      ? This is a commonly used tactic in politics to force the leader to resign. Losing his valuable ministers would cause dysfunction in his government and cause pressure on him.

    I think brexit which nuked the UK economy
    and the tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths
    at the start of the pandemic may have had something to do with it too.
    So his downfall started long before the last 33 hours.

      Public Public. I’m really sorry to say, but I cannot help but remind you that Brexit was not decided in the term of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, but was decided by holding a referendum in the UK in the time of David Cameron as
      Prime Minister, and before Boris Johnson, and with Brexit already approved
      served as Prime Minister Teresa May. One of Boris Johnson's merits was having achieved the Brexit previously decided by the British people.

      @General Pershing continuing to push an agenda of austerity and cut backs after 10 years of the same party doing so, resulting in millions being plunged into poverty, having to rely on food banks and some dying as a complication of being in poverty, it only requires a little critical thinking to realise Johnson could easily be held responsible for the deaths that happened while he was prime minister. The same could be said for his poor handling of Covid

    The man has a not unusual talent which most of his cabinet also possess to varying degrees - the ability to hide truth behind a thick foliage of false leads, misleading facts, lies, exaggeration, paired up with wonderfully acted out false praise and optimism for a future never really intended but to woo the voter while something very different actually happens.

      You don’t need to understand. The people closest to him have been leaving for the last 2 years. First Downing Street, then the backbenchers in the no confidence vote and then the government vote - the ministers, junior ministers, etc started resigning on mass. These are the people who are closest to the PM and can see how he behaves close up. They can also remove him via the 1922 committee which is due to have their elections soon and can remake their rules to get rid of a PM. In short BJ could see the writing on the wall and jumped before being pushed. No doubt more will come out in time as BJ no longer has power. I hope I live long enough to read the history books on this episode of politics

    I am happy he finally resigned. To me, payback for how he treated all the airlines that are based in the UK. I even showed support of those airlines that took Boris Johnson to court due to his wrecklessness during Covid-19!

Putin knows many language, and although he speaks English, he expects people coming to Russia to speak either Russian or through Russian translator.     Johnson needed to consult the rule book. He had the majority in parliament and he could do what he liked people will still turn up and vote Conservative. Regardless of how bad he was doing Conservatives are unlikely to lose anther election for decades to come. The system has been tweaked on voting boundaries that it is impossible to get the numbers for Labour. The men in grey suits that council and advise our leaders have yet again lost the plot and dropped the ball. Johnson perhaps the easiest of people to manage they will now have to contend with some really challenging people like Patel

      @Mark Spires The only two options. EU will not say no to us rejoining and accepting money but I can't see that benefiting the Uk remotely now. Especially with how underhanded they have been in any and all deals. I think the only real thing that the UK can do is hold out for the next 10-15 years before its a consideration.
