as long telling us how to interpret it. If you have enough data, you can edit it to tell any story you like.

Nonsense. He doesn't care. For those who want truth rather than BBC propaganda, here are the facts: Nobody in government resigned. They demoted themselves. Any other job, you resign, you have no job. In UK government, when a minister "resigns" their position, they are simply reverting to being an ordinary MP, continuing to get extortionate pay every year. Boris Johnson is not clinging to office - he simply does not care, and the Tories (nickname for the Conservative Party, which is officially the Conservative and Unionist Party) will not hold a second vote of no confidence where this time they vote against him - in other words, he won't be voted out by other MPs. Simple as that.

A semi-autonomus system must be examined to allow the pool of talents in GB rather than just a minute political class. No thank you. I'd be part of that pool, and have some choice in the matter (I've a top IQ and considerable track record as one of Europe's economists, having led the team which restabilised Albania in 97, organised Malta's entry into the EU and sorted out Pakistan). My IQ was163 at peak, I have a decent share of the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize, and rate as a genius on delivery. Getting caught in the mincer between the electorate and the City should be thrust on nobody. A large part of that's the fault of Sunak's brethren, but the last time that was tried (Dominic Cummings search for weirdos and misfits after seing me in action) it ended very badly for Andrew Sabisky, precisely because the Press Pack, in ignorance of the background, tore into him on your behalf. Centuries ago Blood was shed in Parliament on a frequent basis. They had to set some rules:
      No swords
      No armour
      No crossing the line
      No clapping
Address the Speaker not the other guy.
Parliament exists so people can fight without killing each other.

It extremely unfortunate that the citizens in the UK are now going through a portion of extreme HELL we in the US are dealing with. Learn well from our mistakes. Don't let Borris even imagine a coup. Don't make the mistakes we are still making here in the US. Seriously I wish the UK good luck.

Luckily, no-one in the UK likes him enough to do that. He’s acting kinda similar to trump, but he ain’t anywhere near as dangerous, because there isn’t the same fanaticism. Our main problem is just apathy - people saying that “they’re all the same”.

@@B-A-L yeah I agree with that smackdown and I will take it. But its not all of us ghat are gun wielding maniacs. I personally am horrified by what the NRA and these gun nuts who are billionaires and millionaires are buying people in power with blood money. I was in high school when the school called Columbine High School had a mass shooting. It was traumatizing to watch as a teenager. I had never seen anything like it. I was stunned. I had to go back to school. I was terrified about returning. Days later my school was forced to evacuate the school immediately m someone had called in a fake threat. That day forward I was always hypersensitive to everything in school I suffered and still do suffer from anxiety. This NIGHTMARE the majority of the citizens in the US are dealing with are by a small group. A group of racist, petty, greedy, wealthy, christian nuts, filled with hate , oh and the Koch brothers. Seriously we are pissed and we are working on our giant shit show of a problem. So I hope this helps explain some of this clusterfuck we call the United States. I love my country and she's under attack. I well as a citizen protect her. Even from the domestic terrorists who a big part of all the violence and mass shootings. We have god damn people running for office saying laws don't matter do what you want. WTAF its chaos and with others perverts running for office decides to put a video ad on line calling to go an hurt RINO's (humans)
Its a bull horn to all these wanabe mass shooters . And what does iur justice department do... NOTHING. We the majority are baffled at the lack of action or the legal systems slow walk toward justice. And we are getting angrier each day. Its also scary we don't know what will happen next.
